I didn't spend as much as you, but wound up with almost 40 yards of fabric. :rotfl:

If I added both reciepts right I got a little over 119 yards of fabric, a cone thread holder, 2 denim needles, glasshead pins, about 50 wooly nylon threads, 12 heavy duty threads, bra cups for swimsuit and 13 patterns. I think thats it. But it is 2 very long recipts.

Also the eyelet was half off but reg 13 a yard so it was still up there.

This makes ME teary reading/seeing it. SallyRally is such a special girl. And you are a GREAT (not so) evil stepmom!

Morning all!! Just wanted to share a few pictures that I thought y'all might enjoy! I documented this most especially for all y'all!! I also wanted Sally to have a record of her first time sewing! She's a future Disboutiquer for sure!!

okay here goes!!!

Sally and Grandma...the beginning stages! (Sally had a pin in her mouth just like a professional!:lmao: )
100_2450.jpg

Can y'all see the pin? She was already loving the orderly nature of her project! She even poked her fingers a couple of times, but she kept going. It was ceremonial!!!
100_2455.jpg

She's SEWING!!! Finally!!! She was in love with the foot pedal!
100_2457.jpg

I don't know if y'all can see it, but Sally has a little smile of wonder on her face as she sewed. She loved every moment of it!
100_2460.jpg

Going Solo!!! I seriously got choked up...I know, big surprise! Grandma is a teacher and she just knew when to let Sally go it alone!
100_2465.jpg

Teddy wanted to "help put the fluffing in!" Sally let him help...even though she sort of didn't want to. She's good that way!
100_2474.jpg

Sewing the "outer case"! I love this picture. Her confidence was growing by the second. She felt so good about herself. Makes me cry. I love this child so much. I'm so happy to see her feeling good about what she can do!
100_2482.jpg

Showing Sally where to "trim".
100_2491.jpg

SO PROUD of herself!!
100_2524.jpg

She also made a "blanket" to match her pillow! She is now dying to make "travel" pillows to take on the plane for Disney! And pillow cases! I hope my "Sewing for Dummies and Non Artistic types" book arrives soon!!

Sally is officially 9 today. She was just 5 when I met her. She's an amazing little girl...well not little anymore. Young Lady I should say!

happy Monday all!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

BACK TO WORK!!!:cool1:

I really don't want to get going for the day because I have to get the rest of my house cleaned up for garage sale and it's not going to be any fun!

So I'm going to waist a little time here!

Here are some pics of Drew in her petti. I don't think I ever posted any. We actually bought it for the previous easter, but she wore it to her Hannah Montana dance party too!

The party was soooo much fun. They learned a dance to "Pump up the party"

Just for fun.... Here is the cake Drew had made me last Sunday while Riley and I had our hospital/shopping day. It was my 35th birthday.
hellokittypettibirthdaycake004.jpg

My husband had been pretty stupid that morning. He came home from work at the fire dept. and said, "are you excited." I asked, "excited about what?" He says, "your 35!!!" I just stared at him. Yeah, I'm sooooo excited to be 35. Sometimes I don't know how he functions when he turns his brain off like that!

I am admitting I need to pack up the sewing machine so I can actually start packing for our trip! I was hoping to get a set of matching dresses for my DD and neice done, but I just dont' see it happening. They weren't WDW-specific patterns; I'll do them for them for summer.

The finished Anna dress with one for Molly-doll too, reversible to the rainbow stripe.
IMG_5815.JPG

Another reversible one.

And my semi-CASE-D ode to the mouse-made Cindy dress. DD knows I made it, but doesn't know she can wear it for CRT :)

I'm in catch up mode again, per usual for me I guess...

Happy Birthday to Sally and Teddy! Looks like fun was had by all. I have lurked on your TR and love hearing the adventures of the Campbell Scotts..err.. you know, Miss Cammie's family. My kiddos are similar ages and I guess I need eyebrow arch boot camp to help keep them in line. :rolleyes1

I think skipped over a few pages and it seems like I lost a few quotes along the way - I apologize!

YEAH :cool1: I finally finished! (I believe I have failed to mention that I tore my rotator cuff and am in a sling) ....yet managed to sew two outfits this weekend! I also got my haircut in a young funky style. I will have to style it and take a pic. DD almost 10 is still sick  Poor thing!

