We would love to see a Cirque show or maybe one of the concerts on our March trip, but I haven't been able find a decent deal on any of them yet. Do discounts usually show up closer to the show date or will we have to wait until we are actually there to get deals?

You should definitely keep looking for deals beforehand, but if you don't find any, you should try tix4tonight when you get there. They started out as a 1/2 price discounter, though any more, not all their tickets are 1/2 price. They have about a half dozen locations around the strip. They only sell tickets the day of the show. You should find the closest one to where you'll be, and get in line before they open in the morning. Each location has a marquee that displays which shows they're selling tickets for that day. They have some top shows, as well as lots of 2nd tier shows. You can sometimes get lucky and pick up tickets for a Cirque show; but I have to warn you that Cirque shows don't go on sale a whole lot.

Good luck!

ETA - what you get is actually a voucher for a show ticket. You typically then have to go to the show venue beforehand to trade that in for an actual ticket. I wanted to warn you about that, because you don't get an actual seat assignment (if your show has assigned seating) until you trade the voucher for a ticket.

Also try the actual casino where the show is held. They often hold some tickets aside to sell at their own box office that are not available through any other booking agent.

In July this year Bill Cosby was doing one show only. Everywhere we asked said it booked out months ago. We asked at the actual box office the day before the show and got good seats.

There are also discounts for military, students, and sometimes AAA, so if any of those apply to you, you can typically save up to 30% on tickets.
