Quote from Morgan

"AWESOME!" "Finally I get to see Abby Grace" :bitelip:

Shannon, I have a smiliar fabric with Ladybug's on it. Let me know if you want some :)

You know what, that reminds me. I hae some ladybug fabric here somewhere... off to search...

FOUND IT! I think that'll be my next project! Please tell Morgan that I'm making a special dress in her honor! I'll post pics when I finish!

Sorry, I can't catch up. I'm too far behind. I spent my day "helping" DD10 turn our wagon into a parade float representing the state of New Mexico. :faint: First off I'm glad Barbara's surgery went well. Secondly, sorry if I missed quoting something amazing you made!

HI All! This is a dress that I made Lexie this morning. I bought Minnie and Mickey fabric from Malaysia and had never used it. So today I dragged it out and cut out the Minnie and Mickey. Lexie told me what she wanted. I wanted to use some yellow, but she said no...:
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20072363.jpg

I had really wanted to just use the Minnie and make a pink dot skirt to match Minnie's skirt, but in light of all of the discussions...LOL that we had last weekend, I decided since someone recently used pink dot, I decided not to. Sad huh?

Really cute! Lexie looks darling!

Ok, I got this finished today. I'm sure it's a CASE, but not sure who from. I remember seeing a similar fabric (maybe identical, I don't know) and liking it. Finally decided to pull it off the shelf and make something from it.

I call this "Ode to Carla C" It is the Simply Sweet dress, easy fit pants & portrait peasant top.

First modeled (because I have to brag!).

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU CASED ME!!! :furious: JUST KIDDING:love: I'm flattered you subliminally remembered Lily's green daisy dress. :rotfl: It looks so cute and I love seeing a picture of Abby Grace! She is darling!

I am getting ready to finally use my YCMT portrait peasant top for the first time - any sizing suggestions for me??? Just wondering if you shortened here, or lengthened there. I am trying to figure out what size I want o make. DD would measure about a 3/4 by the measurements given, and is wearing about a 5/6 in store bought clothing. I made a 5/6 of the "other" peasant top and it was a bit small. Anyhoo - thanks for any advice!
Oh - also - do you think it would be cute with a searsucker type material??? Next Friday is Hawaiian day at school and I have a pretty floral pink searsucker here on hand. Thanks again ladies!

My DD is 2.5, she wears a size 3. I usually make this dress for her in a size 3 but the 4 fits okay too.

Here is the outfit that I have been working on for days. I know that Rara has been waiting forever to see this. It is a M2M gymbo. The shirt is gymbo and I am going to make Russell a matching shirt and pants. Well here it is.
47b8db09b3127ccec46c59c3f47700000045138AcNmjZwzcNQe3nwc

I love it! I think the patchwork twirl skirt is about my favorite thing (but not to make, just to plan out and see it on)

Well, okay then... hi there! :wave2: I'm Adrienne, and I'm a wanna-be seamstress. I've created some amazingly beautiful outfits - dresses, capris, blouses, twirl skirts... in my mind. In reality, my creations have thus far been limited to eleventy billion pairs of elastic-waist pajama pants and The Denim Jumper That Is Not To Be Mentioned.

I have been "window shopping" (thanks for that term! :thumbsup2 ) for weeks and am constantly amazed by the talent - and speed! - of all you creative ladies (and Tom). My first question is:

Where do you find all this great fabric???

In particular, I'd like to find the large print princess fabric from that beautiful blue/pink/yello Big Give outfit (with the cricut crown applique - I think my favorite outfit yet!)... as well as the "friends around the world" fabric just posted for that cute peasant top... and all variations/sizes of Minnie Dot fabric. My DD is only 3yo so I think the true Minnie Dot would overwhelm her, but I would like to find it anyway - as well as a smaller version.

I have WalMart and Joann's locally; unfortunately our Hancock is no more. :( I'm in Los Angeles, if anyone has suggestions for local places - and of course I'm happy to buy over the internet, including :wizard:

Thanks for any help you can provide! :flower3:

You make me laugh! And thanks for your compliment on my "cricut crown" outfit! :rotfl: I originally bought some of that fabric several months ago at Joanns, but my Walmart has it right now (and for less money :thumbsup2 ) The friends around the world is Joanns as I'm sure you know by now.

:listen: Is this guy new? I don't recall seeing him before. Anyhoo The Fancy Nancy outfit is done! Well, with the exception of accessories! Ella was THRILLED (even though she doesn't look it in the pics.) Oh, and for the record - I'm not apologizing for her hair, I'm EXPLAINING that she was fresh up from a nap, so it's a little disheveled, to say the least.

th_IMG_8737.jpg

th_IMG_8738.jpg

Now I just need to make the accessories and figure out the party decorations and cake!

ETA: I should add that the skirt is the wrap skirt from YCMT and the top is Carla's peasant top, but shirred instead of elastic casing.

OMG I almost bought that applique today! Do you care if some day in the not so near future I CASE your Fancy Nancy? Lily was looking pretty fancy today at Joanns. She found a feather boa and a crown that she would not take off  and she was carrying her purple purse. :rotfl:

Me either...have you all seen the Fancy Nancy stuff at Target! TOO CUTE!
I have now seen all of the FN stuff at Target and I now own most of it!! I went to look to see if they had the doll. They had one so I got it. Then I went to see if they had the book and just to find out how much it would cost IF I wanted to buy one. I bought 4.

