Thanks robinb! How did you like the AKL? Would you go back? How was the food and transportation?

We were booked with a standard room for labor Day weekend. We checke inon the Friday about 4:30pm. We were upgraded to a deluxe pool view room. teh room ws large and the view outstanding. I think it just depends on availability.They may not book as many pool views. We did not ask for the upgrade. Housekeeping told us the resort was booked solid.

Oh yes, we would go back. My 43 year old DH loved the theme of the hotel and rushed to the balcony each time we entered the room to see what kind of animals were outside our window. I did not eat at Mara, but we were in and out a lot with our mugs, The food looked like normal food court kind of fare. The ice tea was empty a couple of times so I just refilled with diet coke. Boma was great for dinner, but I thought it was too expensive for breakfast. Jiko's was excellent, but also too expensive v/s Boma's which we liked almost as much.

The bus transportation was fantastic. We took it to the MK and Epcot. The longest we had to wait was 20 minutes in the afternoon, otherwise the busses were right there. We even got out of the MK after the July 4th fireworks on the first bus that pulled up after we got in line!