OK on with the show.....
th_IMGP5275.jpg
th_IMGP5273.jpg

I think we really are twins! I got a new haircut last week too. Not too fun and funky, but short and different for me. Here's hoping that I'm spared the shoulder issues!! :scared: Take care of yourself and feel better. The girls' dresses came out so cute and I can tell that they love them. I think the backs are fine, especially since they seem to fit nice and snug.

I wanna share some of my designs as well :) My latest is this knit hoodie dress and matching capri pants and the patchwork jumper dress that I made my Olivia for our trip in December:
th_magical.jpg
th_mickey10.jpg

I love all of your outfits, but these two are absolutely fantastic!! I love the knit! My DD is all about comfort and she would just adore the Minnie hoodie dress. Thanks for sharing!

Those are so simple and pretty. I love the fabric.

Great job!! I think bright green would be my first choice for a shirt, but the brown looks fine and since you already have it, even better! Your DD looks so sweet. :cutie:

Love the towel fabric!! I especially like the strip across the top of the bodice - very unique!

First ~ prayers to everyone who has loved ones with health problems. I know how stressful it can be when you are living with worry.

Life has been crazy here!:dance3: Drew had a horrible cold the week before last and missed almost the whole week of school. Riley woke up last sunday with a kidney/bladder infection. She has a long history with this and had surgery last year to help. She was devastated and very upset because we had a special big girl & mommy day planned for my birthday. We ended up going to the hospital and then going on with our shopping day! I have been getting ready for a garage sale. Riley ended up missing all but Friday from school so she got really behind on her science project for the fair so yesterday her science challenged mom had to help her finish her project!

Anyway.... That was just whining. You can ignore that. Mostly I am just hoping that things settle down around here and that when Riley goes off her prescription that her infection does not come back. We have had times when it has taken months to finally get one to clear up.

I did take some time to work on a simple project.

hellokittypettibirthdaycake006.jpg

hellokittypettibirthdaycake007.jpg

This was pretty fun to do! Can you tell what it is? I don't like the jeans so I am going to look for some pretty fabric to make some capris out of.

LOVE it! Very cute idea.

Hope Riley feel better soon!

P.S. You cake looks yummy.

I haven't shared in awhile but this is what I got done yesterday. DD wanted a Hannah Montana top and I was finally able to get it done. It took me awhile to decypher the pattern. Most of the afternoon!!! But after I did the first one, I was able to whip up the second one in about an hour. She loves it!!! Onto the pics.... Oh and these are the first pics with her new glasses that she got last week. :)

Those turned out super cute.
Did they sign anything (a contract or agreement of some sort??). That would be helpful. A lot of national/big car chains give you 3 days buyers remorse, but two week sis way too log.

Now, I think you are right to make them keep their end of the bargain. But you may lose a friend like that, is it worth that?
Honestly I think that once the issue with the car is settled I won't be talking to her for awhile. She has way too many problems and she doesn't do anything to straighten herself up. I have agreed to take the car back and I will just list it in the paper to sell to someone I don't know.

The "29" on the cake is a long running joke. He has been telling me happy 29th birthday since I was 29! I did tell him the other day that at some point it's gonna start to show that he thinks I'm old.

First off, I want to thank you all for your compliments on my Diego dress :) It really means a lot. I had decided to use Carla's sweet top bodice with her stripwork skirt. Hopefully attaching the bodice to the skirt while keeping the gathering even will get better with time..lol..I think I'm going to go to walmart today and see if I can find a green shirt to match. I'm not feeling the brown.

The dresses are really cute. I love Cinderella's pink dress. It's one of my favorite princess dresses. I may try to make that when Violette gets a little older :)

If Heather turned ok, maybe there is still a chance for my hubbie! :rotfl:
Bald babies are adorable! But sadly, I mean my boys have no chance... all the men in my hubbie's family go bald early. I think he was about 16 when his hairline started receeding and he was pretty much bald by 20. But it's a very distinguished bald :upsidedow

I've heard that the bald gene is actually carried through the mother, so your sons would have the same chance at keeping their hair as your dad or brothers.

I have to show off my babies too. They're just too cute not to, even if I do say so myself (and I do!).

