I bet all the older toddlers & girls thought he was a gorgeous baby too! ;) :lmao:
He really was a Beautiful Baby- Very Handsome in his race car shirt and overalls!!
Do you have a picture of him in that outfit that his very talented auntie made for him when she first made it? You know the one I'm talking about :goodvibes ;) :rotfl2: I know it looked so cute on him what was it last year when he modeled it.

I have no idea what picture you could be talking about!.....

003.jpg

In my efforts to sway Miss Cammie, I was trying to show her how cute a 6 year old boy and an big sister can be with a baby sister :rotfl: Since Miss Cammie doesn't have a 3-year-old boy I left Luke out but I was feeling guilty about that :guilty: so now when I'm on my other computer I will get a pic up of him.

Awww, what a good mommy you are to feel guilty abuot that! I just wanted to see little Luke!

Guess who got Free Dining this morning!!! Yippee!!!!

DD and I are going on a little girls weekend trip! We also get to go during MNSSHP. Super Fun!!!

YEAH Aimee!!!

:

Today my youngest turned 12. Our trip in 2 weeks is a surprise for my boys so I got a 25 piece Disney puzzle and wrote Happy Birthday Jake and Levi and put Disney World April 27-May4, 2008. On the back of each piece I put direction for a treasure hunt to find each piece... Some very simple and some rather complex treasure hunting will be going on. The last puzzle piece will tell them to go to the coffee table and make the puzzle. I just finished costumes for the Pirate and Princess party. (I wanna be a pirate) I made skull caps, put a jolly roger on t-shirts and a red sash belt. (They have black bathing suits)At that point I will Have them open their costumes and read about the P&PP. My dear hubby asked if he gets a costume. He is such a good sport. (I made him to match the boys.)

Well that is quite a ramble. I am just so excited to FINALLY tell them!

I'm off to an IEP meeting and the youngest's school and then home to make fudgy chocolate cake. I have lost 27 pounds for this trip... I so wish he had chosen a cake I didn't like.

Happy Day eveyone!

That sounds like fun!!!!!

Congratulations on the great weight loss!!!

So here is my Bad Mom of the Year story...

Last night I was fininshing up DD's Pooh outfit. (I worked on the 1950 Singer and got it working again:cool1: ). I had just ironed the straps and needed her to try it on one more time before I sewed them in place. As I was pinning, she decided to touch the iron! That is the worst sound ever! I think I heard her skin sizzle.:scared: I can't believe I did not turn it off! :scared1: We ran to the kitchen and ran it under cool water while she sobbed:sad: It has not blistered so I think we got to it fast enough. Now she is scared to come in the room with the iron! AAAAHHHHH!!! Leson learned!:headache:
 OH, ouch! I feel bad for both of you!

ouch! I had the best mom in the world! but she liked to tell me the story of the time when I was a baby and she pinned my diaper right to my flesh :scared1: (yes, that dates me, but I did also wear pampers so I'm not THAT old :rotfl: )

Oh my word!!! OOOOOWWWWWIEEEE!!!! While we were at Disney when Lyddy was 5 months old, I buckled her into the stroller, and then wondered why she was screaming. I finally figured out that I had buckled her skin into the buckle! I felt soooooo horrible!
JHAM-I saw those ruffled capris this morning and they are sooo cute! I really wish all of the sizes came in one pattern, because I would have to buy two patterns for it to fit my girls!:sad1: Oh well, I guess my girls' will be walking around in ruffleless capris!

TERESA-He was such a cute baby! What a sweet little face!

Oh the horror of rufflelless capris!!! :scared1:

Corey did have a sweet little face, didn't he! He still does! :lovestruc

My Mom is throwing a dog party for the girls this afternoon, so I sewed up a doggy outfit for Arminda last night. I'll post pictures as soon as I can find my camera... which may be after we get back, knowing me! I think she looks pretty darn cute in it!

What darling pictures!!! I was also wondering where Luke, was!

