Just disembarked from the Dream in Port Everglades and thought I’d share my experience.
We have an 11:50 flight out of FLL and did the normal luggage tag disembarkation (DCL recommended that anyone with a flight prior to 12:30pm do express walk off, but we decided to live dangerously).
We had first seating breakfast at 7:00am and the line for express walk off was huge and winding when we went down to breakfast. Around 7:15am or so, they made the announcement that the ship was cleared for express walk off. After that, Chip and Dale tags were called first at 7:28 and Ariel (our tag) was called second at 7:29. We were just completing a restroom stop after breakfast when our tags were called.
We walked right off the ship, got our luggage and cleared customs with very little wait (few families ahead of us, but they had multiple lanes open). We took Disney transfers to the airport and were on the bus at 7:41am. Bus was full and we left the cruise terminal at 7:58am.
Arrived at the airport at 8:12am.
We were through security at 9:15am. Security wait was maybe 10-15 minutes - what took the longest was checking a bag at Delta (there was a long line to self print tags, then another long line to drop the bag off). There were 6 ships in port today, so the airport was busy.
Anyway, that’s my story. It was seamless. Now sitting at my gate - boarding starts in an hour.
