Hi all. Not sure many of you will remember me or not. I am an oldie from the original DisBoutiquer thread. I used to post quite a bit but life and planning a wedding for my daughter has a way of interfering sometimes lol.I still lurk though and try to keep up. I do have a few pictures to be able to post though. I did not make the custom, I have absolutely no sewing talent. We also have a few customs in the works for our vacation to WDW in October and when I have everything I'll be sure to post pictures. And pics of the wedding as well :).

Here is my pink Cindy dress. I still have a couple of things to do. I want to tack the bows a little more, so they won't "spin" some. My Mother thinks the bows should be smaller, but I'm not about to change them at this point. And the white sleeves are loose, but I wanted to wait until closer to we leave to take them in, for growing room. I bought pink sparkle shoes for her wear with it.

Love it! Definitely keep the bows as is! One regret I had with DD's is the bows were small. I was at a similar point- "I'm not changing them". LOL

One outfit done! Many more to go...

My mom is thinking there is something missing on the front, maybe a bow to make it a "Minnie" instead of a "Mickey". I think it is fine the way it is. What do you all think?

I think it's cute the way it is. But I can see what she means. It looks like a black hole. I had embroidered Kirsta's name in her Mickey head.

I don't know, there are so many free sites in Teresa's links, I don't know if I would spend that amount. I think the thing is, it takes a lot of practice, and unfortunately you can't buy that for $30. I would check out the free sites first, some are really detailed.

Thanks I am going to check it out. I have a few calm weeks and I really think I want to spend it learning to do bows lol.

I agree with Steph - you don't need the ebook. I made these bows using the bookmarks.

The blue/brown bows were my first attempt at bows. The second one I made looks a little better than the first. LOL!! Here's the link I used. For the brown /blue bows I used the loopy surround a bow with the boutique bow. The baseball bows are just stacked boutique bows.

Thanks so much I will check them out. Those blue and brown bows would be perfect with the fabric Alaysia picked out at Hobby Lobby yesterday lol.

I think it is adorable like it is as well. You could bling up to make it minnie though or add a hot pink bow and both would be cute! I love the color of that fabric where did you find it?

That's what I do. I just use the free webpages. I couldn't justify buying instructions to make bows.

Very cute. That pink is my favorite.

Thank you everyone for the compliments on my Pink Cindy dress. I have decided to go ahead and give the dress to Jenna now. I will take a pic of her outside at my grandparents house and post it in a bit.

ms_mckenna ~ We found the pink print at Jo-Ann's. Ours is a smaller one so I am sure you can find it at any of them. I believe it was in with the quilting fabric and they had other colors as well.

Hi everyone! We just returned from Disney in March and I asked the naord what could I possibly sew for now. I have found that answer. We have recently booked a cruise with 1-2 days after in Orlando. Today, I now have more ideas! 2 questions though:
1. Does anyone have a pic of the crocheted hats from YCMT or another place to find a pattern? I think T beri had one a while back. My MIL crochets and since we'll be in Disney in Jan, I think hats may be needed at night. Here's hoping for PPP then!

2. Does anyone know how much the Disney vinyl was? Stroller tote and raincoat are awesome ideas! Maybe a beach bag for the cruise.

Okay, I finally have something to post. I made DD10 the easiest ever skirt last night! I love it! We just used some old jeans that were too short and chopped them off and added 3 tiers. They were the Circo jeans from Target so they were kind of thinner denim. I think that helped make it so easy.

my machine is a regular sewing machine (euro pro shark)

when you do embrodery do you remove the presser foot and lower the feed dogs?:confused3

Do you use the embrodery hoop?

Thanks
Linnette

Is your machine a sewing/embroidery combo?
I have a combo, and for embroidery, I have to switch it to embroidery mode, which includes lowering the feed dogs, changing the presser foot to a special embroidery only foot, as well as attaching the emboirdery unit that the hoop attaches to.

I think it is cute just the way it is!!! If you wanted to you could add some bling or a ribbon.

I didn't even look at the price because I went in planning on only buying what I went in for. I will check next time!

Cuteness!! I found out that I "know" your sister from another board. Now that you post pics, I recognize that cutie of yours!

Precious clothes y'all. I decided to schedule a trip:May 29-June 5. Anybody going then? My daughter is 14, so no one to sew for but I'll keep my eyes open for DIS boutique clothes.

Woo hoo..how exciting! We won't be there at the same time, but will be there about a week later. Have fun!!!!

I think it was Heather who wanted to see the matching dress/top I made for Megan and me. We just got home from church:

th_IMG_0452.jpg

I love the matching outfit!!! Megan looks a lot like you...so pretty!!

Question- Which size should I make for my husband? He falls inbetween

Medium Large
chest- (38-40) (42-44) he measured 41
waist (32-34) (36-39) 36.5
Hip (39-41) (43-45) 38

The chest and waist were taken over clothes (I finally made him drop his pants for an accurate hip- LOL) We are leaving for church shortly.

So which size should I do.. I'm using this pattern
5581.jpg

it has a 5/8" seam allowance- should I do the medium and do all 1/4" seams?

I am thinking medium, and do 1/4" seams.

Ok here is Jenna's pink Cindy dress. It will be fuller when she has it on. She has the pink Petti-skirt from Disney that she can wear under the dress.

The picture does not do the dress justice. It is not that dark of a pink in person and it is sitting funny on the hanger.

What a beautiful pink cindy dress!!!! I love it!!!!

Beautiful dresses, and beautiful girls!!

That looks great!!

Okay- another question- if I do the 1/4" seam allowence- do I have to carry it through out the pattern, or just the side seams? side seams and arm holes, but not collar?? Or will that make it unbalanced?

I cut out the size medium.

I would do side seams and arm holes. If there's a generous bottom hem, I may shorten it a bit too, if your DH is tall. Leave the collar seam allowance as is.

GloriB- Thank you- thats what I was thinking, thank you for the confirmation. the hem is only 1/4"- and funny enough its the same length for all sizes (S-XL)