Well, they pretty much gaurantee Ill get the symphisis again (pubic bone seperates too much too early= painful to sleep, walk, etc. and my gastro Dr told me to "get a new husband" when I told him DH wants another- I now have Barrett's esophgus (pre-cancerous, but not likely to turn to cancer)
I too suffered from that awful "morning sickness" which is such a joke they should call it "ALL the time sickness"LOL. DH said he might see if he can work something out so he can work from home once I cant lift/walk. We cant really afford (in this area its about 35k for part time help, plus a finders fee to go thru a company) to hire someone to take care of me and DD so I may just have to cope. The idea of 2 children at WDW sounds like fun, I see pics of others with multiple kids and think- Now THAT'S a family. But from PG to baby's 1st bday I was not a happy person. By about 15months I was able to power walk. Its doable. So IF I do this- y'all will support me and be nice on the days Im grumpy right?
Sounds like you had a rough time of it with your pregnancy. Yes, of course we'll be here for you.

SO? How's everyone's diets going????

I started again last Friday with a vengence. Today my TMJ (jaw joint near my left ear) is TOTALLY out of whack. I can't even open my mouth today!!! Which is great for the diet, I'd say. I ve just had soup and sugar free jello.
1)I don't wish to talk about it. :snooty: Seriously, I am getting into the right frame of mind again today, so hopefully I'll have a weight loss to report next week. My mom has lost 20 pounds since we started this, though!!!

Oh my gosh, that is too cute! I love the back!

Teresa clear your PM's so I can chat please
I am SO jealous! I very rarely get PMs and my PM box has NEVER been full!

sorry I havent' been on this link yet. Things are crazy. Don't know if any of you saw on the site that I posted prayers needed for DD. Our baby Hannah has to go in for surgery in the am. She has gotten MRSA and has to go in to have the infection removed. I am so scared. I need prayers that all is okay. this is our 3rd time with MRSA, DD1 first, then my mom, now my baby. Her godmother is a surgeon so she is going in the OR with her. Other wise I dont' know what I would do.
I am saying prayers for little Hannah and for all of you!!:grouphug: This must be so scary for you!

And here I've been thinking I was older than you & you're a whole year odler than me (born Nov '75).
WHAT-EVER!! :snooty: ;)

as a quilter cutting on the bias meant anything that was opposite the grain- so it could still be cut straight off the width of the fabric.
But the pattern I'm starting wants me to lay these long pattern pieces diagonally across my fabric- making a LOT of waste- what are the pros and cons of not cutting it that way?
I would think it would be okay if you didn't cut them on the bias. I've never cut ruffles on the bias before. I think the reason they have you doing it on this outfit is so it's easier to get the ruffles to go around the curves. But, it should work the other way, I would think.

Wow, I had no idea you were so old!

Oh my goodness, these baby pictures have my heart longing for another baby!!!

1)Well, you should hear how OLD my big sister is!!
2)Me too!! Anyone want to be my surrogate??

Let me tell you - I can totally relate to you with the symphisis thing. Had that with Ella - started at about 21 weeks or so and my OB would not believe me or listen to me when I was describing the pain to him. I got really fed up and started searching for a diagnosis. Finally, I found some literature, printed it off and presented it to my OB. Finally, at about 36 weeks or so, he said he would write a referral to a physical therapist specializing in in the "pelvic floor." So I call to make an appointment - and the earliest I could get was two weeks - so that put me at 38 weeks pregnant and there was no guarantee that it would help - so I just said forget it. I'm still so angry even when I think about it. Maybe if my OB had listened to me, I could have gotten some relief. I wanted to grab him by the collar, shake him and holler "If you had to walk around all day with your boy parts aching and throbbing, I'm certain that things would be different!"

I had just transferred to work at a new hospital, so I really needed to save PTO for my maternity leave. So I worked full time - three 12 hour shifts - until 38 weeks. I was literally choking back tears by about half way through each shift because of the pain.

So, this was a long, drawn out way of saying that I feel your pain (literally) and I understand your hesitation! It's one of the reasons why we're not sure whether to have another or not also. That and the bad, bad things that happen after I have babies.

