Ok guys questions for the experts. How much of a discount do we get on the UPH pass. We have a AP and my in-laws are coming down with us in Nov. I know we can get them a discount on the pass, I just don't know how much. Also, can they get a UHP for only a portion of the stay. We are staying 9 days and they are staying 7 days. Thanks for all you help.:D

The DVC discount is 10%. The pass will be for the full duration of the reservation- if that's 9 days- they'll need the full thing- HOWEVER... you can ask to drop the arrival and departure days from the pass and only pay for 7 nights/8 days. (You won't be able to choose which days are incuded however- they'll drop either/both ist and last day as a courtesy).

You can get an idea what the cost will be from our WDW Ticket Prices page. Just be sure to deduct the 10% discount from the price listed.

Enjoy!

We just want to be certain that we can get the 10% discount for our guests only. As we said, we have AP's so we don't need the UHP's. We are all checking in on Sat in a 2 bedroom. They are leaving on Fri at which time we are changing to a 1 bedroom. Since it is 2 separate ressies, can we get the UHP's for our guests fo the duration of the 1st ressie only?

Also, when we check in, if they can get the discount for the UHP's can they pay for them or do we have to pay for them in order to receive the discount?

Changing units, unit sizes or even from points to cash still technically consitutes one stay if it is at the same resort. Your guests can get the discount if in the same unit. Whether the front desk will realize or even care if you are changing units and force you to ge the UPH for the entire stay is up to them.

We have been able to get the discount for our guests (and they've paid for the tickets themselves) without any problem.

You will not have to buy UPH for everyone in the room.

Enjoy!

Stupid question....does the 10% come off the full price or can you put a UHP on your ressie? The reason I ask, is you get 5% off (approx.) for prepurchase so I am wondering if you than get 10% more?

Thanks
Sandy

The DVC discount is available only at the resort- it can not be purchased in advance and can't be combined with other discounts.

If I have three rooms reserved in my name, but my immediate family is only staying in one room ( and were the members) - can we get the discount for other extended family members who are not physically in our room, but are in a room we're using our points for? I hope this makes sense!

The rules say they must be in your unit to get the discount. That said, DVC has been pretty slack on the rules in this area and most people have been able to get the discount even if the member were not staying there at all.

Thanks! We will be there and will most likely buy the UPH's for our immediate family. A few extended family members staying in other rooms (on our points) may want them too and we'd like to be able to give them the discount - but don't want to do anything that might abuse the priviledge. I'm certainly learning that planning for a group of 20 isn't quite as easy as I thought it would be!!!!! But I'm sure in the end it will be worth it.

It never hurts to ask and I don't think it would be abusing the privileges if the discount were allowed. It's not uncommon with DVC and Disney in general that the written rules aren't enforced very well or at all.
