Hi All! Once again I've gotten behind on this thread. I think I'm going to make one last apology for not being able to keep up. :-)

Anyway, I finally had a chance to make the pants to go with Zoe's Tink top/dress. Here's the finished set:

th_tink_pout3.jpg

I also decided to try painting some shoes since I already had a pair on hand that I'd bought a few months ago to experiment on. It was a lot of fun picking different patterns from the prints I used to replicate on sections of the shoes. I'd initially planned to have the shoes basically the same but after I did one, I decided to make the other one totally different. I think they still look like a pair even if they aren't the same. :)

th_tink_shoes1.jpg

th_tink_shoes2.jpg

I have a feeling I'll be tempted to make a matching pair of shoes for each set... and Zoe already has more shoes than one little girl needs. LOL Hopefully my practical side will prevail...

Oh my gosh! THose are too cute! How did you do them? I love it!

I have a bunch of fabric paint so I used that. I think regular acrylic paint would work, too, although I'd make sure to use the special medium for painting on fabric. I used a pencil to draw some of the bubbles and Tink then started painting. Some of the colors aren't as bright as I'd like but I think they are close enough to a match of the colors of the fabric.

This is a wonderful outfit! You did an amazing job!

My future stepkids (in my dreams, not reality. :) ) are spoiled and I hardly even spend money on them!
I got them a few thing for Easter, I've been buying games that we can all play and I brought Camden (the 5 year old) an old watch and an old cell phone to play with (I love free gifts. heh) - point is, almost everytime I see them, I end up giving them something.
So last week, when I was leaving, Camden said "Didn't you bring me a present?"
and I replied "No. I don't want you to get spoiled."
And I arched my eyebrow.
I think I'm getting the hang of the wicked stepmother thing.
Now to convince their dad.
ha.

But I'm such a kid at heart! I see stuff all the time I want to get for them (mainly so I can play with it too).

Good job on the arch thing! :thumbsup2

Uh...Oops. I have a PTR (2 actually, but one's a group trip)....links in my siggie. i will probably start a new TR when I get back.

Ok, I'll let it go this time, since you did post it now! ;)

Yes it helps thank you!!! We also thought of just one friend a piece, but b/c of the "move" the kids don't see their friends as often as I'd like them to. So we did two friends a piece. Teddy's party at his mother's house will have...y'all aren't going to believe this...40 kids! There are no words. It's way way WAY over the top. And very intentionally so. Whatevs...you reap what you sew.

FOURTY KIDS!!! Goodness gracious! Who watches them all??? :scared1:
I haven't posted since the first disboutique thread since we went in November. I actually haven't even sewn anything since then :scared1: . Our next trip probably won't be until 2010 and seeing all the great customs makes me :sad1: .

Anyway, there is a 9 year old girl at our church that I would like to make something for. Their family just started coming to our church and the mom is a friend of a friend so I know her and I don't think she'd be offended, I've made a bunch of stuff for my friend's DD. The family doesn't have much money and the girl's clothes all come from resale shops (not that there's anything wrong with that but you don't find much in a small town resale shop) and everything I've seen this girl wear does not fit her and is so old. I know some of you here have older girls, since I have a 2 yr old I have no idea what would be appropriate for a 9 year old. Or, at least tell me what would be too babyish. Oh, and it has to be easy! I can handle the YCMT patterns pretty well.

Also, I just started my TR....

I really love the tween flare skirt from YCMT, it is REALLY easy, and turns out so cute!!! I've made Arminda an a-line skirt she really likes too. Jham posted a tutorial for a simple skirt. I put it in the blog and bookmarked it.

Lisa, I love the outfits, and the shoes are adorable!!! You did a fantastic job!

I just have to say that I am growing more obsessed with this thread each day! :lmao: I don't have the opportunity to respond to each and every post, but there are so many talented people on this thread!

Since I have started reading this- within the last 2 weeks- I have purchased over 25 yards of fabric and many patterns off the you can make this site which I didn't even know existed until I read this thread!

The kicker is I don't even sew :rotfl2: But my mom does- I am sure she will be overjoyed with the amount of work I now have for her to do for our upcoming trip:rotfl2:

Anyway- just wanted to say how much I am enjoying all of these customs you all are creating!

She wants to be "Mrs Princess Goofy"Help me figure out how to girly/princess this up please! She wants a dress... Maybe a peasant dress in red with a pinafore of this print???? ruffles in another color???? Help! :cutie: :goofy: (I have 3-4 yards to use of this goofy material)

Super Cute- My grammy made my dh & ds matching shirts and ds got a pair of shorts too with the same flame fabric. And Good Luck at the dentist. I am glad to say I'm done until august- I hope!!
thanks , i am almost finished just maybe 4 more visits..

Ok, coming out of lurkdom again. I posted my first sewing project
a while back... the blue and yellow patchwork twirl skirt that went
with the cinderella shirt.

Here are my newest attempts...