Whatever you decide, you know we're here for you - grumpiness and all!!!
How frustrating!!! Doctors who don't listen (which are most of them, in my experience) just make me so MAD!!!! They should always listen to you if you say you're in pain and think something's wrong. Sadly, most of them don't.

It's gorgeous!!! I love how it looks with the smaller dots, too. I think you cased my sister! Yay Teresa!

Wow!! :worship: :worship: :worship: I can't imagine how much time and love went into those quilts. What wonderful gifts!

This is my little baby you are talking about! Look at that baby face, he doesn't have a crush on ANYONE! :snooty:
BabyCoreycrawling-1.jpg
I saw this picture before I read that you posted it and I thought "What a gorgeous baby!" Yes, he was the most beautiful baby I've ever seen, even as a newborn!

that his very talented auntie made for him when she first made it? You know the one I'm talking aboutI know it looked so cute on him what was it last year when he modeled it.
I don't think he ever wore it! The only picture we have of him in it is when he was 15! :rotfl:

OH, and Carla has the cutest new pattern for ruffled capris, but here is my dilemna! It is 3 seperate patterns one for sizes 1-2-3, then sizes 4-5-6, then 6x-8 I usually make Lily a size 3, but I don't know if I want to buy that size when she will grow out of it so soon. I am not sure if I am talented enough to "downsize" the size 4-5-6 to fit her. Which one would you buy if you were me? I need this pattern though.

I'm having a similar issue with that. Tessa wears a size 2 or 3 for her waist and either a 6 or 7 for the length. So, I don't know what size pattern I would buy. I really like it when they put all the sizes in one pattern- that's one of the main reasons I like YCMT! The pattern looks really cute, though.

Oh no! Poor baby and POOR MOM!!! We all make mistakes, you are not a bad mom!!

I am just curious about something with the YCMT ruffled capri's. I have never ordered a pattern from YCMT, so this may be a really stupid question.

What makes these ruffled capri's any different than say McCall's capri pattern with ruffles attached?

Am I missing something here?

They probably look pretty similar to those pants when they're done. The great thing about CarlaC's YCMT patterns is her wonderful instructions. She always give really useful tips that you can even use for other things, and they're super simple to follow! All YCMT patterns are not created equal, though!

Here's a little Ottobre wrap dress I made for Gabi to wear around recently :) I really like it :) I have made more things including a new set I'm in love with but a lack of sunshine and a love of natural light photography mean no pics yet :)

Hi!
:wave2:
I'm here to address ruffled capri questions :) !

I am just curious about something with the YCMT ruffled capri's. I have never ordered a pattern from YCMT, so this may be a really stupid question.

What makes these ruffled capri's any different than say McCall's capri pattern with ruffles attached?

Am I missing something here?

Not a stupid question at all! The ruffled capris are the first of a line of patterns that will be exclusive to YCMT (meaning you won't find them in stores or on other websites). They are different from commercial patterns in that they come with many pages of instructions complete with photographs and diagrams. The patterns themselves are different, too. The different seams are color coded and numerically ordered so that it is easier to follow along with the instructions. They are actually hand-drafted using slopers and traditional pattern-making techniques, and then converted into electronic format (by yours truly :teeth:). From what I understand, commercial patterns are often drawn in one size and then graded up or down to other sizes, and that is why things are sometimes off. Lots of love and testing have gone into these YCMT patterns  .

So most of the eBooks on YCMT are for making things in a set size range. Some are just for babies or toddlers, some are for tweens, and some are for all sizes. It is totally up to the author (I usually do about 1-8 depending on the style and age appropriateness). We decided to split the patterns up by size (like commercial patterns) to keep things simple with regards to yardage requirements, ruffle widths, cutting layouts, etc. We decided to group them like we did so there would be a good range for toddlers, little kids, and tweens. They are also priced more like a commercial pattern.

As far as sizing goes, these pants are designed to have a pretty generous fit. If your child is slim, I would recommend going with a smaller size range. There are cutting lines for a big range of lengths, so even if your little one is 3 in the hips, but as tall as a size 5, you should be fine with the 1-3s (hope that made sense).

