Does anyone know of a good way to get out grease stains. I'm forever finding grease marks on my girls pants from them dropping food in their laps. Of course, I never notice until I go to iron them so they can be worn again. Any help??

sorry I havent' been on this link yet. Things are crazy. Don't know if any of you saw on the site that I posted prayers needed for DD. Our baby Hannah has to go in for surgery in the am. She has gotten MRSA and has to go in to have the infection removed. I am so scared. I need prayers that all is okay. this is our 3rd time with MRSA, DD1 first, then my mom, now my baby. Her godmother is a surgeon so she is going in the OR with her. Other wise I dont' know what I would do.

Hugs for you and prayers for Hannah! (and you) That must be very scary for you. I'm sure she will be in good hands and all will go well. :grouphug:

I LOVE THE DONALD OUTFIT!!!

cutting out ruffles....
as a quilter cutting on the bias meant anything that was opposite the grain- so it could still be cut straight off the width of the fabric.
But the pattern I'm starting wants me to lay these long pattern pieces diagonally across my fabric- making a LOT of waste- what are the pros and cons of not cutting it that way? The fabric I plan to use for the ruffles was purchased to be the backing for a quilt- Id like to cut it in a conservative way if I can.
here's the pattern
6689.jpg

just read 3 reviews of this pattern and some metioned not cutting diagonally and it went fine.
What do you folks do?

FortheluvofPooh-Prayers for your little girl!!! And prayers for YOU too! Peace and strength be with you while you wait for her.

100AcrePrincess-Grease stains- and stains of all sorts- Advanced Shout I think its called- little blue spray bottle. Spray, let it sit, spray again ans wash in cold, still there spray and wash again. It rarely doesnt get a stain out for me.
My great gandfather wrote down a bunch of tricks and stuff for remedies of all sorts-Ill take a look in there (back of family cookbook) for grease removing tips

LisaZoe-Tink/TeresaJoy-Enchanted- I meant to tell you that outfit you posted was out of this world, you are one talented sewer! I really wish there were some clothes making classes around here and heirloom classes- so I could sew like that!

I am way behind reading and writing trip reports and here but we had an unexpected house guest so I do have an excuse. It is the kid's favorite almost-uncle, my husband's sister's boyfriend. He is looking for a job because he wants to move down here (with my SIL)! I am very excited!

You should sell them!!! I wonder if Lydia will need one next year. None of my other kids had them. But, Lydia will go all day every single stinkin stupid day. (Not that I'm letting myself get all upset at just the THOUGHT of my baby. MY BABY! being away from me so much, no not me! :rolleyes1 ) Good thing I like the teacher.

Aw, don't worry. Soon she'll be off, eager to get on the bus and forget to say good-bye to her mother she's so excited to go to school. :sad2: Why do they have to grow?

that's kind of where I'm at...the kids sort of expect things. They were REALLY into the webkinz thing for a while. They still are but not as crazy as before. It got to be a competition to see who could buy them the ones they wanted first. (Between Jay and I, their mom and her parents. They always "won".) I got annoyed after having to take back a few...one of which couldn't be returned so now it's MINE...I've quit trying. Sally has over 20. It's a little out of hand. We did get them webkinz for their birthday but only b/c it was "buy one get one free" at Limited too...and it was the OLD ones. I got Sally the blue hippo and Teddy got a leopard. I know that Sally will love it no matter what, but she knows which ones are new and which ones aren't. But she also knows that any fussing about such a thing would result in her wicked step mama taking ownership of the "unwanted" webkinz. Cuz I'm mean.:flower3:

You're the sweetest mean person I know! I hope you will keep me in mind for Sally's future boutique outfit needs. Well, not needs or expectations, but a nice outfit for Disney so she can feel special! :flower3:

Love the funky ruffle on the bottom of the pants. And those shoes are to die for: you are truly an artist! :lovestruc

Thank you! I have thousands of fonts but it takes me some time to find the right one. I bookmarked that site: thanks again!

Brianna wants Giselle's Yellow outfit. Is anyone going to even recognize it??

I have it half done. I used an adorable yellow eyelet. I'll post pics tomorrow after I finish it.

I can't wait to see pictures of it. I tried to google pictures of it in the movie, but came up empty. Did anyone find pictures of the original?

You are awesome! It is perfection and I hope you do get the math down so maybe I can try to attempt it someday.

