Discount at time of Princess Marathon?

DW wants to run the Feb 26 Princess, it would be her 2nd half marathon...

Appear to be no discounts the week before and after the Princess.

Debating an off-site resort through Priceline bidding, trying to talk her out of the marathon and staying at AKL/BW at different time for >$1000 less, or staying at a moderate at full price....

Anyone know if there have been discounts offered during the marathon time periods, in the past?

Usually no discounts (and the "special rates" offered through the travel companies or Run Disney travel packages aren't that great.)

But never say never! Don't forget the Swan or Dolphin. You can often get discounts there that would make it comparable to moderate full price.

have stayed on-site ~16 times over the years, first time March 1972 when there was disney and not much else.

the off-site resorts are looking good these days, and the competition is driving down the price of say the hyatt grand cypress, previously not even a consideration due to price.

will wait and watch for discounts..... trouble with booking later is good ADRs are hard to come by... one of the tradeoffs i guess