Another thing that makes the YCMT patterns different than the other eBooks is that they are a collaborative effort and the copyright is held by the site rather than an individual author. The instructions for the capris were actually written by Kim. She is a former teacher, and has a wonderful gift for explaining things. She also came up with the design concept. She enlisted me to draft the patterns and do some of the graphics. We did the same thing with the "Loves me Knot" handbag :) . She is a blast to work with! She's given me some amazing sketches for future patterns, and I'm so excited to bring them to life.

I'm still working on my SewBoutique4Dolly eBooks, too :thumbsup2 . Right now I'm working on one for boys and girls. Louie has about 5 of these shirts now:

OK - hope this answers your questions about the new patterns. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know :) .

Love all the info--that was interesting! But I'm still nervous to buy a size 1-2-3 pattern when she wears a size 3 now :scared: And do hurry on that boys' shirt pattern--I need that! Our trip is coming up in October! :rotfl: It looks very cute on Louie!

MISS CAMMIE I'm just sayin'---SOOOOO worth a million needle pokes!!;)

Um okay I completely BURST...loudly...into tears over those pictures! Hand over my mouth crying like a big baby! What gorgeous gorgeous children!! And Luke too! Absolutely scrumptious little munchkins. I remember well when teddy was 3...where have the years gone. He looks like a little man. It's killing me how big he's getting...both front teeth gone...angles all over the place. Although the crocs we got for him are HUGE. He woke up this morning and wanted to know if he'd grown into them overnight..seeing as how he IS six now!

You're the sweetest mean person I know! I hope you will keep me in mind for Sally's future boutique outfit needs. Well, not needs or expectations, but a nice outfit for Disney so she can feel special! :flower3:

AWWWW thank you!!! I snapped a pic JUST FOR YOU last night!!!

here's my baby...settling for the DOG bed b/c his mama was working too late!

Sally does actually have some boutique needs! MissCammie has got herself some IDEAS!!!! Shall I PM you?

:cool1:

for all y'all believers in Half Birthdays!!! I knew I wasn't alone!!!:woohoo:

and here's a sort of pic of Teddy and his new Webkinz he opened this morning!

Teddy actually needs a little prayer this morning...his birthday morning...yesterday he and a few of his partners in crime decided it would be a good idea to plug up FOUR bathroom sinks, turn on the sinks and leave the bathroom. They flooded the entire bathroom and a good part of the hallway. This is the fourth time in two weeks he's been in some actual trouble. AND he fibbed about it. Somebody thought it was funny when she was told what had happened. Laughed about it. In front of him. So now he is laughing about it and probably planning his next bit of naughtiness.

this is a trend lately. It's concerning. And frustrating.

I have been saying prayers to St. Jude for him all morning...the Patron Saint of Lost Causes! Cuz his goose is COOKED on this one. Has to see the principal on his birthday. Had his classroom cupcake privileges revoked.

I'm worried about my little Teddy. HOw is he ever going to know what is right and wrong when one half of his life excuses away and laughs at rather serious situations?

:confused3

yay step parenting ROCKS!;)

OH and Nurse CrabbyRump at the office was none to happy to see me this morning...rash is mostly gone...and it WAS the detergent...but she made a nasty face at me when i came in AND when she weighed me she told me that I looked unhealthy and being too thin is unattractive...

wow.

Did that nurse just call me ugly?!

and I'm NOT too thin.

I just need a sewing machine.

and the ability to sew.

So I can make clothes that fit me properly.

*ahem*

Carla-

I have bought almost all of your books. I do wish you continued with the 1-8 size range because I have two girls. My younger daughter is a small 2 and my older daughter is a 5/6. I would be more than likely to buy the capri pattern if it would fit both girls. Honestly, I can see myself using a store capri pattern and adding ruffles instead of buying two seperate patterns. This is just MHO. I have been very happy with all the patterns I have bought and I am sure this one is great too!
