Disney doesn't care if you share your meal with one person or ten people as long as you pay the bill. If it is a buffet that is a different story unless the child is under 3 then there is no charge for them anyway. Eat and enjoy do it just the way you would at home or anywhere else.
We just arrived back after a ten day trip and this thread has people up in arms about nothing. There are still options for the children ( the same choices on most menu's across America) and there are still some gourmet choices as well. Mahi Mahi at the Coral Reef, Child's filet at the Yatchsman, Halibut at Narcoossee's etc. Yes, 11 places have the kids options menu's with the pizza (excellent at Spoodles they substituted chicken for peperonni), grilled chicken, fruit and chicken salad, Mac and cheese and hamburger or cheeseburger BUT, if you are polite the castmembers will make any substitution that they have in the back for you, broccoli, asparagus, honeydew, cantelope, mashed potatoes, baked potato, strawberries, applesauce, grapes, raw carrots instead of cooked etc. Kona even brought out some peanut butter for my son's bread.
We were told by Spoodles that the menu's are still changing and that sometime after the Thanksgiving holiday each place was going to be able to make their own Disney approved healthy choice option available for children. It really isnot as bad as the boards make it seem. After 10 days it was still a non issue for us and the boards had me stressing the whole few weeks before.
Remember they are there to service you, they want you to be happy and feel that your money has been well spent they don't want an angry table no more than you want to be dissatisfied. Relax and have fun there really are a lot of options still available if you just ask what other options are there.
