I know some of you have done the frayed appliques. How do you stitch around the edges? Is it with a straight or zig zag stitch? I want to do one, but I don't want it to fall apart in the wash! Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

I made a guitar shirt like that.

I made the fusible web just smaller than the pieces so that the edges would fray. I just stitched about 1/4 inch in from the edge. The ruffle on the skirt also has a raw edge. I think you can just pretty much leave it raw. Over time it will fray and kind of "tangle" up with itself so it stops fraying.

I've done both and seen both done :rotfl: I say it just depends on the look you want!

Oh sure, now the big closeup of the original guitar shirt! :rotfl: For some reason I could not find the photos in photobucket when I tried to CAB that the other day. Yours looks much better. I thought it was you who made that!

It's funny you say that! Drew saw yours and said "somebody else made a guitar shirt, only her lucky girl gets Hannah Montana." So.... you kind of outdid me in my kids eyes.

Very cute! And that is my favorite Merry-Go-Round in the WORLD!

I am sitting anxiously at my computer. Mylie Cyrus (not Hannah Montana?) is playing in a town near me on the 4th of July and tickets go on sale on-line in 30 mins. The cheap seats start at only $35 and it includes a great fireworks show! So I'm sure the website will crash and I will totally not get tix :sad2: but hey, I have to try right? I just really need a Diet Pepsi right now and I'm all out  and I don't even dare leave my computer to go to the store (but even if I did dare, I couldn't, Lily is sleeping). Wish me luck! I REALLY need it!