My oldest was the prettiest newborn, but her sister is just as cute now.

I love all the baby pictures!! My babies were so red and splotchy when they were newborn - definitely not cute, but totally loveable. They both quickly grew into bald, chubby cheeked classic Gerber babies. Unfortunately, I don't have any of their baby pictures on the computer.

I really should be packing up - I'm scrappin with some friends tomorrow - but I loathe packing up all my supplies. I collect scrapbook supplies like I do fabric - so that means I have entirely too much! And I can't narrow anything down - I feel the need to take nearly everything I own - because what if I need it? So, I'll go tomorrow, use only about 5% of what I brought and maybe have one page completed! But it will be fun!

I do the same thing. Then I finally realized that there was no rule that said I couldn't wait and finish a page when I get home if I really, truly need supplies that I don't have with me. I hate doing it, but it is better than hauling the whole world to a 5 hour crop. :rolleyes1

**Off topic for a minute for my Scrapbooking Friends!** Do any of you like to use sketches?? Becky Fleck's new Page Maps book is fabulous!! Totally worth the investment. She even has little cards for each sketch that you can punch out and bring with you to a crop. I ordered mine from Amazon and the price can't be beat! ***End off topic scrapbooking info**

I just can't keep up with this thread and real life. The work I have seen is amazing.

Steph - love the reconstructed shirt - dress.

Lisa - those shoes are great.

All the baby pics are so cute.

I took on a challenge this week and sewed something for myself (this is a first for me plus I just started sewing in August 2007 because of the original Disboutique thread). I was very askeered but made it through - darts, pleats and zippers oh my. I had never done any of these features before and they were a little challenging at first.
th_Myfirstadulttop002.jpg

th_3867.jpg

It actually fits. And I only had to rip out part of one seam when I was sewing in the zipper. I only made the top with $2.00/yard fabric because I did not want to waste worthwhile fabric if the project did not work out well.

And just because we are sharing baby pictures:
Lauren at 5.5 months (this was our Christmas card picture that year)

Nice work on the top! Using less expensive fabric--but something you know you'll wear--for a prototype is a terrific way to save money! I have an amazing amount of broadcloth around for just that reason. Buy it on sale and add it to the stash until it's needed. :thumbsup2

Edited to add:

This thread gets ahead of me every day! I'll be starting page 124 at lunch. Wonder how many pages I'll be behind then! *LOL*

Ladies,

What color T-shirt would you iron on a mickey head with the friends around the World Epcot Fabric?

Awww how cute is she sewing for the 1st time!!! That is so cool you got all these pictures!

My DD's rescheduled birthday party was this weekend. But for one reason or another almost everyone cancelled, which in the end worked out. My grandmother (81) has an aneurysm and it started leaking this weekend, so we traveled home and visited her. The DR gave her some meds to keep her comfortable...now we just wait. There is no way to do any exploratory to see what is happening, but there are two options. One - it is leaking between the layers of the vessel and it will clot. Two - it is leaking into her abdomin...it will continue to leak. She is at home now, so she is happy. i just hate to see her in pain! Just ask for some prayers and strenght for the family right now.:worried:

Aww we will be praying for your grandma!!

I will pray for your Grandmother as well as your family. It is always hard to be told that you have to just "wait" Basicly, We are just "waiting" for my daughters liver to fail so she can be moved up on the transplant list. She is doing great now but the reality is that it can happen at any time. I have put it in God's hands and thanks to him, my daughter is doing wonderful. God has a plan for your Grandmother as he does for my daughter :)

Awww, I will be praying for your sweet little girl and your family as well. I can only imagine how the "waiting" must be! My thoughts are with you guys! :cloud9:

I LOVE the Hello Kitty button shirt!!! Did you sew all of those on, or glue them on? What a great idea!!

That's the outfit!!!!!!!!! I looked everywhere for it in the photobucket account but I must admit that I always overlook stuff in there but if it was with the other crab stuff -- I am blind!
I'm in charge of categorizing the stuff in photobucket (although I've really been slacking lately) and I didn't even know we had a "crab stuff" category. So, that could be part of the problem! :rotfl:

Nope, the bald gene can come from either side of the family (I posted a link a few posts back), that's just a myth.
