:listen: Is this guy new? I don't recall seeing him before. Anyhoo The Fancy Nancy outfit is done! Well, with the exception of accessories! Ella was THRILLED (even though she doesn't look it in the pics.) Oh, and for the record - I'm not apologizing for her hair, I'm EXPLAINING that she was fresh up from a nap, so it's a little disheveled, to say the least.

Now I just need to make the accessories and figure out the party decorations and cake!

ETA: I should add that the skirt is the wrap skirt from YCMT and the top is Carla's peasant top, but shirred instead of elastic casing.

LOVE IT! I can't wait to see the pics of her with all her accessories. This is such a cute idea.

I started working on another peasant top last night using the Pooh Toile. I might have to CASE Steph's pillowcase top after that. ;) I really do like this pattern!

I've been lurking around here for a while, and thought I would post some pics of the P&PP outfits I made. I am a definite NEWBIE so they aren't very good, but they were fun to make. I'm looking forward to doing more for our September trip! (and praying for a princess, so I can make some of these adorable girl outfits!;) )

Those outfits are CUTE! If you're a newbie, you're a GOOD newbie! Great job! Thanks for coming out of "window shoppingdom!". Hope to see you posting more!

Congrats on the pregnancy - hope all goes well. Crossing my fingers for a princess for you!

Wow, so many cute items shared!

I still don't have our vacation photos edited to share. I've been so busy since we got back but hopefully I'll have time this weekend. I doubt I'll do a trip report, though, so my post here will have to do... when I'm ready. LOL

Anyway, as I said I've been busy. Here's some of what I've been working on.

BTW - Yes, 2 of the sets are similar to ones I've shared before although the mom I made these for wanted shorts rather than capris. Once I get our vacation photos ready, I'll be able to actually share photos with Zoe in her sets. It's probably the last time I'll get her to wear such outfits on a Disney trip. :-(

Oh my! I'd say you've been quite busy. I love them all. The Star Wars ones may be my favorites though.

1.)Come on littls Misscammiescott!!! Give it a try, what's the worst thing that could happen?? Do I need to post that picture of Corey in the outfit Heather sewed for him again?????? Don't push me, you KNOW I will!

I know...I need to take my own Eleanor Roosevelt advice...you must do the thing you are afraid to do!

issues issues...

Okay so I just had to share this...it took me a minute to realize it, but when I did I started laughing!

So you know you've been on the disboutique board too much when you start DREAMING about it!

Jham--too much lily's got into my head!!

It's "migraine" season for me around here. Every time the seasons change and the temperature begins to climb or drop, I get terrible migraines. ick for me, b/c they are BRUTAL. But I caught one before it got the best of me, took my drugs and laid down for an hour. (I'm beyond grateful that the whole school is on a field trip today!!!)

so I laid down on my little couch and went to sleep. Next thing I know I'm in an airport with people I haven't seen in a long time. Suddenly I see a little girl walking towards me. I know exactly who she is! It's Jham's Lily!! She's smiling her Lily smile and wearing a little pastel polka dotted outfit and a hat. (I remember that outfit!) She runs over to me and we hug like the oldest and dearest of friends. She climbs into my lap and starts telling me about sewing school. We chit chat about the Disney sewing machine and I introduce her to everyone I'm with. She shows me her new shoes and says that her mom sewed them for her...:rotfl2: We had a shoe tying lesson and talked about riding a two wheeler bike and how since I'd seen her last mommy bought a new room to sew in. (apparently in my dream world we are very good friends Jham!!)

Next scene we are out of the airport and I'm taking Lily to sewing school...or she's taking me...but there were lots of sidewalks and grass...and I saw a fuzzywumble and a hedgehog.

then I woke up.

:lmao:

It took me a minute to realize that I had just dreamed about Lily and sewing!

I don't know where the fuzzywumble and the hedgehog come in...but my migraine meds do odd things to me!

anyhow...y'all have worked your way into my brain!

perhaps i can actually get some work done now that my head isn't fixin to explode! I dislike piles of paper. I better get to that pile. *sigh*

it was certainly good to meet Lily!

:goodvibes :goodvibes

They had this one a pink princess one and tink. My walmart was in the middle of inventory and i did not see any ribbon that would match. I went by Hanncock and the did not have any ribbon to match it either. So I hope I can make the straps work.

What about just buying a little bit of a cordinating fabric. It would be a little more work than ribbon, but I'm sure you could find something to match. It would also be cheaper then buying extra shirred fabric.

OK, all this talk about calling Megan "Fang" reminded me of baby Ella. I have to share. We used to call her Fang when her teeth were coming in. Caleb would get so mad! He'd say "don't call her Fang! Her name is Ewwa!" So, being the mean parents we are, we'd keep calling her Fang just to see him get all worked up - it was so funny!

fang2.jpg

Oh my heavens! :rotfl: She is the cutest thing!

I love all of the new stuff the last few days. I am totally impressed at the speed you all seem to have. I am SO slow.

I have barely had a chance to get on here and look, so I have to go back and see all the great stuff I missed.

My washer went out a few days ago and I have had to go to the laundry mat several times. Laundry mat + 4 kids = :scared1: It has not been fun.

You poor thing! I hope you are able to get it fixed soon.

BTW- I love how you imitate her talking.

My little guy Justin has no front teeth right now. I call him the Toothless Wonder :) Justin also changes a lot of letter sounds to W. Cute story...

I was grading Justin’s phonics test where he had to say the name of the pictured item and then circle the letter under it that said the sound of the first letter in the word. There is a picture of a rose with an R and an N under it. Justin had crossed out the R and N wrote a W and circled it. I called him over and asked why he did that and he said...

"Mom! This book is WONG. That is a Wa, Wa, Wose and there was no W"! :rotfl2: I about died laughing so hard.

:lmao: Kids are too funny :lmao:

I just wanted to let everyone know Miss. Katie only has her bink in bed now. She also didn’t have it last night at all. She is slowly breaking the habit. It is bitter sweet for me, but I am happy it may be coming to an end without me having to go hard core and just take it from her. Thank for all of the advice. I did want to let all the Binky Fairy suggestions to know I tried this and she just didn’t get it.

I told her the Binky Fairy was going to come take her Binky and give it to babies. She didn’t want her to come in the house so we decided to leave the binky on the porch. At bedtime I had her all ready to go and my DD 10- told her the fairy would leave her some money for the binky. So Katie says "the fairy get my binky... leave me some money.... I going to Target and buy a new binky... Yeah!!!" :rotfl: Crazy girl :)

Well, I better run. Good Night!

Go Katie! :cool1:

I'm so glad you took the time to show us what's been keeping you so busy and to share some of the pictures from your trip!

All of the outfits are fabulous, as usual, but these are my favorites. The detail on the pirates are amazing and I just adore anything with that bright bubbly fabric.

Zoe and her 2 cousins in their coordinating sets. These were a very last minute project... I was up all night the night before we left trying to get these done. (Her hair was still slightly "princessified" this day.)

Those are such great pictures and Zoe looks adorable in her customs. I love the Nemo outfits!!

The oufits are so cute! I'd say you did great for a newbie. I can't wait to see what you come up with for your September trip!

Just about 15 days until our trip and I think the kids have enough outfit...well, more than enough I think...there are a few unfinished projects that I need to finish up within the next couple weeks, but I just haven't been really motivated to sew lately. I figured even if I don't finish them...they will have more than enough anyways. Anyway, here are all the outfits for our 7 day/6 night trip - some of them probably could use some ironing, and also excuse the wrinkly blanket that I lay them on. Most of my dd's customs were made with CarlaC's pattern! Love her patterns!!!!

This is for dinner at Ohana during our first night - ds's shirt is store bought at ToysRus

IMG_5593d.jpg
IMG_5595d.jpg

For Garden Grill - I still haven't figured out what to do with the shirt for ds - maybe a small applique made with the same short fabric or something..

DD's top is reversible, and I made two pairs of pants (both CarlaC's patter)

Breakfast at Crystal Palace
IMG_5655d.jpg
IMG_5641d.jpg

Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern - the minnie dot top - I have to say that I case the sleeve from either Heather or Teresa - it is Carlac's peasant top but I didn't put elastic in the sleeves.
IMG_5636d.jpg
IMG_5639d.jpg

Cinderella's Royal Table: - not sure which cinderella cotton gown dd is going to wear. I had initially made the one with ruffles and dh said that is not Cinderella's gown because her gown doesn't have ruffles, and suggested that I make another one. I think I will let dd pick. Poor ds - I only made Prince Charming's red pants, and I doubt I will have time to make the top, so I am thinking of just doing a Prince Charming T-shirt transfer/iron on with a design on the Creative DISign board. Notice the line at the bottom of the pants...I must have measured ds wrong, and it was way too short so I had to do a smaller hem!

Tired of my pictures yet? There's more..LOL

For the Disney Princess Tea Party - think I have shared the sleeping beauty gown before... dd is wearing her McDonald's crown with stickers all over it...

I think this is what they will wear during our first day/check in day...

I doubt this will make it with us...a Sleeping Beauty applique shirt that now has a small hole in it (because I tried ot take apart some stitches to redo them!)..I was going to make a skirt to go with it ....
IMG_5672d.jpg

I think that's it!! Thanks for looking....

