I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a long time lurker (since the first board) and I am just so inspired by everyones wonderful creations. I bought myself a sewing machine in August and decided to teach myself to sew. I am very slowly making progress. I have a dd(5) and a ds(2) and we are in the midst of planning or Disney trip for Sept 14-20!!

Ok. Back to lurking!

Hi all. Wow, I am still stuck back in September!! I have been going through all the posts and viewing all the lovely things! My baby daughter will be here in July and I have already started making dresses and shoes!! I hope to case some projects for when she is older. Maybe I'll post pictures soon.
I am currently using an older Kenmore sewing machine, which works just fine, but I am looking to upgrade. I don't need anything really fancy, but I would like more stitches and different feet. The Singer Esteem is on sale at Target for $100. I have heard a lot of you say that you use it. What do you think -good idea?? I'd also like to someday get a serger as well (even though I barely understand what they do).

Yep my desk is a mess. I have 2 projects cut and I am working on 1 and then I have this..

My daughter's recent biology test waiting to be graded on my cutting mat. Guess I should clean up! Not to mention my growing fabric stash...I only just started collecting fabric.

Hey everybody! Henry, Tessa, Sawyer, and I decided to take a day off from the parks today. The rest of the family went to Disney Studios, but we were all exhausted. So, I figured I'd check in with you and share a few pictures. I haven't read through the thread yet, but I skimmed a little bit.

to all of our newbies!! Glad to have you!

Here are some pictures from our first 2 days. We are not pleased with the amount of Photopass photographers so far. They are nowhere to be found. I've honestly only seen 1 that wasn't with a character, and that was when we first entered Epcot. We didn't stop for a family picture because we assumed there would be more than one Photopass photographer in the park, silly us! So, no picture of us all in our dorky matching shirts.

But, here is Tessa (pre-BBB) and Sawyer in front of the Cinderella and Prince Charming topiary. Sawyer got a LOT of attention all day in his Prince Charming outfit. But, Tessa's dress seemed to confuse people. If they said anything at all about it, they thought she was Sleeping Beauty. I was a little dissapointed!

Here are the girls the next day at the Beach Club before we went to Beaches and Cream. Surprisingly, they all stayed clean! My brother didn't fare so well, but you'll have to wait for our TR to hear about all that.

Finally got some pics of Parker wearing her new outfit. I really like how this came out except the next one I make will be a little bigger in the top. I also did my ruffle differently. This was the first time I have ever done a single thickness ruffle and I like how it came out.

Love the pics! That picture of the girls in their ice cream outfits is darling! How dare those people not recognize Tessa's mouse dress? She looks gorgeous with her princess hair!

They are not the greatest and I had some spacing issues The photos of the kids were supposed to be much larger. Anyhoo, it's done. I do like Chip and Dale though! I was at the school FOREVER today putting those up with Luke and Lily running around driving me crazy.

I have a question for 2cutekidz and Aimeeg again!!!

I bought my softbooks to do the patchwork skirts along with my other fabric and I noticed that the softbook directions say not to prewash. Should I disregard this and wash it anyway with the rest of my fabric or should I leave it as is? Thanks so much for your help!

what size did you make Parker?

I made the 4 but I am thinking that I took the sides in some b/c it just looked too big. But then again, maybe I didn't. The elastic is good and tight in the back too so that might be making it a tiny bit smaller than I like. Heck, it's probably just her BELLY sticking out some too. Next time I might make the 5 and then if I have to I can take it in on the sides.

So Im STILL working on this men's shirt. I think this will be one and only. Its technical- getting collar and various interfacing pieces to look right, and for all the work- boring, no ruffles, gathering, no "cuteness" as I work on it.

Im dying to do another outfit for DD, but forcing myself to finish the shirt first, or I never will.

Okay- Good news! My foster dog, Kayla gets her final injection and goes to her NEW HOME Friday night they are coming to pick her up, with their lab Wally. Hooray!!!!!

I love! love love! everything being posted, but will have to wait til I finish the shirt to do quotes and such.

Hello! Here are the DD's this morning before school in their new outfits! They were munching on their Barbie waffles too

Cute outfits! I love the fabric combinations and that they coordinate without matching!

This is my week, in a nutshell...hope you all get a kick out of it...
First it started with Ireland losing a tooth, that wasn't really loose..

This prompted a huge Gala in the honor of the missing tooth in the form of a Webkinz tea party, thrown by Lexie...

Well...since it was an impromtu tea party, our two uninvited guests didn't have time to dress...( and yes, there are two, and they were on my screened in patio..making baby snakes..eeek

Well Evil Pirate Lexie, decided since the snakes were underdressed, she needed to scare them away in her new pirate night outfit...(ignore the yellow ribbon, I didn't get the black one put it yet..LOL)

Well our cat Abbey was so excited over the snakes coming for a visit, she decided to get into my sewing cabinet and redecorate the kitchen..

So I decided to run away from the madness and head back to the Disney cruise where I ran into the sexiest..I mean the most efficient waiter in town...Gane'.....hey Mom get your head out of the picture...you're ruining my fantasy...LOL

I haven't had time to get caught up yet, but I thought I'd post some of our BBB pictures. The girls had a lot of fun. Lydia got the very best FGMIT (Susan), and unfortunately the other 4 girls did not. Arminda's hair started falling within 2 hours of our visit. But, it was still a great time!!!!

I bought the Bambi book and I did not prewash, but I am pretty bad about not prewashing anyway. It didn't shrink and came out fine after I washed it. HTH!
