I'm so excited... I got the fusible web and interfacing to try the "she loves me, she loves me knot" bag. I loved all the ones I saw on here so decided I was going to try it for my sister's birthday. It'll be the first non-quilt item I've ever sewed. :scared:

I love those bags, I have made four of them so far. It is so easy you will fine!

For those of you that said a prayer for my FIL, thank you! He came through surgery ok, and now in ICU. Hopefully he will be well enough to go into his own room tomorrow. The doctor was hopeful that he got all the cancer, but we will know for sure on Wednesday. It is nice to know I have friends in mickey-cyberland! LOL!

All of the new customs are so cute, I haven't had a chance to create much new stuff in the last few weeks, but I will take a lot of pics on my trip!

Glad everything is going well for him. Hope he gets to come home soon. My FIL went through the same thing last winter and he is fine now!

Cute! The wine bags look great too. Both my kids love to pick out fabric for pjs too, even the boy.

Wow! I have been on the puter too much this last week. I did start sewing last night. Made a boo boo. Attached the entire skirt part of the dress to the bodice instead of just the front of it. Love that seam ripper. I did gather it right! This is the first thing I am making totally on my own since I made a dress for my daughter 10 years ago! going to dm's today for a little help and encouragement.

Aww! I hope you get it all fixed and we can see it!

The Ariel top looks really good! I finally bought the panel at our Walmart a few weeks ago.

Thanks for all the encouragement for the portrait peasant dress pattern. I took the plunge and am finishing 2 dresses for DD6 and DD4. They are SEW easy! It's the first time I've used a pattern and the first time I did sleeves. They are almost finished. I'll take pics when the girls try them on. Probably a few days yet.

Can't wait to see what you make. I love that pattern!

Glad that the surgery went well, and sending him lots of prayers for a speedy recovery.

LOVE this fabric! I finally found the blue at Joann's yesterday for $5/yard. What a great deal you got! Kind of wish I would have found this first :)

I found some at my Joann's as well on Saturday. I went back there yesterday,a nd they were all gone.

Ok, coming out of lurkdom again. I posted my first sewing project
a while back... the blue and yellow patchwork twirl skirt that went
with the cinderella shirt.

Here are my newest attempts...

Simple halter Ariel dress
ArielDress.jpg

Tink halter shirt
TinkShirt.jpg

A patchwork "pirate" twirl skirt (The red really does go, I promise. The
pirate prints have that kind of red color in them. It just sticks out like a
sore thumb in this picture.) The shirt is a iron-on from Michaels. It has
more pieces in the package and I'm thinking of adding in some more of
something to punch it up a little.
PirateOutfit.jpg

And finally, I didn't sew these, but... made them none the less.
TieDyeMickeys.jpg

My first little creations are nothing compared to the truly boutique
items many of you make, but I am pretty proud of them none the
less. And... DD is in love with them, and that's the most important
thing, right?

Thanks again for the inspiration and encouragement or I would have
never even attempted these!

I love all of this, but I can not tie dye to save my life. Jenna and I have a tie dye kit, but I am so afraid to do anything with it. I'm afraid that I will mess it up.

I LOVE this!! That sash just sets it off! She looks absolutely adorable, too!
It's ALWAYS a good idea to plan a birthday party based on your fabric stash. :thumbsup2

Love all the stuff posted so far .. i had another dentist appointment on Fri (One of the many Ones ) so i have been sleeping mostly and slightly taking advantage of some much needed me time  but yesterday i needed no pain assistance:thumbsup2 so i sewed My Camden ;) a button up shirt and a pair of shorts:rolleyes1 he was so excited:banana:   That i finally got them finished (he picked the fabric out in March)
So here it is
th_DSCF1625_edited-1-1.jpg

I also found this pattern a Gazillion times easier and everything matched up perfectly ... Easy McCalls #3193:goodvibes
I'll have to try that pattern! I love it! Camden looks so cool! I hope your teeth start feeling better soon!!!

These are great! I especially like the dress!

Just an update on the diet thing...I started on April 3, and so far have lost 5 pounds..let's hear it..:cheer2: Yea Me!:cheer2:
LOL..
YAY!! Five pounds is fantastic!!! I'm personally stuck at 12 pounds and have been for about a month.

Look at that super-cool girl! I love that she had to pull one strand of hair out, just to further cool-ify herself!

SNOW?! UGH!!!!

I was almost going to call Tessa over to see "her boy", when I realized it was Lily! She sure makes a handsome little fella! :rotfl:

umm what does the wizard guy mean ??? I thought it meant ebay but when I type that it comes up fine. LOL
can someone clue me in ?
Most of our "code words" are explained in the very first post in this thread.

HI. BIG QUESTION: where do y'all get the pictures for the appliques?
I bought a couple of coloring books today and was wondering if those pics would be about the right size?
Also wondering if you can get clip art from the computer and resize it with photo editing. If you do this, what is the proper size?
Sorry for all of the questions, I figured this is the home of the experts and you would know the answers. Thank-you!
I hear there's a really great applique tutorial that shows you how you can use any picture for applique. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Wow! You made some great stuff! I really love those pjs and the flannel the kids picked out! Your earth day shirt is really cool looking!

For those of you that said a prayer for my FIL, thank you! He came through surgery ok, and now in ICU. Hopefully he will be well enough to go into his own room tomorrow. I'm so glad he made it through okay. I'll keep praying for him!

1) When in January 2006 were you there?? We were there from January 31-February 5, 2006.

2)When I read that you put hot glue on the clip, I instantly got a mental image of you gluing the clip to your DD's head. :lmao: I imagine that would keep it in!

