Today was terribly rainy and overcast so the pictures are not the best. Her is my DD in her newest dress. She has a new found love for Strawberry Shortcake. I love the fabric and I am kicking myself for not buying more. :)

She was testing chairs here.

What a cutie!! I have that same Strawberry Shortcake material. Right now I am using it for some crayon roll-ups.

Here's the dress and hat I made Lily this last week. She finally wore it to church today. It is the Belle Elyse tiered dress. It was not as simple as Carla's peasant dress and not very full, but I like it. The only problem is the bottom ruffle is ruffled sooo tight that I had to iron it down to try and keep it from curling up. And I swear my lawn doesn't look that bad in real life :confused3

Lily is just too cute!! The outfit is great and the hat is super cute too!

She really is a little cupcake! Thanks!!!

Thanks! I will have to give it a try. My DH has a Jeep Wrangler and the girls hair gets to be such a mess in it. He takes the top off in March and it does not go back on until October. We live in Maryland so it is not exactly warm in March/April and October! He is super ticked off because we have had a ton of rain and he has not taken the doors off yet. I love seeing him in a suit an tie in a filthy Jeep. It is the only thing that keeps him going to work everyday! LOL Have you ever see the sticker . . . It's a Jeep thing you wouldn't understand. :) It is so him well . . . us.

I LOVE JEEPS!!! I grew up with my dad driving a CJ7 as our fun vehicle and I loved it when he took the top off of it! Now, when we visit he takes us riding around their land on it and my kids love it!! It was actually the biggest hit at my nephew's b'day party last weekend. My dad drove 8 kids around in it and they all had a blast -- didn't want to come back home. ** BEFORE I GET FLAMED ABOUT THIS FOR BEING UNSAFE, THEY WERE NOT ON THE ROAD. MY PARENTS HOUSE SITS ON 27 ACRES OF LAND AND HE DROVE THEM AROUND ON THAT** Just thought I might need to put a disclaimer in there somewhere. I drive a Jeep Cherokee myself but would love to have a Wrangler or something one day for fun driving!

So I finally finished the FINAL outfit. I still have to pull the gathering threads for the smocking, so imagine that they are not there. I really just needed to be done today! Plus, I wanted to pack up my camera- we leave next Saturday. here is the final product.

That little glittery ball is supposed to represent Tinkerbell. It isn't the best, but I couldn't think of anything else.

ETA- I decided against doing all the detail work. Traditionaly smocking isn't super detailed. I though it might look funny if I did it (and then I wouldn't want to rip it out).

This is sooo cute!!! I love smocking!

Hi everyone! We are back from our day at the parks. We did Magic Kingdom and Epcot!!! I can't feel my feet anymore, and my head is pounding..but I had to come and see all of the beautiful things posted. Is it just me or is the quality of everyones work improving...
I will post pictures tomorrow..night all..

Amy(Tada)- Jeeps are sooooooooooooooooooooo much fun. DD4 went off roading the very first time when she was 16 months old. We did really scenic trails and she loved it. My girls are such Jeep bunnies! My Dh has an Wrangler X. It is finally paid off so the reall fun can start. He is going to lift it but that is a 3k-5k longterm project. I am not super happy about it but whatever. It keeps him happy. He loves when things break so he can get new parts. LOL

My brother had a CJ7 and sold it for $1000. My DH almost cried. He was so upset that he did not sell it to him. LOL I did tell him I am okay with him buying a CJ7 or an older Jeep. Just none of the square headlighted fake Jeeps! LOL You do not get the Jeep wave.

Oh . . . I have a Liberty and our first baby stroller was the Jeep Liberty stroller. The girls even has shirts that say . . . Silly boys Jeeps are for girls. :D

Parker looooooves Jeeps too! She calls my dads "The Bumpy Jeep" -- I think it is a 1985. Where did you get the shirts b/c I bet she would love one and my dad would get a total kick out of it. I looked at the Liberty before I got my Cherokee but I did it when I was VERY pregnant and I couldn't get in/out of the backseat so we decided that it probably wasn't the vehicle for us. They DH started looking for Cherokee's and then when we found out that they weren't making them anymore, it made it even more appealing to him. He got a new vehicle last year and for the longest was looking for a Wrangler or Rubicon but decided that we probably needed something different since my Cherokee is almost 10 years old, has 125,000 miles and our families all live 5 hours away from us. He decided on a 4 dr. Toyota Tacoma, it's his truck but when I go to Alabama it becomes mine. I will say that the day that I don't have my Cherokee anymore will be a sad day!

