In the Last Pirates of the Caribbean movie: If you stay for the credits you see another part of the movie. Will Turner, who is now captain of the Flying Duchman, is returning home. On a hillside, watching his ship come in, are his wife and a young boy, presumeably his son. This boy looks like the same boy that was about to me hung at the beginning of the movie.
Here is my take on this: The hanging at the beginning is the future not the present. The boy is Will Turner's son, his singing is him calling to his father to help them. When the soildier comes up to the Bad English Lord and says "They have started to sing" the English Lord answers "Finally". So they were using the captured boy to lure Will Turner to them.
They were setting up the ending for the next movie.
So what do you guys think? Do I have it right or did someone see something else?
Dave