HELLO?? He's 15 yrs old...he probably thinks that princess is hot! Of course he would remember what she is wearing!! HAHAHAHAHA:lmao: :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Poor Teresa!

I made dd4 a skirt for dd1's Mickey birthday party & now I'm not entirely sure what shirt to make to go with it. I was thinking a peasant top with Mickey on the front. I have enough plain white to make one, but I'm not sure how that would look. Would it be better to get white w/black polka dots for the shirt?

This is the skirt:

TIA

I love the red fabric with black and white polka dots!! There was an outfit on :wizard: with this combo - it took everything I had not to buy it (who cares if my daughter wouldn't be able to wear it for another 5 years :lmao: )

thanks for the info on the brother machine!! I think I'm going to ask for one for my "half" birthday!

YES there is such a thing...

there is!

I SWEAR!

;)

I too believe in half-birthdays... ever since my aunt got a sports car for her half-birthday. Somehow I haven't yet convinced my DH.

I NEEEEEED an embroidery machine!!! Really really bad!

I am bound and determined to have an embroidery machine by the end of the year.

After seeing that adorable Goofy fabric yesterday I went searching :wizard: just to see if there was anything Goofy out there... well here is what I bought this morning:

Well, they pretty much gaurantee Ill get the symphisis again (pubic bone seperates too much too early= painful to sleep, walk, etc. and my gastro Dr told me to "get a new husband" when I told him DH wants another- I now have Barrett's esophgus (pre-cancerous, but not likely to turn to cancer)
I too suffered from that awful "morning sickness" which is such a joke they should call it "ALL the time sickness"LOL. DH said he might see if he can work something out so he can work from home once I cant lift/walk. We cant really afford (in this area its about 35k for part time help, plus a finders fee to go thru a company) to hire someone to take care of me and DD so I may just have to cope. The idea of 2 children at WDW sounds like fun, I see pics of others with multiple kids and think- Now THAT'S a family. But from PG to baby's 1st bday I was not a happy person. By about 15months I was able to power walk. Its doable. So IF I do this- y'all will support me and be nice on the days Im grumpy right?:rotfl:

We can put up with you being grumpy! I'm sorry that it will happen again for you though. When can your oldest start preschool? I know it's hard to let them go but if it gave you a break a few days a week it might make it more manageable???? My youngest is only 33 months and she still wants me to hold her but she weighs about 42 pounds and doesn't support herself at all. With this third pregnancy I just have to tell her I can't hold her unless I'm sitting down. She is just too much for me to hold right now but getting her in the car seat is a different story. She is pretty good and can sit in it and I just buckle her in now. Every once in a while she gets a "whim" and wants to be difficult and won't sit nicely and I do have to lift her into it but overall it has worked out pretty well. Of course I still have 12-13 weeks left so ask me if I'm still singing this tune then!:rotfl2:

Alright, this is what I got done so far today. I have had this outfit planned out for so long. I finally decided that it had to be done today.
th_S2010135.jpg

And just in case the front isn't cute enough I did this to the back.
th_S2010136.jpg

In case anybody is wondering the Donald Duck image is a pillow panel that I found on :wizard: . I haven't seen anything like it since then. I take that back there is a panel listed right now on :wizard:

How cute! Love the Donald!

Oh prayers are being sent your way! Is her godmother doing the surgery? Either way she'll take care of her. My father's best friend is a doctor (ob/gyn) and was my doctor until I moved away (I KNOW EVERYONE THINKS IT IS WEIRD!) and I always felt that no one would take better care of me than someone who loves me and my family. He is a fantastic doctor anyway but he always took very good care of me (and I never had to wait for more than a minute or two in the waiting room!). My thoughts and prayers are with you during this.

I was at Walmart when "the headache" came on and didn't want to drink diet coke so I chose the iced coffee. Shhhh, don't tell my Mormon friends. I feel guilty and naughty all at the same time.

We all mess up. . . the WoW can be tough. . . I am lucky I am satisfied with soda (seems like east coast LDS people don't read it as all caffeine, U mean it does say HOT DRINKS ;) ) but DH has iced tea once in a while, lol, and he definitely feels guilty. . . but we do our best :)

MISS CAMMIE I'm just sayin'---SOOOOO worth a million needle pokes!!;)

AWWW - I cannot wait. DH and I are going to start trying at the end of this year. I NEED to lose some weight and I have to get my cancer all clear (was diagnosed almost 5 years ago). . . I definitely have the baby bug, but we have to wait for the all clear, and in the mean time I need to get some lbs off (will be better for me and hopefully future babies).