"Big Give" Possibility/Opportunity!!!!

Hey did any of you watch Oprah's BIG GIVE when it was on? I thought it was a rather inspiring show, I really enjoyed it. I have an idea on how we might be able to help an old DisBoutiquer who lost her sweet baby boy in a tragic car accident last October. I haven't brought this up to her yet because I don't know if anyone will be interested in helping or not. I have never met this person in real life, as she is an online friend, but she is the sweetest and bravest person I know. She has been through a lot and I just wanna help anyway I can. She has an adorable 5 year old little girl and they are planning a trip to WDW in few months. I am hoping I can talk some of you into donating a Disney themed outfit for her little girl. What do you guys think?? Can we "GIVE BIG"????

(Like I said, I have not mentioned this to her yet as I wanted to see if any of you would be willing to help first. Please PM me if you are interested in this possibilty. If I get some takers I will talk to her and make sure it is okay with her and then get her daughters measurements. I am planning on making her a few things. Maybe some of you have some gently used Disney customs that are just her daughter's size???)

P.S. If this is not okay to post, I apologize. Let me know and I will remove it. Thank you all!!!!

LOVE the fabrics! Lily is the cutest little thing! Maybe she needs a little curly haired, brown eyed boyfriend!!

If I could sew I would be IN! Seriously. Right this minute I wish I could sew more than anything. That is such a nice gesture and wonderful idea! How sad that she lost her son. I can't even imagine.

you are a good soul MouseTriper!:goodvibes It's a lovely idea!!

Oh my goodness! That is amazing. I just love the smocking. There is something so special and old world about babies in smocked things.

I think this would be great fun! After the baby comes, I think I could find the time to whip up something. I spent all day at the hospital today in pre-term labour. Just hoping this one hangs in a few more weeks.

LINNETTE

OH and I have to make her an ariel outfit for her Mermaid (NOT lil' mermaid) birthday. Hoping to get a weeki wachee mermaid to the house for the party, I know a few-lucky me, just don't know if they can get out of the park w/ their tails!

...t.
I am so jealous!! I was hoping to get to Weeki Wachee this year, but we didn't make it! We were SOOOOO close too! We drove to Crystal River to put flowers on my SIL's Mom's grave. Long story, but my SIL has never been to the cemetery, so every year we drive over and try to tidy it up a bit for her and put flowers out there. On the way, we kept seeing Weeki Wachee signs and I thought about you T. :)

2. Can some one explain what the appliques are and how to do them. If this has been explained several times I apologize  I am new to the thread and have not been able to read the whole thing.
Thanks for the help.
Heather wrote a fantastic tutorial that is in my bookmarks.

Just thought I would post real quick. We made it to WDW just fine. I did get a call on the drive over from my grandpa. He told me one of cousins had died in a car accident. He is only one year younger than me so that was hard. I wanted to turn around, but pawpaw said no that that is not what Josh would want. I was trying to be strong, but when DH and Jenna fell asleep I couldn't hold back. The song Arms of the Angels came on the radio and that was all it took.
I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. That had to be so hard for you to learn about that on your way to Disney. I hope your vacation is extra magical.

I got the sewing machine out today. I am going to buy a pattern and darn it I'm going to make something!!

any suggestions for something simple and dope proof?:lmao:

on another note...

There is a bad man who has an adult grandsom who lives down the street from us. This man is very large and very tall. He verbally assaulted me once (meaning he started yelling and advancing towards me in a very scary way) when I was walking my puppy and accused me of letting my dog go potty in his grandson's yard...which we do not do...I know who does though...*cough*HISnextdoorneighborlady*cough*...anyhow...he's very menacing and he scares me. Jay went out and *asked him nicely* to keep his body and his nasty language away from me from now on (love my man! )...So today this man is walking up and down the sidewalk in front of our house. I don't know why. He keeps stopping and looking at my door and then starts pacing again. Jay is not home and I'm afraid to go outside. I'm not very big and neither is my puppy.

He's not doing anything illegal really. If I call the police it will cause massive bad neighbor relations and we have to live here at least six more months to a year. (wretched housing market!)

Part of me wants to open the door and tell him that he is scaring me and to please stop pacing in front of my house.

It bugs me being afraid of this man. But he's scary.

ick. what I hate is being afraid in my own house.

grrrr.

just thought I'd share. now I feel better.

