Discounts at the Swan/Dolphin for policemen?

I was curious about the government employee discount at the Swan/Dolphin. Do policemen count as government employees? I guessed that they do (my uncle works for the city of Austin police dept.), but I wanted to check. Also, what discount percentage do they get?

Policemen definitely qualify for the gov't discount.
I believe that the current rate is $129/night and the regular rate is somewhere around $250 - $300/night.
There are only a limited number of rooms available at that rate, so call for ressies as soon as you know your travel dates.
On my last trip I had originally booked 3 nights @ teacher rate and 2 nights @ AAA rate (which was a little more). I kept calling every week for cancellations and by the time we left, I had all 5 nights at the teacher rate.
We loved the Dolphin and I highly recommend it.

FYI police definitely qualify and its generally easier to just book with dreamsunlimited.com They have a dropdown section to request govt rate and for some reason they seem to have more govt rates available than online or 800 number.
