DISCON buddies...please read

As some of you might already know...the official DISCON has been cancelled. (Read the announcement on the DISCON board) If you are signed up to be a buddy I suggest contacting your rep or the rep contact the buddy to see if they are still going to WDW.
From what I've read most of us are still going and all the mini-meets are still up and running. I will be contacting my 2 buddies to fill them in on new details.

It's not cancelled - just substantively changed in scope and official events. The bulk of it is mini meets anyway - so I say.. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! I will be there with bells on (and my two DIS CON BUDDY photo pins!)

I think saying that DISCON has been "cancelled" is not accurate.

Even though I am unable to attend this event, I did read Pete's entire post. DISCON has not been cancelled, rather, it's been modified due to the lower number of people attending than they had originally expected. As of now, I haven't read of anyone saying that were going to cancel their trip.

DISCON has been modified but most of the events , official or unofficial remains the same, except for the only official event will be the ilumminations dessert party.
I am going regardless, I'm still going to meet my friends and have a grand time, it's not about events, it's about friends getting together in the happiest place on earth.

The official part of the trip is a no-go except for our dessert party. The rest of the DISCON events...all the unofficial mini-meets are all still going on as planned. What has chaged are some of the official dinners and breakfasts. As far as I know no one is cancelling their trip. All I wanted to do is let the DISCON buddies know that the official part wasn't there anymore, but the mini-meets still were.

Sorry if I stirred up some controversy here..that seems to be happening way too much on this board lately.

No controversy at all...DIS Con has been modified, but it is still going to happen. There are two official events the Illuminations desert party and the Dinner at the Grovesnor.

Do contact your buddy, but I have not seen anyone say they are not going.DIS Con will be a blast, because it is the people going that make it magic!

Dave and I are still "bringing" Lars and newmousecateer with us, too! Official or non--we just want to meet as many members of our DIS family as possible! It is still shaping up to be the very bestest trip ever!!!! 8 days and a wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All, I just want to update the info that is being mentioned for Discon 2. Here is what is happening during the event.

Wed Dec 4th – Meet at Boardwalk (Courtyard) from 7pm – 9pm. Pick up pins, lanyards, scavenger hunt info, and a list of all mini-meets taking place

Thu Dec 5th – Various mini-meets around WDW property, including Jay’s Drink Around the World meet at Epcot

Friday, Dec 6th –Mini Meets during the day and Illuminations Dessert party at 8pm(there are still some slots still available to purchase tickets for this Unforgetable Event. )

Saturday Dec 7th – Mystery Dinner Theater 9pm Booking at Grosvenor Resort at Downtown Disney (you can take a bus to DTD and walk across the street to get to this). We’ve negotiated a rate of $25 per person for this, and it is optional. The menu for this dinner is awesome, and it normally sells for $40 per person.

Dec 8 - There is also an UNOFFICIAL event being worked on, for the final morning of Discon 2 that will be a breakfast to offer closure to the event and from what I am told a ornament exchange, hopefully in the Epcot Resort area. More info will follow as soon as it has been discussed with the restaurants being looked at.
