After all the goings on with the Maintenance of my room and such, I rush along getting ready because I am LATE! I am driving over to MGM so no worries, there. I pack light + one new tripod and a digital camera + my canvas bag to put stuff in! (Well I started out light anyway!) I am amazed at the swarm of people leaving MGM Studios... Don't they know they are going to miss Fantasmic? Or maybe this is a 2 Fantasmic night? Anyway, this is the last opportunity this week for me to see Fantasmic as it is the slow season and will only be shown on the weekends! Before going through the Security Check I stop and attempt to set up my tripod. (Remember the one I stopped to purchase at the Super-Walmart in Daytona? The one without instructions? THAT's the one!) I finally figure out how to lock all the legs and get some of them extended, but it still seems like a tripod built for midgets (no pun intended little people!) I decide to just change the angle of the camera to point up so I can capture the moon over the entrance to MGM studios. It's a CHESHIRE moon! You know the one... the cat grinning! It is enchanting and beguiling to behold. But I am still a novice and cannot quite capture on media what is in the sky.
After passing through Security, I try very hard not to look like the Secret Agent that I am... and no one is the wiser... Getting to Mama Melroses however, proves to be more difficult than I had planned. I move like a trout going against the tide of people struggling to exit! Finding a side street I turn and walk quickly not really knowing how to get to Mama Melrose's exactly... but, I am like a homing pigeon... I point my nose towards "Italian" and I eventually find it! I am slightly past my PS time and it looks like everyone is closing up shop!
This cannot BE! I am now at the Starving stage and have been looking forward to this forever! The CM's at Mama Melrose's are the best and looked at my big puppy dog eyes and took pity on me! They were SO UNBELIEVABLY NICE! Gave me my choice of where to sit... Michael was the perfect server (and cute as a button, to boot any of you single gals out there!)
This is what he brought out for my appetizer, along with a glass of Sangria!
I order one of the famous flatbreads and when it is served, Michael tells me that I have the HONOR of being served the LAST flatbread from their ovens for a week! WOH! Apparently with Fantasmic being shut down until next weekend they are going to do a little brick oven maintenance! (*I am NOT getting involved as I have alread spent the afternoon with MY hotel maintenance man and do not want to jinx their efforts!) I am served my flatbread and take one bite... HEAVEN! Two-bites... ECSTASY! Three-bites...I'm FULL! No joking... I have eaten one slice almost of a personal sized thin-crust flatbread and I am feeling like a PUFFED UP MARSHMALLOW! I cannot eat another bite and Michael graciously puts it in a box and then a bag! My timing is perfect apparently because I have just enough time to hot foot it over to Fantasmic! I pay my bill and thank everyone profusely for letting me eat there and I'm off!
I make it to the entrance walkway to Fantasmic and little do I realize I am only half-way there! No Joking! Walkawalkawalka! By the time I get in, the show has already started. I must now find my way in the semi-dark to a seat! I manage to get somewhere up front but to the far right...
After the show, we are ALL salmon now swimming in the same direction to exit the theatre! I'm not sure if this is better or not! Just trying to keep up with the crowd and not take anyone out with my tripod! After I realize we are still inside MGM and not being herded outside of the gates I realize what a perfect opportunity I have to take a few night time shots...
Tower of Terror!

"THE SORCERER'S HAT!" Hey, this one is SUPPOSED to be crooked!
Goodnight, MGM! Passing the Crossroads to the World! I really need to find the instructions for that tripod!
Being a Secret Agent is tiring work! LOL! Good night all! Back to my luxurious 2* Resort to dream about being in Walt Disney World... wait a minute! I AM in Walt Disney World!
See ya tomorrow!
