:rainbow: Disneymommyof2 :rainbow:
Sending you a PM to get your addy!

Okay, I'm kind of sorry I brought up the whole gestational diabetes test. I didn't know how many people felt so passionately about their birthing plans and didn't mean to cause a controversy! Sorry!

It's not the worst thing in the world (think orange soda that they forgot to put the water and carbonation in - just syrup) but not my favorite. It is better cold. My only problem is that it is a lot of sugar on an empty stomach and on a good day that causes me to be a little sick to my stomach.

Any pain/trials/tribulations that you go through during pregnancy, childbirth and adoption are worth it! The beautiful children that you get to take home with you are your payoff and they payoff big time! I hope nobody (Miss Cammie) was scared off by any of my comments. I knew what I was getting into when I got pregnant and then proceeded to do it two more times!

On a side note about doctors. My best friend (and has been since we were 7, so for 27 years) is an Ob/Gyn. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near her so she isn't my doctor, but if anyone in the Bloomington/Normal area of Illinois needs a doctor let me know! She pays incredibly high malpractice insurance rates (due to know fault of her own - they were high when she went into practice directly out of med school) and does encourage some testing but doesn't really help out those rates. Some hospitals require that patients do the testing. I always ask her if I have any questions about what my own doctor recommends but I would never let any doctor I wasn't completely comfortable with touch me if I was having second thoughts. I truly believe that most doctors have their patients best interests at heart and that a majority of the doctors out there are fantastic but there are some out there that I wouldn't let touch a pet rat (if I had one that is!). Any testing that I have done during my pregnancy is for the health of my future baby and for myself. I figured the quad test (that is an optional one) is a good screening test for a multitude of different diseases. Even if you wouldn't terminate a pregnancy after a disease was confirmed (by more invasive tests),and I personally woudn't, I figure that there are life saving measures that doctors will need to take to help a newborn that has certain conditions. Forewarned is forarmed in my opinion. As far as how I pick the doctor, I want to have a doctor in the hospital of my choice so I pick my hospital first. I want the highest level of NICU available in case something were to go wrong. When I determined that (after I moved to TX I was pregnant at the time) I called the Labor and Delivery department and begged a nurse to help me choose a doctor (the nurses know who is good and who's not). They ultimately sometimes can't give you a name but I got a practice and four doctors to choose from after talking with the L&D nurse. Also, I always get an epidural. I cannot imagine having a baby without one:scared1: ! I was induced both times and will probably be induced again with this one (I was late with my oldest by a week and she ended up being 9 lb 1 oz and b/c she was so big they induced me again early so I wouldn't have such a big baby). I don't know if having pitocin makes that big of a difference in pain (some say it does) but I was in a significant amount of pain and the epidural took it all away! I personally wouldn't allow a dentist to do major work on my teeth without some kind of pain relief and I'm certainly not going to squeeze a 9 pound baby out without some either! Better living through pharmaceuticals in my opinion! But ultimately, however you choose to give birth (and there are so many choices) you still get that fantastic baby at the end! And a healthy baby is all that matters!

Oh, and I don't let strangers touch my belly either! I think that is very weird. And after the baby is born I don't let strangers touch them either! I don't know where their hands have been!

You shouldn't feel badly at all for sharing your experiences! I am thrilled that all y'all have been so generous with your pictures and your knowledge! It doesn't scare me. My issues started a LONG time ago. I know that when the time comes, I'll be ready. I'll work through it the way I work through everything in my life...as it comes!

I love all y'all and the many colorful experiences you bring along with you!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

okay, now imma share something personal.... cause y'all are my 'puter friends. Those who have been here since the first thread know that my 4 daughters are all adopted (from my husbasnds 5th cousin once removed.) You also know that there are 8 other siblings we do not have. My oldest is 8 and is ADHD, ODD, OCD, bi-polar, depressed with high anxiety, has sensory issues, propreoceptive and vistibular delays and is LD. She is being medicated for the ADHD, and the bi-polar (I know some of you don't believe in medication children - please don't get upset with me untill you've walked a mile in my shoes) If some of you remember me sharing the story of her (around 2 months ago) thinking worms were invading her body. (frequent baths, wash hands 15 tiems a day, change bedding daily, picking skin, pulling out hair - its better, but not gone now.) Well last night the babysitter calls us and tells us that she took a knife and was threatning to kill herself with it. My sitter had to straddle her and pull the knife from her - OFF HER CHEST! We made it home in lightning speed. Anyway....about 3 months ago she was cutting her wrist with sharp pencils (this happened twice in school)...so our counselor has been working with us on everything. We see a counselor every other week, a psycologist once a month or every 2 weeks (depends on how things are going) we also see a ocupational theyrapis every other week, and have a group setting every other week. SO, meds are not alone, we are constantally learning how to deal with thought, emotions, and other ways of coping. I don't want any sympathy, just some prayers. I need to stay strong. It gets so hard. I also have 4 year old twins - one is special needs, and a 7 year old. It is so hard to give them all the time they need when i have my 8 year old needing me also. My Husband travels Monday- Friday and he took a vacation for this week comming up (thank god!) But I swear, Im gonna loose it. Im so sick of crying. My 8 year old says things like "Im going to live with my birth mom" "you don't love me" "call the Police, I hate it here". I've had her since she was 13 months old. It tears me up to hear these things. I just don't know what to do. I walk on pins and needles and try not to set her off. I hate calling my monm and/or sister for support when my husband is out of town, but I do. Please, just pray for me some strength, and pray for my baby to be okay. I don't want to take her to rescue crisis and have her admitted. I know she needs us right now. When she is not haveing an "eppisode" she is such a good kid, and can be so kind and gentle. But anyhow, thanks for letting me talk about this, its so much better when I get it out. :scared:

Just wanted ti an my bit of support and let you know you will be in my prayers. I am a high school teacher and I deal with children every day with just one of these problems. Sometimes I am not sure I have the patience to make it through one block with some of them. I really applaud you for taking on and not giving up on a child like this. Sending lots of hugs your way :grouphug: :grouphug:

I gave in to peer pressure this wekend and bought one of the disney store pettiskirts. DD wears a 4, but we bought the 5/6 b/c the 4 was SHORT on her. I got some rinestone crown iron on's at walmart for $2 and put one on a tank and one on a tee for her to wear with it. Oh and I really scored on tees to applique on at walmart. I got the hanes tagless ones for $1 each!!!!! I had 2 and went to check out. When they rang up for $1 I went back and got all they had in DD's size. Got a total of 9. It was only on the white ones but I figure white matches everything.

Hello! hello! hello! hello! Is anyone in here? It seems so quiet today. Where is everyone?

Hi!! I am here. Although I need to get off I just spent way too much on :wizard: . I got five auctions. I got a total of 88 yards of Michael Miller, Robert Kaufman, and Moda. For a total shipped and insured of $324.32 thats only $3.68 a yard.   I am on cloud nine.

I have done quite a bit of damage on :wizard: this week. Bows, bling, smocked dresses and Beauty and the Beast fabric/sheets. Oh my I am done! LOL No more shopping for Aimee!

I bought three ribbon clippies. Belle, Giselle and Dorthy. I cannot wait to get them. I also picked up two beaded headbands. I am really excited to see if these are going to stay put.

Sorry the pic is huge but here is DD's new Belle tiara. If you search for Beauty and the Beast PRINCESS BELLE Boutique TIARA Bows you will see a new version. There are other tiara's and rings to match. TDF!

I'm curious to know how many customs you made for your trip. Your trip report was great and I was totally impressed by how many incredible outfits you made. Now I'm definately thinking, I will need more than (egad!) one per day.

That is so PRETTY!!
I hear you about :wizard: .
But it gets better I just added the yardage up and its 89.5 yards instead of 88. So its $3.62 a yard for fabric that retails for $9.00 a yard or more. Thats almost half what I pay on my fabric coop though.

WOW! That's cute! I guess I'm gonna have to go search.

I was just looking through the photobucket account and saw some things made with Nightmare Before Christmas fabric. Anybody know where I can get my hands on some???? That DH's favorite and I would love to make something for DD out of it.

Wow!!! I am impressed. That much fabric would get me into some trouble. Right now I probably have close to hundred yards of fabric sitting on the shelf in my room. It sounds like you got a great deal on all of that fabric.

DD informed me that she needed at least two customs a day. I counted all of them up so far and I'm not quite half way there yet.

Lisa - Help!!!

I've opened out the inside seams on Hope's jeans, not all the way but leaving about 1" on each side at the top.

I was going to applique a circle design from the fabric at about just above the knee, but I still couldn't turn the fabric completely once it was in the machine. Should I have opened the seam completely?

I'm using a pair of 6-9m jeans so there not exactly the biggest in the world, do you think that's my problem or am I missing something else?

I'll admit to not having a good day; the machine kept jamming and breaking the thread and I've totally had enough with this outfit!! Maybe a should just try again from scratch.

Clare XX

I open mine completely since I do the inseam. It's just so much easier because I can have the fabric basically flat. I do think Sue's idea of getting jeans with snaps is brilliant! I forget about that feature but it would be a very quick way to get your jeans ready - just unsnap. :-)

As for the sewing machine problems, it sounds like you need to take a break. I find that to be my safest option when my machines aren't cooperating... it lessens the likelihood that I'd toss the machine across the room. :rolleyes1

Know I am having issues. Can a seller change terms after auction ends and you pay?? Because she clearly thinks she can. She may have messed up but thats not my problem. It stated free shipping on each additional item. So I saved $38 on shipping. I didnt change shipping Ebay/Paypal did. Know she sends me a bill through Paypal for $38.

Now what??

I would send her a message over ebay, giving a link to where she stated that AND saying the reason you bought all that was cuz she said "X" on the listings. . .

So here's the Buzz outfit. I had some problems with the buttonholes so I hope fray check really works. I should have know not to try it while tired but I so wanted the outfit complete.
