sorry this took so long here my handband that can be girly or converted to non girly

The bow is actually on via a clip that slips under the fabric
076.jpg

077.jpg

I did the same bow with a polymer bead

and here is my daughter with the headband and bow being super sassy (but no customs just a petti):confused3

I like the simple bows so they arent really super fancy. I may attemp to do one though for this upcoming trip

What a great idea!! I have a question- how wide is that ribbon?
Your dd looks very sassy in her petty!!

7/8 on the ribbon i think (i pretty much a dork when it comes to this stuff, to me ribbon comes in tiny , small, med & large it was the medium)

That really cool. There is no way my tomboy would wear that with or without the bow though.

You such a sweetie- That is exactly what I need!!
Anyone ordered from this site before?? I want to be sure it is reputable before I order it!! Thank you!!

I didn't know what an open toe foot was so I did a search and found that. I think they've been around a long time. I think I used to order from them pre internet days when I used to sew 20+ years ago. But 3 kids later my memory isn't what it used to be.:lmao:

I would have to go back a lot of pages to quote everyone, so here are the cliff notes:
Glorib: I LOVE the fancy nancy outfit. It is perfect!

Xdanielleax: Great job on Violette's outfits. She is so adorable I want to pinch the screen when her picture is up.

LisaZoe: As always... fantastic! If only I has half the skill you have...

Jham: love the napmat. I would love to make/buy one of those.

All of the creations the past couple of days have been great!

So remember I was telling you all that I had to make Andrew a colonial day outfit for school, well here it is! (I bought the hat)
clothingcreations074.jpg

CarlaC's eayfit pants and peasant! Sorry for the awful pic...

Okay now, I know the nap mat discussion was weeks ago, but we were just on our weekly visit to Great Harvest and the quilt shop next door had a few items on a little sidewalk sale and one of them was this darling quilted, appliqued nap mat for only $16.99 It even has a built in pillow. If I ever do make a nap mat I will copy this one. I love it. Sorry the pics are not great :confused3 I'm using my "backup camera"

Rolled up it attaches with velcro strips and has a handle:

DSCN3097-1.jpg

Here is the "back" the bunnies and flowers are appliqued with a satin stitch, not embroidered.

The inside:

DSCN3100-1.jpg

The foldout blanket which is a thin soft fleecy fabric edged with bias tape:

DSCN3101-1-1.jpg

The "hidden zipper" so you can take the pillow out. It is a basic travel size pillow. I would skip the zipper if I were making one and just probably make that pillow permanently sewn in!

DSCN3102-1.jpg

And my model:
(yes that is my foot in the corner and I totally KNOW I need a pedicure, so if one of you would come babysit my children, I'd love to go get one!)

DSCN3103-1.jpg

She's been laying on it for the past 20 minutes, I think she's almost asleep! :thumbsup2

THAT is so cute!!! Very handy I'll bet!!!!

I would SO come babysit! Pedi's are a MUST for sanity keep-age!;)

I really like the Peasant top pattern! Can you tell:

One outfit closer to being done. Still a few more to go.

Wow...very cute! Your DD is so adorable!!!

No customs to share but look what came in the mail!! It's not really that long on her. I cut my poor girls legs off in the picture!

And some fabulous bows. These are actually for an outfit I'm still working on!!

Ok, here is what I found out about Fancy Nancy......

It seems she wears ORANGE shoes!!!!!

A little history here, when Morgan came home from China she had these little pair of ORANGE shoes. She wanted to wear them EVERYWHERE. After she got home, she wanted to wear PURPLE and orange together ALL the time!:3dglasses

Here is a pic at the Detroit airport on the way home from China.
th_morganairport.jpg

NOTE the Orange shoes LOL

Morgan was a staunch supporter of the Phoenix Suns! *LOL*

Oh and one more, cause I'm still on the fence about selling my clothing... Do any of you have a good source for labels and hangtags? Should I make them myself???

Inquiring minds want to know.

Remember, you'll also need fabric content and care labels.

Here is the pattern I am not excited about :confused3 and the Fabric.
5-30-200854526PM.jpg

fabric.jpg

I just see this pattern as a halter dress. Another thing is I only bought 2.875 yards.

Well, I finally got a few photos on the Photobucket account. This is a skirt I made a few weeks ago. The top I bought at WalMart. They are a little big on my dd, but should be fine for our Oct. trip.
DSC_0687.jpg
That is too cute. I have that same Tink fabric. I think I'm going to make a cris cros top and a pair of shorts with it.

That's really cute and you got a good deal on it.

That top is just too cute. I have also used CarlaC's Peasant pattern so many times. I used it to make uniform shirts for Jenna to wear to school and I use it as my underdress pattern.

This was our deck on sunday evening after the tornado and storms went through- dd thought is was great that we had ice all over the deck, she wanted to eat it!! :crazy2:
47b8db11b3127ccec468efc5b8a900000046101AZsXLhszbMQe3nwU

And here is sophia in her pooh top- My grammy sewed it for her. I cut it out :rolleyes1

And just because:
two weeks ago-
47b8db11b3127ccec468991eb84900000046101AZsXLhszbMQe3nwU

Today-
47b8db11b3127ccec468fb9839ce00000046101AZsXLhszbMQe3nwU

I think they will be ready to fly away in about another week!!
And we thought our kids grew up fast!! LOL
EEEK on the hail. Jenna is fascinated by hail right now. Those little birdies are cute. We have a weakness for birds in our house. We have two Zebra Finches (one is a white zebra finch.) and we have two cockatiels. love the Pooh Bear top. Your DD is so cute and her hair is getting so long.