I REALLY like this fabric. . . goofy has always been my second favorite Disney Character (after Tigger). . .

Thanks, thats nice of you to say! My first will be 2 April 21st.

Goofy fabric- now how come when I went and seached for Goofy fabric I could only find that in Bowling shoe covers!

WANTED- pattern for Men's hawian style shirt (was thinking of doing matching shirt for DH to go with DD's Mickey outfit) anyone has suggestions?

Thanks for the vote of confidence stephres! (

No problem at all, can't wait to see it. Are you done yet (can you tell I'm impatient)?

Wow Stacy, I love all of these! I wish I was sewing when my son was little, they are all so great! I especially love your constructed madras and may have to CASE that for sure!

So cute! I'm glad she liked it!

I don't know. I become very crazy when I put Norah in something "nice-nice". Like she'll just spill something or wipe her nose on it (to name a couple)

SO? How's everyone's diets going????

I started again last Friday with a vengence. Today my TMJ (jaw joint near my left ear) is TOTALLY out of whack. I can't even open my mouth today!!! Which is great for the diet, I'd say. I ve just had soup and sugar free jello.

Did I tell you guys I've conquered my caffeine addiction? I ONLY drink it if I feel "the headache" coming on. That alone had helped me drop some weight this week, I think. Instead, I'm drinking cherry Crystal Lite. I DID drink a sugar free iced coffee from McDonalds. I was at Walmart when "the headache" came on and didn't want to drink diet coke so I chose the iced coffee. Shhhh, don't tell my Mormon friends. I feel guilty and naughty all at the same time.

1) I have some everyday summer stuff in my head to do so I will stop making her stuff she can't wear. Although Megan likes to dress fancy for any occasion.
2) I have TMJ too, but not to that extent. Do you have a mouth guard or does that not help? My dentist wants me to get braces because I have a mouthful of crooked teeth and he thinks braces might help with the TMJ as well. He told me that it was amazing that I keep my teeth so clean because they were so crooked on the bottom! I didn't know whether to be :goodvibes or
3) I lost five pounds before Disney and promptly gained it back while there. I am down a net loss of one pound since I started trying to watch my weight. I think I gave up though because I went to Target and bought some capris in the next size up. Shhhhh!
4) Congratulations on the caffeine thing. I am horrible about it and it makes me so cranky. You'll be feeling great soon I bet.

How cute is this! That is definitely something you don't see every day: great job!

 for you and prayers for Hannah and your family.

Well, someone just sent me a long painful e-mail I should probably try to think of something encouraging to say back before my bedtime. I really suck at that. Oh, some notes:

1) I have a chicken pox scar on my chest that the kids are always interested in. I used to be so embarrassed of it.
2) Corey has a crush on a princess, hee!
3) I can't remember what else, shoot!

Good night!

Here's Tink On. She loves it:

th_DSCN0868.jpg

Aww, she looks adorable in it!!!

Lilygator- I sent you a pm.

Does this happen to anyone else?
I finished that outfit for DD and was so excited to get going on the next project, then I couldnt decide which fabric, or which pattern. Here it is 3 days later- and I havent done anything yet!!! QUOTE]
YES! It annoys me to no end!!! I get so stuck trying to figure out exactly what I want and how I'm going to make it, and what fabric to use....

I'm falling behind again, but I just wanted to let everyone know I updated my trip report!

Good girl!!!

Love the tink dress .The boy sets posted are adorable!Im so jealous of embroidery machines! such cute stuff yall! keep it coming.
I managed to get some more bows done today.just messing around lol.
since jorja has NO hair,Im forced to make clippies on a headband for right now lol.

th_IMG_1881.jpg

Oh my goodness!!! How cute is tht baby!!!! And the bows are adorable!!!!

Just getting caught up from yesterday! Teresa, that Giselle shirt is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love it!
Thanks Lori!
OK, so all the petti talk is making me think that Ella NEEDS one. Like if I deprive her of the yards and yards of chiffon twirliness, she'll probably end up in therapy, right? So I may as well just buy her one now to save money later, right? ;) :rotfl:

So, seeing that this is an absoulte necessity, what size do you guys think she would need? She can wear a 3T in some things, but also wears a 4T. I was thinking that the 4-5 might be ginormous on her, but that the 2-3 may be smallish? I don't know! All you petti experts, what size would you get?

