Discouraged about Thanksgiving! Help!!

Back in February I booked the week after Thanksgiving starting on the 29. I have been trying since then to add Thanksgiving weekend but I haven't been able to get it. I did get the night of the 27th in a premium site, but my other reservation is in a preferred site and I still don't have anything for the 28th. How can I get the 28th? Help me, because I am obviously not doing it right. Also if I stay the 27th in a premium site, will I have to move? I don't care where I stay as long as it has full hook-ups. Thanks.

Just keep trying. Something will open up. The closer the time comes, the better chances you will have as folks cancel and as the Fort firms up their refurbishment schedule and may open up more sites. (The Fort is beginning a major remodeling venture next month and certain loops will be closed throughout the year)

Don't give up you still have plenty of time. Call every chance you get to fill in your dates. If you don't get in before , 45 days prior to Thanksgiving packages will have to be paid in full, there will be some who cancel at that time and for room only ressies some will cancel 6 days prior. CALL, CALL,CALL.

Is it better to call or to look on the internet? Is there a better time to call? The CM at CRO told me the internet is real time, but from reading on these boards I don't think that is true. Also any ideas about whether I will have to switch sites or not?

I like calling better, but i would try both. Call when they open at 7am est and every chance you get after that. We have called so much they knew our voice, but we got our dates. If you have ressies for preferred and premium ressies most likely you will have to move.

Funny...I am in the same boat, but all I have is the 29th and 30th preferred loop cause' that's all you could book back in Feb. I too have been calling for a cancellation since then with no luck. We are going to Vegas for Chirstmas so if I can't add even one more night, I may cancel and just skip going this time. Oh well, all you can do is keep calling....

But, I for one will be prepared for next year and will be calling to book for T-day '09 here shortly!

I or should I say DW likes calling since some CM know how to "work the system" it seems and I would call very early and then maybe around 5PM EST since the early morning call will get the late cancellations and the 5PM might get those done during the day especially on the weekends.

As mentioned, just don't give up. Last year we started our 2007 Xmas ressies in Feb and didn't finally get all the days until Aug 2007 and ended up with 4 different ressies with one for only a single day (31Dec). We were there from 16 Dec 2007 till 25 Jan 2008. For this year we will be at FW from 20 Oct till 1 Dec and started in late Jan and couldn't get anything but 20 Oct till 21 Nov until about March when we picked up the rest of the dates.