Jenny

Thanks for all the kind words! I really love the close-up/large scale appliques. Getting to do the Pirate Minnie was a lot of fun, too. The only problem was all the "gold coins" because I really don't like sewing with metallic thread. It always seems to break even when I loosen the tension. Anyone have tips on working with that kind of thread?

BTW - I just finished tees to coordinate with Pirate Minnie. It was another fun one but a lot more detail than I'd considered. Once it was done and I could see it, I was glad I did the detail... although a small treasure chest would have been cool to add. :)

pirate_mickey1.jpg

As for the Star Wars costumes, I tried to explain who Minnie was supposed to be. She's never seen any of the movies and kept thinking I was talking about Star Tours (she loved that ride). We did get to watch part of one Jedi Academy session but since Leia isn't part of that, I don't think she gets the connection.

Speaking of our trip, here are a few photos:

Lisa, your pictures are wonderful. I can say that Kirsta knows the SW characters. Her Dad is a huge SW fanatic. Zoe's hair was adorable. Looks like you must have had a great time.

Pooh outfit complete...finally... The shorts are a little bulky in the crotch but hopefully they'll look fine on. I just want to move on to the next Disney trip outfit. I'll post pics in the morning of Violette in it.

So Cute! I'm not a Pooh fan, but there are some peices of fabric I really love. This is nice print. Love it with the blue.

I think the Minnie pirate is my favorite. I don't sew with the gold thread much. Kirsta usually complains it's itchy. But I think there is a smooth gold. Is that the one that breaks on you?

My nephew has fangs also. His pictures, he looks like a vampire! No costume needed.

Hi Everyone,

Questions for those with American Girl Dolls or Bitty Babies.....I'd love to get Eliz and Hannah one for their birthdays in a few weeks, but I cant afford to get the real thing as much as I'd like to. So, does anyone know of something simliiar that could wear the same clothes and stuff as the AGD or BB does???? I was thinking it would be so cute to have their outfits (I got some cupcake fabric from Joanns) match their doll's outfits....any advice??

Hearing about all of the Big give projects is just wonderful -

LOVE all the recent projects - so fun!!!

Prayers to those having surgery and who are sick....

Wendy

ACMoore has a similar doll. Be sure to take a coupon if they aren't on sale.

Enchanted Princess......I love all the outfits and can't wait to see your pics of the kids wearing them!! You have done a great job!

One thing that you might could do for Prince Charming's top is just get a really nice white shirt and buy some of the gold braiding and stitch it to the shoulders.

Those are great. These are probably my favorites. I love that Minnie outfit. I keep seeing that pattern & not getting it...I don't know why, I love it.

I almost got that blue animals fabric to make zoo outfits with & was wondering how it would look with zebra. It looks good, now I wish I had gotten it. Maybe later. Of course, we did decide not to go to the zoo while we're on vacation so technically I don't need it.

Cute! Congrats on #3! I had 3 in 3 1/2 years. Thinking pink thoughts for you.princess:

Matching cars outfit to meet McQueen and Mater (I hope they still have them - ds is looking forward to that)
Love all your outfits!!!! Beautiful work!!!!! When I was at WDW in early May we only saw Mater-they said Lightning McQueen was "getting ready for his next race". They said he'd be gone a few weeks so he should be back for you. They said after the walls were down from the Toy Story Mania construction that they were going to make a meet & greet area for all the Pixar characters.

Your dd is ADORABLE!!!! The outfit looks great on her!

I like the suggestions of cutting the dress and making it into a skirt. The rest looks great, and perfect for your cruise. Your dd is beautiful!

Gorgeous!! You are very talented, and I love all those outfit! I think even my dh would wear the Jedi Mickey shirt!

That is so cute..can't wait to see Violette model it.

Great pictures, and love the matching Nemo shirt. I love the picture with Minnie Mouse!

EnchantedPrincess- Those outfits are just too adorable. You will definitely get alot of attention. When we were there I didn't see too many customs. I think that is why Jenna stood out so much.

LisaZoe- I love all of the outfits that you made also. The pirate Minnie is my favorite.

SEWING MACHINE SUGGESTION HELP!!!!!

I might be in the market for a new sewing machine.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good and not really expensive machine that does embroidery too? I have a plain Janome now and it really does everything I need it to but I would love to be able to put some "extras" on some outfits without it being applique, like her name or just some small pictures of stuff (example: bumble bees, ladybugs, etc.) and maybe some decorative stitches.

I am a cross stitcher and I am looking for fabric to go with an Epcot project I am working on. Any suggestions as to where I might find something?

TIA
