I saw the "Discover the Magic" Tour/Scavenger hunt on Disney's website and thought this may be fun for my daughters who are 5 and 6. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with this they could share - would you recommend it?

I was only looking at this last night and have wondered the same thing. I'm not help to you but will be really interested to see what people have to say about the tour. :)

Just bumping this up in case someone out there has done this tour/scavenger hunt or knows anything about it.... :)

I have done that tour twice. Once when my sisters were 7 & 9 and again when my twin brothers were 5 and the one sister that came was 10. Both times we all had a blast. I think your kids are the perfect age for this tour and will love it.

They change it also because it was different the second time we did it. In December 2008 which was the last time we did it we were looking for pirate treasure and had to follow clues to find pieces of a puzzle. You get to go on rides throughout it and have to look for clues on the ride to help you find the treasure boxes. At the end we all got our own treasure box with "treasure" in it for us to keep. I thought it was well worth the money and would do it again with the young ones (although I think I had as much fun as they did).

We're going in November for the twins 7th birthday and if I can swing the money for 7 of us we'll be doing it again (It's that or trying the Fantasmic Dessert). Otherwise I'll have my mom and the twins do it while I hang with the other kids.

Hope this helps you :flower3:

Thank you so much! It sounds like it would be a good bet for our girls. I'm going to call about it and see when it's offered.

Would this tour be any fun for two adults, no kids? Or is it mostly just for little ones?

We did this tour on Friday with our 4 and 5 year olds. It was just the four of us and we had a lot of fun BUT my 5 year old was super excited that he was going to find some treasure at the end. Instead they got a slushie, a private meet with Mickey and a pin, no treasure at all. He was soooo disapointed, I really wish we would have made a treasure chest for him and had Mickey present it. Up to that point though, it was great. The website says you go on six attractions, but we only did four. We walked on Pirates on our own boat, went through Tarzan's Treehouse, walked on Buzz, and got first pick on the carousel which was great for my DD because she'd been trying to get on Jingles all week and kept missing out. The hunt is fun, you find treasure chests that have been hidden around the park. My DD filled her pockets with "jewels" from the chests and thought that was great. They did say that the tour could take up to 20 people, but I don't think it would have been nearly as much fun if there had been other families with us.

We did it a week ago friday with DH, myself and DD's 4&8. Our group had 17 total with 7 of them being kids. 3 of the kids could read so they took turns reading the clues. We had to 'sneak' around N.O. Square and then pretend to be pirates so we would blend in. We pretended to ride horses from Astro Blasters to the carousel - we came across Wendy and Peter Pan hiding in the bushes on our way to Toon Town.
Our original blurb said it would take 3 hours and you would be served lunch... nope, it took 2 hours and we got an apple slushie. But it was VERY fun and most parents played along - It is recommended for families with kids 3-9 years of age which I think is right on.
