Hi! We recently decided to change the dates of our 2003 trip from early March to late April so we can afford to stay onsite again. Could anyone here tell me if there are any discounts or codes offered in late April? And would you possibly know about how much of a discount might be available at the moderate resorts? We had a 20% AAA discount in November. Do they have AAA discounts in the springtime as well? I'd just like to get some idea of how much it will actually cost at this time of the year. We have always gone during value time in the past. Thanks a bunch for any information you can provide.

the discounts for april 2003 arent out yet! the first ones to come out might be the disney club discounts, but as far as codes for that time frame, you will haev to wait til a few months prior! you can always book it, an dthen modify later when the codes come out!

Laura :)

Thank you Princess Angel. I appreciate your reply. I know the 2003 discounts aren't available yet. I was just wondering if anyone has ever gotten a discount in late April and what it might have been. Just to get an idea. Someone told me that it's hard to get a discount during peak and regular times and I wanted to check to see if that is indeed true. I think I'll take your advise and book anyway and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks again.

This past year, the season changed starting April 22nd. We had a savannah view room at AKL for about 33% off ($205/night without tax) from 4/25 - 5/2. When the season changes from peak to regular all depends on when Easter is and typical spring breaks. Don't know those dates for 2003. It is a lovely time of year to visit. Weather this year was VERY hot as they were having a heat wave. 95 every day (but humidity was low) - still felt pretty hot!

Easter is April 20, 2003. No discounts are likely to be available during the week before or after. If you are flexible, I'd avoid this time and go mid-May.

Thanks everyone. Shoot! I was really hoping some sort of discount would be available. I'm afraid by mid May it will be too darn hot! This trip has been exhausting to plan so far and it's not even until next year. We have other people going with us and no one seems to be able to agree on dates. Has anyone heard of a code being offered that close to Easter maybe?

DisneyFreaks, about the ONLY discount available during a peak time like Easter would be a Disney Club discount, if next year's discounts are similar to years past.

Mid-May really isn't warmer than the end of April, I'd highly recommend trying for even the FIRST week of May to avoid the crowds and hopefully get a good discount. :D

Try for early to mid May!

We were there in 98 from May 4 - 15. The weather was beautiful. Hot, but certainly not 95 like this past year. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - used the pool, saw plenty at the parks, etc. It is REALLY worth the extra leg work to get the discount. 33% off for a couple of rooms adds up VERY quickly.:bounce: :Pinkbounc
I don't think you'll notice much if any difference in the weather between late April and Mid May.

I would NOT go Easter week, SO crowded! March, early April and May are much better and should have discounts. :D

Thank you everyone. You have all been so helpful. I am sure learning lots here. I am definitely rethinking going the last week in April. If the weather isn't really that much different but the crowds are lighter and there's also a chance to save some money I am all for changing these dates. Now keep your fingers crossed that I can convince everyone else and none of them has a good reason why May won't work.

May is a wonderful time to go to WDW! we have been there 3 times in May! I love it, the weather, and crowds are great, and the flower and garden festival at epcot is beautiful!!!

btw - have you checked your pm's??

Laura :)

I guess May it will be then. Do you think the first full week of May would be just as reliable for any discounts as the rest or do you think it would be safer to wait til further into the month?

Princess Angel, I sent you a PM!

Regular season begins April 27, 2003. So you should be fine with the first full week in May as far as discounts go. You'll get the benefit of lower rates to begin with plus another 20 - 40% (????) off that. WELL worth the wait! Enjoy!

Thanks sharoncity. I am so excited now. We were planning on staying offsite and my heart just wasn't into it. Thank you all so very much and please stay tuned coz I'm sure I will be having lots more questions as the months fly by.

we went to WDW for the first week of May the past 2 years, both years there were substantial discounts out. AP discounts and codes as well.
you should be OK!!!

Laura :)

I just want to say thanks again to those of you who helped us to see it would be much better money wise to book our trip next spring in May rather than right after Easter. We made our reservations over the weekend and booked the first full week in May at PO French Quarter resort. We talked to a wonderful young woman at CRO who told us to keep our eyes and ears open for discounts for this time period. She said they usually come out in late October or early November for May. She even made a note on our reservations when we told her our daughter and son in law will be using this trip as their "official" honeymoon.