Simple halter Ariel dress
th_ArielDress.jpg

Tink halter shirt
th_TinkShirt.jpg

A patchwork "pirate" twirl skirt (The red really does go, I promise. The
pirate prints have that kind of red color in them. It just sticks out like a
sore thumb in this picture.) The shirt is a iron-on from Michaels. It has
more pieces in the package and I'm thinking of adding in some more of
something to punch it up a little.
th_PirateOutfit.jpg

And finally, I didn't sew these, but... made them none the less.

way cute

My official diagnosis is...if you are feeling okay, I would just manage the symptoms until they subside. If you are itchy, use medicated itch cream, and I would change detergents, just to see if you're husbands trying to kill you..
You can have a titre/ titer( spelling ?)drawn to see if you're still immune.
If not, go get your MMR. I had to have one recently, and they aren't cheap.
I hope you are feeling better soon!
Now that will be $100 please..
:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hello, all! I've been tending to a sick baby for about a week, and now guess what?.... I'M home sick today! Sore throat, snotty nose, blech!

Anyway, I finally finished the "Lucky" outfit. Here are pictures of the front and back. Hopefully Kimberly will post pics of the outfit on her daughter after she receives it this week....

I have a Build a Bear question for anyone who has done Build a Bear parties!

Did your birthday boy or girl get to go above and beyond the "fixed" amount the party? Meaning, the "guest of honor" has a bear with an entire outfit including shoes and accessories while the other party guests have bare footed bears with maybe a t-shirt and a pair of shorts? Each guest will have $25 to spend, and I'm of the opinion that $25 is more than enough for Sally and Teddy to have nice bears with a cute outfit without having to go lavishly over board. Especially since they'll have had a ton of other gifts from family.

I guess I'm a little uncomfortable with the "Look what I got and YOU didn't" concept. It bugs me. It could be a childhood thing...our mom didn't let us win game prizes at our own birthday parties. We could play the games, but if we "won" the second place person got the prize instead...it was our birthday after all and we were getting gifts from everyone already.

Any thoughts? I want the kids to have a great day, but I also want them to get the concept of being satisfied with what they've got and not needing "MORE", birthday or not.

Could be that wicked step mother thing.

:goodvibes
okay!! i have done a build a bear party for jayedyn every yr it seem's (right Wendy?) and i just write on my invite that the party limit is $25 and that they can choose whatever they want to spend it on (bear and outfit ,ect.) if they want extra stuff that they need to earn Money and bring it with them. i have no fights or crying because then the parents are also Re-inerating what i have said .. of course my kiddo gets a lot more because that is part of her presents ,;) i have had some of her friends buy outfits for her bear as a gift or just give her a present but in all it has worked out..
Hope that helps

Hey ALl! Thanks for the compliments on the outfits....sick of them yet? :rotfl2: This is what I did today:

Love :lovestruc the lucky outfit! The letters are just perfect. Can I ask what font you used or did you just wing it? The minnie dress is great too, just too cute.

Of course you can ask! I used the whimsical font found here:
http://www.jcarolinecreative.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=JC&Screen=STENCIL_WHIM

Wow! I thought you had an embroidery machine. Those letters look great!! Love the minnie dot outfit, too! Sawyer also does the "Edie" when I try to get his picture.

Thanks! Edie starts rolling as soon as she sees the camera...

I love these! Especially the pain in the booty candy!

So pretty and unique! I love your huge applique!

:goofy:

What a cute idea! I think any really girly pattern would look cute made up with your Goofy fabric and some prints in coordinating colors. And some really fluffy coordinating bows. We go to Disney in a couple of weeks, and I hope my daughter (who is not yet 2 years old) is not terrified of the characters.

I finally broke down and bought the peasant dress/top from YCMT. I figure we can get a lot of use out of it. I really would like to make some nightgowns from this pattern too!

I'll have to drag this material off to the fabric shop with me. I'm waiting until after vacation to tackle something for her!

We are headed to Florida in 2 weeks... We fly in to Tampa on the 22nd and Head to Disney on the 27 till May 4th. We are helping my neice and then attending her wedding on the 26th and then the real vacation begins!. I need sunshine so bad! Have a wonderful VACATION!

hi all! I found some little enistiens fabric at hancock and I am trying to track down a little enistiens dress thast was posted a while back. It had a yellow top with rocket on it. Does anyone remember what page or have the link?

The TS on HSN today (04/08/08) is a singer sewing/embroidery machine. It connects to a computer, providing a lot of embroidery versatility. It's $600 + tax (S&H is included).

If only I had use for an embroidery machine... ;)

I haven't gone online to see if they're still in stock, but I think the regular HSN price is around $900 or so.

I don't think that material is goofy at all. I think it is cute. :rotfl2:

I think that a pretty twirl skirt and a peasant top would be cute.

Uhoh! I almost fell off the list! I'll have to post more!

I didn't even make the list. I am just too busy sometimes to post, but I am sure enjoying everyone's projects. :)

PS You see the Snow White costume my little one is wearing in my siggy? I made it! :thumbsup2