I know I am missing and forgetting things, sorry, I am a little distracted because this is what my child looked like when she got off the bus:

Both front teeth came out! No more cute baby smile. :(
Um Please tell me they fell out on and weren't knocked out. That poor baby.

Update on Barbara: As you know, I was just on the phone with Heather, she had just gotten off the phone with our brother, David.

Barbara is up and walking around already! I coulnd't believe it! Heather is going up there tonight after Henry gets home. It looks like they are planning on her coming home tomorrow. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
YAY Barbara!!! She looks like a strong person.

Ok, I got this finished today. I'm sure it's a CASE, but not sure who from. I remember seeing a similar fabric (maybe identical, I don't know) and liking it. Finally decided to pull it off the shelf and make something from it.

AWWWW!!! Cute!!! I hope mine comes out that cute. I have the doll and the books put up for Jenna's birthday and I plan on making her the outfit and putting it up for her birthday as well. I blame you glorib!! (Well not really Jenna already liked the books before)

I love this! I don't think I've made the girls anything green before, but it's lovely. The sleeves, I have in another one of Carla's patterns but was afraid to try it. Now after seeing how pretty and feminine it looks, I will try it! Great job!

Opps I picked the wrong person.

Here's my practice dress with practice fabric. I like the dress, except it is not so modest for my DD9.
http://
http://
I tried to modify it with the fabric I want to use and now I HATE the dress. I want her to match my boys that will have the same fabric made into shorts with a polo to match. I was hoping to have her wear it to dinner on our cruise. Dress shorts are now allowed. How can I make something else dressy out of this using this fabric. (I only have a little bit uncut)?

My DD is a 4 in store bought and I made the 4 for her, but I had to add several inches to the top to make it work. The first top I mad was for under a jumper so it was ok, but even when making the dress I have to add length to the top or it is empirer waist.

My suggestion would be to cut the top completly off and add a waistband to make a skirt. Then mabye you have emough left to do a seperate top?? Mabye an aline halter. You could also pick up one of the colors in the plaid and do a solid colored top of some kind. A solid colored pesant top might be nice?

We have another week of school to go. And Dance recital the end of the month. I've been waiting for Kirsta to lose hers. Probably when we go to Disney!

Well, I want to hear about the denim jumper!! :lmao: Welcome Adrienne, that's my sisters name also. We don't hear it much around DE. I get alot of my fabrics from :wizard: . The princess I got last summer in Walmart. I really love that one to. I tend to buy a few yards when I see it, then make something later. Sometimes I've used sheets. Depending on the size and project. I just keep looking whenever I'm out.

The perfect Fancy Nancy! But you gave me an idea for later. I made a poodle skirt with Pluto. The top makes me think of Dalmations. So a Dalmation dog would work on one.

My model finally woke up. She was somewhat cooperative...kinda...lol...

I ALMOST said I think it's Jham's Lily's dress, but then I was afraid I was gonna make a fool of myself. I should have trusted my instinct! Thanks for posting the pic again, I LOVE your original. Now you have me wanting to make the headband to match.

I was a little scared of the fluffy elastic sleeves on the jumper. But the pattern was very simple, and very clearly explained. I LOVE how feminine they turn out. I'll definitely make this one again!

I just did thoe sleeves on the siply sweet jumper for dd, and I love them too. Super frilly and feminine.

Congrats!! This is my first! I am right at 33 weeks and have gained 24 lbs as well. But the gain has slowed down a bit in the past few weeks to about .5lb a week where I was at 1lb/week. So hopefully I won't go too much over 30lb. That would be okay. My mom gained 60-70 with both me and my brother. :scared1: And she is small like me - I just can't imagine! I guess I was all of a sudden measuring a little big because my doc just sent me in for my 4th ultrasound! But everything seemed fine. My little one is just under 4 lbs right now, so hopefully she won't be too big (I was really small and right on time). I hope this one is on time - I am in a wedding 3 weeks after my due date!! I live in KC, but I have lived all throughout Missouri and it does get hot!

Thanks! I bet it would be tough to round it. I'll have to modify the pattern a bit. Hopefully that shouldn't be too hard.

Jess

We lived in Overland Park, KS before we moved to Dallas not quite four years ago. We do have a lot in common! Good luck with the baby!

Great job - what a sweetie pie you have there!

My DD is wearing a size 4 in store bought. I made the size 4 today and it fits great. I think the seersucker would be very cute.
Ella's measurements fall right on the size 3, she wears usually a 3 or 4 in store-bought. Also, I think that seersucker will be cute! Good luck and post pics when you're done!!
My DD is 2.5, she wears a size 3. I usually make this dress for her in a size 3 but the 4 fits okay too.

Ok - thanks everyone. I guess I will make a size 5 or six then. She measures 21" around the chest though - which is listed as a size 2!!!???? But she is 8 years old - LOL - so maybe I am reading it wrong????