Also I thinked I missed the quote for glorib- Fancy nancy looks lovely!!

dds favorite books are the David books by David shannon- No David, Davids in trouble, David goes to school- Well I was thinking I should make/ get her a "david outfit"- It's pretty simple blue and white striped shirt and red pants. Although I don't think too many people would know who she was supposed to be and would think I was weird for dressing her up boyish- so maybe a red skirt instead of pants would make it more feminine. hmmmmm Well any way she will not allow us to read her any other books- only David!!! She can read them to us we have read them so many times!! I got a new one at the library last night and she has already memorized it!!! Ahhh kids they are so funny!!! And Cute!!
I plan on making the same FN outfit too. I am afraid that when she wears it nobody will know who she is supposed to be. I'm also afraid that people will think that I just let my DD out in public all mismatchy. Wait that's right I do that anyways. :rotfl2:

Cute headband and DD. I need to make some more headbands before school starts back up. Jenna loves wearing them and she has started leaving them in her hair while she is at school.

Your DD is so cute. It has been awhile since you last posted. You must be busy.

First off, those tornados look quite scarry! Glad you are okay!!

I was just browsing on Etsy and I saw that someone has CASED my Mickey and Minnie kissing. Like I did on Jenna's blue MK shirt. I'm not mad I just thought I would share. Her dress is completely adorable.
MickeyandMinniekissing-1.jpg

I would love to see yours! I don't remember it, and I think this is a fantastic idea!

I would love to try one of these for my daughter. I would however put the adorable appliques where she could see them, instead of them being on the underside...but that is just me:)

IMG_0947.jpg

Oh I love this petti outfit! How lucky you are to have such a beautiful girl! those bows are spectatcular too!

I just finished page 172, so I'm still playing catch-up!

hmm as I feared :( I've done a quick search on :wizard: and I'm not finding much. How long before Joann's goes International??!!!

A question for a thickie - is oil cloth the same as pvc tablecloth fabric is does it dffer?

I'm going out on a limb and saying--probably not! However, there is actual chalkboard fabric available. I've seen it in a catalog that I receive (US), so it's probably available on the internet--some where! *LOL*

:listen: Is this guy new? I don't recall seeing him before. Anyhoo The Fancy Nancy outfit is done! Well, with the exception of accessories! Ella was THRILLED (even though she doesn't look it in the pics.) Oh, and for the record - I'm not apologizing for her hair, I'm EXPLAINING that she was fresh up from a nap, so it's a little disheveled, to say the least.

th_IMG_8737.jpg

th_IMG_8738.jpg

and the original:
th_0060542136.jpg

Now I just need to make the accessories and figure out the party decorations and cake!

ETA: I should add that the skirt is the wrap skirt from YCMT and the top is Carla's peasant top, but shirred instead of elastic casing.

Cute!

Switch the top for a white shirt and you'll have a perfect outfit for 50s PTC at DHS! Or Ed Dbeviks--if it's still around anywhere! :)

That mat is so cute - great find! OK, I know you've said that we have similar taste in things, but I think we must be living parallel lives or something - Ella has that same outfit on today! Well, she has the shorts instead of capris, but same color and same top. Freaky! If we lived closer, I would totally come babysit - I think Ella and Lily would have a blast together!

:rotfl2: :lmao: That is too funny. Yes, I think Lily and Ella have a lot in common! Or at least their moms do! I bet they'd get along very well!

47b8db11b3127ccec468c6bdf85d00000046101AZsXLhszbMQe3nwU

Sorry it's looking all wrinkly- It's been all folded up for awhile:rolleyes1 I did attempt to do the eyes but the first one was all wonky so I gave up!!
I found blue fabric with bananas all over it to make outfits for the kids.

I also can NOT find a low shank screw on open toe/applique foot anywhere!!! I started curious george face appliques and I can't do the eyes til I can see better!! Oh I should post a pic of how it looks so far it is turning out pretty good.
And here is sophia in her pooh top- My grammy sewed it for her. I cut it out :rolleyes1

Her hair is getting long- I need to trim her bangs.
I have a question about a possible applique? My dd has a tink sweatshirt, after she outgrows the sweatshirt can I cut tink out and have it appliqued?
I don't think anyone answered you yet..... I have not done this myself but I plan to!! I plan to cut it out then heat n bond it to the new piece then zig zag it on or use aleenes ok to wash it to glue it on.
I really like the Peasant top pattern! Can you tell:

Would you be interrested in sharing how you did this? Sometimes my daughter likes to assert her independance and not wear bows, but she always will wear a headband. Thanks!

This is the shirt that I made Jenna with the Minnie and Mickey kissing shadows.

I love this!! I have been searching all morning for a nap mat for Lexie for preschool, without luck. It's just the wrong season...I wonder if I could whip up this in a week or so...LOL
