I finished Violette's dress for the Go Diego Go show. It's cute. I'm not 100% happy with it but oh well. I messed up the gathering again and it's less gathered in the back than it is in the front...and I used a ruffler foot this time! for pete's sake. I tried to get some good shots of her modeling it but the moment she stands still for the picture is the moment pigs fly...haha...Sorry about the cloudiness. I just discovered a film on my lense. I have to clean it. Do you think the brown shirt looks cute under it? Or should I put like a bright blue shirt under the dress?

Wow! You are talented! I've never tried to make anything out of knit, but I've wanted to. That first outfit has me wanted to try something soon! I love all of them, they're great!

Thanks so much :) Knit has its moments :headache: but overall it is wonderful and super fun to work with! PM me if you would like some help or more pointers! The biggest issue is to not stretch it while sewing! I am working on a few more Knit items! I will share them when they are finished!

Question for you all - has anyone used the patchwork twirl skirt on YCMT? If so, how easy would it be to scale down to a size 1? I really like the skirt but its a bit big for us at the minute.

I have used the pattern from YCMT but honestly you do not need it :cool1:
What I do is use 6X6 squares (My dd is a size 2T so manybe smaller for your DD) I start with the top layer and usE 6 squares for the waistband, put to the side
Then I use 12 for the next row and 24 for the row after that.

I fold the top layer to make a casing for my elastic and stitch into place. Then I gather the other rows using a basting stitch and pin the first l;ayer to the top of the second and sew, then serge and top stitch.

I repeat with the second layer by attaching the 3rd layer to the top of the bottom of the second layer, sew, serge, topstitch add a ruffle at the bottom, add the elastic sew the casing closed and you are finished :) if you need any tips, PM me and I will help you! :lovestruc Hope it helps some! lol

Thanks again everyone about the dresses! I think I am going to add bows and sunscreen:laughing: when they wear them...or a t-shirt underneath!

Garsh...sorry about the snow in Michigan  :sad2: :flower3:

This came out so cute. the brown shirt looks fine, but how about green? The blue would look good too! Love all the patterns you choose.

Here are the two little sundresses that I made yesterday. Nothing special, the girls just need something light, to run to the store in or to wear over their swimsuits.
IrelandandLexieChristmas20071695-1.jpg

I also hit JoAnn's today...not good. They had tons of fabric for a dollar a yard. So I wound up with a 38 dollar tab, which means..lot's more fabric to try to find a home for in this house.
I found the Christmas Mickey print that I passed by last year.
IrelandandLexieChristmas20071694.jpg

I was fun shopping, but the whole time I was having my fabric cut..the girls were chanting.."Mum, I have to pee...Mum I have to pee.." It was funny for the first 2 seconds, I finally told them to go find a bathroom by themselves, which I knew they'd never do, and they shut up..

Love the little sun dresses They are super cute! I was eyeing that Christmas fabric last year but passed. I am heading to Joann's now to see if they still have it! It will be perfect for a few sets for our December trip!

What kind of fishies do you have?

I am SO impressed!! For someone who JUST started sewing, you are doing a dang good job!!! I think a blue or green shirt would look super cute and bring out the brights in the dress!! Brown is cute too though! Your little one sure is cute!

Those dresses are super cute. I NEED that fabric! We are going in December and that is perfect! Now, how to get some without dh finding out!;)

It's amazing how good looking those ugly babies can turn out! :rotfl: Your kids are just stunning!! I love that you think your son was the ugliest baby you've ever seen. You're right, it just makes you fall in love faster because you know "This baby's going to need my help!":rotfl2:

I have seen some however, that just stayed really ugly! I still loved the little booger though! Don't worry, I'm not talking about one of Heather's, David's or my kids!
Sadly enough, I know exactly who you're talking about. ;)

This is so original, and absolutely ADORABLE!! I love it! I think a green shirt, or a blue one would look great under it!

Garsh...sorry about the snow in Michigan  :sad2: :flower3:

Not as sorry as I am! :sad2: But, thank you for the flower!!

I'd love to hear your pointers! I'm sure there are others on here who'd like to hear them, too. So, if you would post them on the board, that would be wonderful! Thank you!

Pretty dresses and gorgeous girls! I can't believe how much Lexie is growing up!

I am a mean mom and when Tessa requests an unecessary bathroom break, I tell her "Sure, but you'll owe me $1." I've found that almost every time, the urge to pee goes away!:rotfl2:

Had a wonderful time at princesses on ice yesterday afternoon! DD4 absolutely adored the whole afternoon! From getting into her (Store bought) Aurora dress, to putting on her Disney doll's skates, to lunch with the girls, to the show, she was in heaven! Will add a pic in a few!

Really cute dress!!! I am a newbie too and you are doing a super job. I think the brown shirt is fine, but a bright green or blue would probably bting out those colors more.

LOVE the sundreses. I went to Joann today too, but I got out with only 6 $0.99 patterns. It was a mad house.:scared1:

This is one of the only "store bought" dresses that she has and she absolutely loved it so I didn't "fix" it....but when it came from:wizard: I fell in LOVE with the fabric (Almost Sleeping Beauty tuoile)! I can so totally see making the dress a shirt and using the pink ruffle around the bottom of some leggins or some capris or something?!?! I'm not used to seeing her in short dresses!

She was SO excited when Sleeping Beauty came out....pure excitement!
Oh well....we had tons of fun!

I love that dress!! I've seen it and wanted it for my girls!! It's so beautifully clasically girly!!!! Did you make the tiara?

Your daughter looks absolutlely precious!!!!!!

This is for our trip in September. It is a little big but it is should fit perfectly then. The Mickey parts fabric is a dish towel set. They lady at the little kitchen shop asked me if we needed plates to go with the towels and I said or course not this is going to be clothes soon!

I am having bows and bling made to match. I am very excited about this one. Free Dining helps too. :)

I love it! And the crocodile is fantastic too! Can't wait to see the finished product.
And guess what y'all...Sally got a SEWING MACHINE from her grandma!!! She was THRILLED to death!! I cried when she opened it. I thought of all y'all and how much love you show your munchkins with your sewing machines! It's a nice one too! It's a Jenome Petite...I think that's what it's called! Tomorrow Sally will sit with her grandma and they will sew a pillow together!

GENIUS! Love it! I'm going to do something similar and use pieces of the sheet set. I love this though, because the parts are smaller, and you can see them really well.
