Discontinuing production of your favorite products

I've been in mourning ever since they stopped making Thermasilk products. They replaced Thermasilk with Sunsilk, but there was really no comparison (for me, anyway). All I can say is: thank God for ebay and Amazon.com, where both my mom and I were able to snag a large quantity of the product before it disappeared.

If you think Sunsilk is no comparison...you should try the new Sunsilk (if you can find it...) It is AWFUL. Most everyone says it is now no better than the Suave Professionals line...at 3x the price! There are several people who have posted on Sunsilk's facebook page that have said, "It's amazing how ONE PERSON can ruin a whole brand."

Colombo Yogurt. I always bought Colombo low fat vanilla yogurt. I had been looking for it all spring and even asked. No one at the supermarket seemed to know. I came home and googled it only to find its no longer being made.

Oh, yeah. Come to think of it, I haven't seen Colombo on the selves for quite a while. It's Dannon, Breyer's, LaYogurt, Axelrod, and Yoplait, plus some Greek yogurts. No Colombo anymore.

Right - only at the semi-annual sale - which BTW ends tomorrow - so stock up because it doesn't come back until January!

Viennetta ice cream is what always comes to mind when I see these threads. This was a nice ice cream dessert and perfect for special dinners.

I also still miss Apple Raisin Crisp cereal. I loved that stuff!

YES! That was my all time favorite scent. I didn't realize they still had it on occasion, I'll have to keep my eyes out.

I've had this happen on occasion, but I can't think of anything specific off of the top of my head (other than Juniper Breeze).

My wife asked me just last night if I ever see Mars Bars anymore. It turned into a candy bar discussion and I asked her if she ever ate a Marathon Bar. I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid in the 80's.

Mars Bars exist in the UK - they are what you would call a Milky Way.
Marathon Bars also exist, under the name Curly Wurly. They sell for about a quarter.

Viennetta is also plentiful here, but I don't think it would ship well

Personally I'm more annoyed that we cannot get Cheez-Its or Goldfish crackers over here

Or..what was it called...? Crystal Pepsi? The one that was clear? (Okay...I may seriouslyl be in the minority on that one, but I liked it!)

For a while, Mello Yello was near to impossible to find around here, but, thankfully, it can be found again. (Not that I should be drinking it...but, if I'm going to get a soda, that's usually the one. I was having serious caffeine withdrawls when I couldn't find any on Disney property in October '08 and wouldn't drink anything else. Oh..the headaches!)

So many thingss discontinued, and now I read that Mcdonalds is not going to make the big and tasty. Thats the only thing I would eat there. I guess I wont be spending money there. There was a coupon for fit and trim juice, cant remember who made it ( gave up looking ) I searched every where and never found it to even try it. Why give a coupon? UGH!! I guess if stop learning to like something maybe they wont due away with it? Yeah right. Jo

My husband is a very healthy eater...
He LOVED the Quaker Simple Harvest all natural (organic?) oatmeal mix. You could get it with like maple,brownsugar,pecan... He eats this every morning!!! I am not as big on oatmeal, but this was really good.

We found one store in the larger city an hour away, and he would always stock up while over there. And, now, it is completely gone.

PS: About the popcorn... POP SECRET!!!

Ohhhh, here's another one... (I said that this happens to me ALL the time!)

Tony Chachere's 'Herbs-n-Spice' cajun seasoning.
That stuff is good!!! We loved to make blackened tilapia with this.
Much better than the usual, simple, black pepper and hot pepper ones.

They still make it, but if I want any more, have to pay to order it online. NO stores carry this around here.

The L'oreal kids shampoos are everywhere out here. Especially the toy story ones, Woody's is mango scented and that's my daughter's favorite.

Maybe your stores just understocked them? Ask them to order some.


I second the comment about bras. I have twice found an excellent minimizer via Bali or Lilyette only to have them discontinue them. I finally found(after trial and error with five others) found one I love via another brand, I told my husband next time it goes on sale at Kohls I'm buying four of them at least.

My biggest issue is lipsticks. I have two favorites: One is from Revlon's Beyond Natural collection-they discontinued the whole lip line but kept the face and eyes. Ridiculous. The other is this great sheer watermelon color from Maybelline. It was there several mos ago.

This week I've checked everywhere. Gone. Totally bites.

I actually wrote a complaint to Revlon about lacking logic in cutting the lip portion of that line, which is actually the BEST part of it!!

This happens to my daughter ALL the time with foods. She will find something she really likes and "poof" it disappears. It's almost to the point that she never really wants to say she really likes something as it might just disappear.

The other thing is that some things I have liked, they slightly change the formula or something and it's just not as good as the old version.

There was a specific variety of Reddenbacher popcorn we liked, Natural Light. Still junk food but less junky than most of their other varieties. We've had to switch to Natural Butter - bleh.

It sucks liking something that too few other people like enough.

Oh! I think I can help with this one.....we always ate the natural light. They did change the packaging and name. Try the one labelled "Simply Salted". When they changed the packaging, they indicated that was new name for natural light. We like it. Hope you can find it!



As for me, I miss: blueberry Pop Tarts without the frosting. They're sweet enough without it.

Pillsbury had some frozen dinner rolls that you baked at home. Can only find the biscuits now & I don't like biscuits.

Bath & Body Romance line. Although a few weeks ago I did get an email where they had it for one day only. $8 for the body wash. I bought 5! Should have bought more.

Okay, that's a deal breaker for me! As much as I love the UK, I couldn't live there.

I did find some yummy cheese balls in Germany that taste exactly like the Planters in the can you used to be able to buy in the US.

Ovaltine with the orange packaging. I can't find it anywhere!!! It's the chocolate malt type. Around here they only carry the other two varieties.