Like Lisa said the waist is very adjustable, I would go long if I were you.

Teresa's Giselle top--Jayden REALLY wants that dress!
Thanks! Jayden does need one of those!
Hey, I'm 33 (born in Nov. '74)!! That's just wrong!! :sad2:
Wow, I had no idea you were so old!

Oh my goodness, these baby pictures have my heart longing for another baby!!! Such GORGEOUS children you have!!!

Where is Luke though?

Hmmm, a wedding? Christening? Baptism? Easter? Christmas? Disneyworld? Why indeed. None of us would be caught dead beautifully overdressing a child under 6. ;)

Nope, not us!

So IF I do this- y'all will support me and be nice on the days Im grumpy right?:rotfl:

I fell off the wagon a few weeks agok, but yesterday I set my mind to get back on track!!! So, hopefully I will follow through with that!!!

Hmm, it was cold coffe, so does that make it ok?? You naughty naughty girl!!!

Alright, this is what I got done so far today. I have had this outfit planned out for so long. I finally decided that it had to be done today.

Sydni would go NUTS over this outfit! Donald is her all time fave! Sooo cute!
We love Donald too!! Jenna and I like Donald for the same reason...The fits that he throws. He is so funny when he gets angry.

Major prayers coming your way. I hope that after the surgery all of the MRSA will be gone from ya'll's lives forever.
Does anyone know of a good way to get out grease stains. I'm forever finding grease marks on my girls pants from them dropping food in their laps. Of course, I never notice until I go to iron them so they can be worn again. Any help??
I use Dawn dish soap. Shout also works too, just be careful to read the ingredients some of them contain Bleach.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the Donald outfit. You just don't see much clothing with Donald on it.

Let me tell you - I can totally relate to you with the symphisis thing. Had that with Ella - started at about 21 weeks or so and my OB would not believe me or listen to me when I was describing the pain to him. I got really fed up and started searching for a diagnosis. Finally, I found some literature, printed it off and presented it to my OB. Finally, at about 36 weeks or so, he said he would write a referral to a physical therapist specializing in in the "pelvic floor." So I call to make an appointment - and the earliest I could get was two weeks - so that put me at 38 weeks pregnant and there was no guarantee that it would help - so I just said forget it. I'm still so angry even when I think about it. Maybe if my OB had listened to me, I could have gotten some relief. I wanted to grab him by the collar, shake him and holler "If you had to walk around all day with your boy parts aching and throbbing, I'm certain that things would be different!"

I had just transferred to work at a new hospital, so I really needed to save PTO for my maternity leave. So I worked full time - three 12 hour shifts - until 38 weeks. I was literally choking back tears by about half way through each shift because of the pain.

So, this was a long, drawn out way of saying that I feel your pain (literally) and I understand your hesitation! It's one of the reasons why we're not sure whether to have another or not also. That and the bad, bad things that happen after I have babies.

Whatever you decide, you know we're here for you - grumpiness and all!!!

I need a break. :headache:

This dress kicked my tush. :headache: I don't like it, but I don't think I have the time to make a new one. The ruffles didn't work right, then my serger decided to have a fight with me. It's a MESS. :headache:

This is the outfit with the shorts tutorial fabric...For AK and the Zoo (we got o the zoo a lot, so this is a multi-purpose outfit)

love this dress even if it was a pain!! Cute shorts outfit!
I just thought I'd let you all know that Target has princess sock in the dollar bins. It looked like they had Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella through a size 2-4 & Cinderella, Ariel, and Snow White from 2-4 to 6-8.

Also, a question.

I made dd4 a skirt for dd1's Mickey birthday party & now I'm not entirely sure what shirt to make to go with it. I was thinking a peasant top with Mickey on the front. these are great and I agree with PP about the white shirt

No problem at all, can't wait to see it. Are you done yet (can you tell I'm impatient)?

Not at all. ;) I haven't done it yet; I guess it needs to be saturday. especially because her birthday is the 17th... and it has to be mailed.... I better get cracking...

I DO finally have the pictures from my sister. And enough posts to show you guys these... I realize it's the same pattern, but they are different... I promise! Ok, maybe not by much, but I want to share them all anyway. The purple one is for a cousin, the others are for two of my sister in laws. One is due May 1st. I can't wait!!!