That is so scary! I am glad that you called the police and they took you seriously!
I absolutely love all of your creations! I have tried to copy some of the creations but you are all much better at this than I am. I can't wait to look everyday to see what is new. I will post pictures when I am allowed to.
You only need one more post!

...WELCOME HOME TERESA JOY AND HEATHER SUE!!!!!

I am sure you all are trying to catch up on some much needed sleep and then digging out from under Mt McLaundry... :laundy: :laundy: side effects from a Disney Trip! Can't wait to see and hear all about your trip!!!!! :woohoo: popcorn:: :yay:

Awww, thanks!!!!! We got home last night, around 11:30. And, yep I have a ton of laundry to do! Heather had a washer where she was, so she's probably all caught up allready!

Oh, wait here is Megan (and Scrappy):

th_IMG_0510.jpg
Stephanie, that is perfect!!! I love it!!! Hi Megan!!!
ARE THE SISTERS HOME?! Where MY GIRLZ AT?!:cool1:
We are home!!! I thought about you on the plane ride home Miss Cammie!! It was a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY bumpy (frighting) flight!!! I said a prayer at take off, and many many more during the flight!!! And, I thought to myself, "Boy, I hope MissCammie lit some candles for this one!!" Lydia though, thought it was great fun!! She kept saying "WHEEE WHEEE WHEE!!!" as the plane dipped and dropped and tilted from side to side. (when you enter the plane and there is only ONE barf bag leftover in the entire row, it's a bad sign) while I had a death grip on the armrest, trying to plaster a fake smile onto my face (I didn't succeed!) Everyone on the plane clapped when we FINALLY landed!

Now, you guys have to pretend you didn't read that allready when you read my trip report, ok? :rotfl:

Beth that sounds like a great idea. She use to post here sometimes. She made some amazing outfits by hand (she didn't have a sewing machine). I would love to participate. Hearing about her little boy just broke my heart, he was quite close in age to Sawyer, I can't imagine the heartache.

I remember when that happened -- that was such a horrible tragedy.

While I am not the best seamstress, I would love to help out. One thing that I was thinking about is if someone else would be willing to do the sewing -- I would donate the Minnie Dot fabric for an outfit for her little girl. Just let me know what you find out.

BTW....Teresa Joy, is it her little girl in the ice cream cone outfit (yellow/purple pillowcase dress)? It was one of the very first (if not the 1st) ice cream outfit posted.

Hi, I'm stepping out of lurkdom for a moment to post a shirt that I CASE'd. I got the criss cross pattern from YCMT and let my nieces pick any fabric for a matching shirt. I was delighted when they went with Minnie dot! Woo hoo! I only have one of the shirts done so far, I'll post the two girls together when I get the other one done.

I love YCMT. It really helps newbies like me to have photos to go along with a pattern. I also made the handbag that everyone posted pics of awhile back. I never posted mine. It didn't turn out as cute as I wanted.

I wanted to chime in quickly that I would love to participate somehow. I have been thinking of her family ever since hearing of the tragic news. I had thought way back about trying to do a collection for a sewing machine for her. I knew she had hand sewn the outfit and thought sewing might somewhat help her cope. I would love to make something for her darling daughter though!

Going to work on catching up with the thread after catching back up with my life! 10 days in California was SO nice! Now back to the real world!

Oh my! I swear you must have flown the same days we did! We took off in Atlanta I wasn't sure I would ever see the ground again! I swear I have never seen and or felt like I did for the first hour of that flight! The way home was better and it was not until about midway through that the plane started going every which way again! Dallas thought it was just as fun as Disneyland! He pretended we were on Space Mountain still!

That turned out SOOO cute!!! Is that like pleather type material in the middle? Your neice looks darling in it!

I had thought of doing the same thing about the sewing machine. Does anyone know if she is still interested in sewing? I too would still love to make something for her daughter though.

He pretended we were on Space Mountain still!

Funny, Corey was trying to comfort me, and he kept chanting to me, "It's just like Space Mountain Mom, it's just like Space Mountain." And then he added, "NOT like Tower of Terror!" I could have done without his last line of reassurance! As we were just about to touch down, the plane was STILL jerking from side to side!

Add me to the list, I would love to help. I could do outfits or bows or both! Just send me a pm and let me know what you need.

That turned out SOOO cute!!! Is that like pleather type material in the middle? Your neice looks darling in it!

No, it's just black cotton. I gave my niece's a wide range of cloth to pick from. Any of the $2 a yard cloths from Wally World! :thumbsup2