3)Top FIVE!! :woohoo:

Are you kidding? These are wonderful!! I am really loving that Ariel dress. Sometimes simple is best when you have a busy fabric like that. The halter top is adorable and that pirate outfit is fantastic! These ARE truly boutique items!!

Hello...I just spent the last hour getting my fabric listed on :wizard:
Now I can't imagine that any of you would go running to see it :rolleyes1
I think it's like 24 things in total..It took forever for my pictures to load. Well now I'm off to do some homework. I have a paper due tonight for class.
And I may hit up Walmart later to check out their new Dots stuff...
Heck, a girl needs to replenish her sewing cabinet :confused3

Ok, so a few people have asked where the pirate fabric is from. The skull fabric and the black and lime dots on white background are both from Hancock. The other two are from Hobby Lobby. I bought it all several months ago, so I'm not sure if it's still around or not. I'm pretty sure I saw the Hobby Lobby fabric still there a few weeks ago, but I haven't been to Hancock in a while. Hope that helps!

Worked last night, so I'm goin' to bed! It's all cloudy and rainy here today - perfect sleeping weather!! Night!

Like I need more fabric, but Ill check your listings out ;) hehehe
Fabric for disney is a okay expense right ? :lmao:

I love everything Lori! I have been loving that Tink fabric since mycutekids made an outfit with it. I need to just buy it already. And your patchwork skirt is to die for: I like that it is not the traditional colors. I have yet to try tie-dye shirts: were they hard? They sure came out cute!

I hear there's a really great applique tutorial that shows you how you can use any picture for applique. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Hey, I read it last night, and it is really great! You did a wonderful job explaining and the pictures are very helpful too, I'm sure. I even learned something new: thanks! :thumbsup2

Hmm, off to :wizard:

Just look at my 10 year old daughters cool hair today! *ahem* :rotfl: ;) :rolleyes1 she loves it. But she had to pull a piece down over her forehead :confused3

My dd is sitting here with me and saw the picture of your dd, and said.."Ohh..I want my hair like that!".

My oldest DD loves doing her hair like that LOL she has long red hair and loves the twirly braided buns :)

That is the CUTEST hairstyle! Only the coolest girls wear it in a double bun!

Thank you EVERYONE for recognizing how COOL this hairstyle truly is! I will be showing an ALBUM of these pictures to her today when she gets home! Y'all are too sweet! Jham your DD is BEAUTIFUL! And everyone looks that much cooler with a strand of hair over her forehead...it's very REBEL chic!

sorry, someone just snatched it!!!!
hey did you ever see the HSM skirt I did for our trip in december!
It was Way adorable at the HSM Parade!

DARLING outfits! I am DETERMINED to have a cheer outfit made for Sally before our trip in August. She is OBSESSED with HSM!!!

good luck on your test! Hey here's a pop quiz for you...I've been exposed to Measles...but I was vaccinated as a child...do I need another dose? I'm so annoyed. I have a rash, but the doctor can't "be sure" if it's measles...and I feel okay...but he didn't want me to come to the office. I am banned...forbidden...GERMY! My degree in social work tells me I am allergic to the new detergent my husband bought.

any thoughts?:lmao:

Where on EARTH do people in Northern New Jersey get good fabric? We don't have Hobby Lobby or Hancock...there is a JoAnn in Nyack NEW YORK...which is a hike. All the fabric stores in my area closed and Wal-mart's selection is SAD!

Is it putting the cart before the horse being upset about being fabric-less when I have yet to actually sew anything?:rotfl2:

My try at the woven headband and princess clippies.
IMG_1834.jpg

IMG_1835.jpg

I was supposed to use light blue for the little side loops on cinderella but I didnt have any so I went w/ more blue since its what I had on hand.
Took me a bit but I like how they came out :)Especially since its my first try for any of these items lOL.I was so nervous about the woven headband but I see many more of those being made esp since my DD is a headband lover.
LMK what you think!

Those are all so cute. I purchased the ebook to make the woven headbands but i can't find the blank headbands around here. I haven't tried the clippies because I keep forgetting about them. I need to get my self in gear.

My official diagnosis is...if you are feeling okay, I would just manage the symptoms until they subside. If you are itchy, use medicated itch cream, and I would change detergents, just to see if you're husbands trying to kill you..
You can have a titre/ titer( spelling ?)drawn to see if you're still immune.
If not, go get your MMR. I had to have one recently, and they aren't cheap.
I hope you are feeling better soon!
Now that will be $100 please..

Hello, all! I've been tending to a sick baby for about a week, and now guess what?.... I'M home sick today! Sore throat, snotty nose, blech!

Anyway, I finally finished the "Lucky" outfit. Here are pictures of the front and back. Hopefully Kimberly will post pics of the outfit on her daughter after she receives it this week....

Thank you nurse Castle! I feel okay-ish...head-ache-y and whiny mostly! :lmao: I've had a sore throat for a few days and thought it was Scarlet Fever again, but I don't think I have strep.

I DID give my husband an accusing glare last night b/c he DARED to change detergents without getting my notarized written consent for said change. :snooty:

it's not even that I'm all that sensitive to dyes or scents...it's BRANDS. Certain brands I just can't tolerate. Not sure why.

and since I was exposed to wretched measles there aren't any doctor's offices that want me anywhere near them. Which I understand. But I really don't think it's measles and I can't go back to work without a doctor's note.

grrrr.

I'm working from home anyhow. I can do parent conferences over the phone SO THERE!

did you want that $100 in by way of Pixie Dust or buried Treasure? I'm going treasure chest hunting next week! pirate:
