Discounts being offered at end of year

I noticed on this site that for the last few yrs, Disney has offered a public discount, starting in late September to be used for Mid-Oct to Mid-Dec.

Anyone know whether this code is publically announced or can only certain people use it?

And anyone have any insight on whether Disney's going to be offering this discount again this year?

Am really hoping to book a package through them (At this time, have a room-only reservation) so that I can get on the DDP, but am not willing to go through a AAA agent at this time... (used AAA discount on my room-only ressie)

I'd even rather pay the $300 that AAA saved me, at this time, and just pay full rack rate, and hope for that discount, than to go through AAA agent (just hate the idea that I'd have to call them for any changes, etc)

Of course it could always be different this year, but in the past all the general public codes (except the PIN/email/mailings) have been announced and there is a frenzy of posts on here as soon as they hit! If you subscribe to the mousesavers notification email service they will also email all the deal details to you when they are announced- and also the "Discounts" section here on the DIS will list any deals when they show up:

I don't have any info on if they will be available again this year, but JMO based on previous years but I do think they will have some deals again.
Especially if the economy gets worse and they need to fill rooms!
