UPDATE ON THE "BIG GIVE" - SEWING STYLE!!!!
WOW YOU GUYS ARE TRULY AMAZING!!! I have received messages from a number of you willing to help out already. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This is going to be awesome as it feels so good to help!! I have wanted to do something special for Alicia since I heard about her losing her sweet little boy.
I contacted her last night and am just waiting to hear back from her now. Hopefully it will all be a go and we can start sewing. Besides measurements, I asked her whether she had any specific outfits she loved and who her daughter's favorite characters/princesses are. As soon as I hear back I will let all of you know.
Again, I really want to thank each of you who have offered to help in this "big give". I am really hoping it will bring smiles to both Alicia and her daughter Isabelle.
You guys ROCK!!!!
If I could sew I would be IN! Seriously. Right this minute I wish I could sew more than anything. That is such a nice gesture and wonderful idea! How sad that she lost her son. I can't even imagine.
you are a good soul MouseTriper!

It's a lovely idea!!
Aww you are a sweetie!!! I know I am far from a perfect seamstress, heck I wouldn't even call myself a seamstress, but I just had this idea hit me and I wanted to make it happen!!!
I think this would be great fun! After the baby comes, I think I could find the time to whip up something. I spent all day at the hospital today in pre-term labour. Just hoping this one hangs in a few more weeks.[/COLOR]
WOW...congratulations on your soon-to-be-baby!!! I will say a prayer that both your delivery and baby arrive when they should and that all will be fine.
Thank you so much for offering to help. I have added you to the list and will let you know when I hear back from Alicia.
WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!! I'M IN JUST LET ME KNOW!!!!
LINNETTE
Thanks Linnette, you are a doll. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
Beth that sounds like a great idea.

She use to post here sometimes. She made some amazing outfits by hand (she didn't have a sewing machine). I would love to participate. Hearing about her little boy just broke my heart, he was quite close in age to Sawyer, I can't imagine the heartache.
Thanks Teresa, you are right, she did handsew her outfits. I just thought this might be a great way for us to help ease what will probably be a bittersweet trip. I will let you know when I hear back from her.
I remember when that happened -- that was such a horrible tragedy.
While I am not the best seamstress, I would love to help out. One thing that I was thinking about is if someone else would be willing to do the sewing -- I would donate the Minnie Dot fabric for an outfit for her little girl. Just let me know what you find out.
BTW....Teresa Joy, is it her little girl in the ice cream cone outfit (yellow/purple pillowcase dress)? It was one of the very first (if not the 1st) ice cream outfit posted.
Hi Amy...thank you so much for offering to donate some fabric! Yes, you are thinking of the right child, that was her outfit. I have added you to the list as well.
I wanted to chime in quickly that I would love to participate somehow. I have been thinking of her family ever since hearing of the tragic news. I had thought way back about trying to do a collection for a sewing machine for her. I knew she had hand sewn the outfit and thought sewing might somewhat help her cope. I would love to make something for her darling daughter though!
Hey Jessica, I know what you mean. Her story just aches at my heart and I just really wanted to do something special. Thank you for offering to help out. You are a sweetie.
I had thought of doing the same thing about the sewing machine. Does anyone know if she is still interested in sewing? I too would still love to make something for her daughter though.
I know she has been really busy lately so I thought it would be awesome if we could make her daughter some customs so she wouldn't have to worry about finding the time to sew for this upcoming trip. I am sure this trip will be bittersweet in so many ways. I will find out whether she is still interested in sewing though. Again, thanks for offering to make her something!
Add me to the list, I would love to help. I could do outfits or bows or both! Just send me a pm and let me know what you need.
Oh you are a sweetie too, thank you so much!! You are on the list and as soon as I know the plan I will let you know.
BIG GIVE- I'm in. maybe you can pick a few examples out of our photobucket then we can fight over who does what that way we can make something she wants and something we are good at or have the fabric for. LMK what I can do.
...t.
Aww thanks t-beri, you rock! I did ask whether she had any favorite customs and who her daughter's favorite charcters and princesses are. You are on the list and as soon as I find out we can make a plan. Thanks so much!!!
I think this might be a way better idea. The folks here could anti up and send all the money to a pay pal address. THen buy her a fabric store gift card for some fabric, notions and a machine.
Even better some who want to make the sets can. THose who "don't sew" or don't have the time to could give this way.
Aww you are a sweetie as well. If people are interested in something like this too I will talk to her about it. I have a number of people who are willing to make outfits already too so I am hoping she gives us the go-ahead. I will keep you posted. Thank you!!
I'm In!!! I think it is a super idea!!
Hi Kelly....awww thank you soo much!!!!! I have added your name to the list. It truly is inspiring to see how many people want to help!!!
I like this idea too, but instead of a gift card, could we just send her the Paypal money so she could spend it anywhere for the fabric and machine? Beth, are you up to organizing this too?
Sure, if people want to help out in this way I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to talk to Alicia about it and organize it. Thank you!!!
