at least there is nothing in his nose :lmao:

Aww what a handsome little fella!!!

Not the greatest pic, but the only Peter Pan I have in photobucket:
DSC03006.jpg

I have a couple more, just need to find them :) Thanks for looking!

I am so looking forward to the customs we find for Sept!

Aww I love all your customs!!! They look awesome. Do you have any more pictures of the Peter Pan one you could add to Photobucket??? My DD loves Peter Pan and I would love to see more of the one you have.

Here's what I've been doing lately- not exactly dis-boutique, but done buy a dis-boutique doll! Sorry- it's all I have to contribute!

I still need to put eyes on the bunnies and sew buttons under their ties. I'll finish that up on the plane tomorrow and then I'll leave it in Utah with DD so she can get it quilted for me. When that's done, I'll sew the binding on, and it'll be finished. I'll post pics of it again when it's all finished if you'd like.

Do you think the way I arranged the squares is ok?? It's so hard to tell sometimes.

IMG_5396.jpg

JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How long does something like that take???? I wish I could make a quilt.

wow...new thread already!!

hope Elisa doesn't get lost!!!

I'm sure she's lurking though!!:wave2:

wish I had something to sew...so I could post a picture...but then I would be embarrassed...b/c I can't sew...and then everyone would point and laugh...

I DID take Sally to look for a cute outfit for her birthday party...and the thing I've been worrying about has happened...she had a TOTALLY different vision for herself than I had.:scared1:

I could have just gotten an outfit that I liked, handed it over and said "here's your birthday outfit..." she'd have worn it. But oh NO...I took her with me to the store.

She picked out something I never would have...

And since I'm very bossy and controlling about these things I'm just torn over what to do!!!

I could tell her that the outfit she picked out is too summery and not warm enough for April.

Which is true.

It IS! It's still cold here...much too cold for sleeveless chiffon ruffles...yikes.

yep. that's what i'm gonna do. It wouldn't be responsible of me otherwise...

brrrrr...NJ is COLD!

*ahem*

:flower3:

love y'all!!!:goodvibes

:rotfl2: Way too funny!!!!

Now, this is what I made tonight. It was my reward for getting my house clean (inlaws are coming tomorrow) I can't wait for dd2 to try it on!!! I'll take more pics of her wearing it on Sunday. I plan for her to wear it to Church, but tomorrow I have to make bows and jewelry

Marieoutfit.jpg

That is just darling!!! Very cute!!!

Since I lost my big quote on the old thread and didn't post there I have to say ... HEATHER....I LOVED YOUR PETER PAN OUTFIT TOO!!! THAT WAS AWESOME AND SO UNIQUE!!! :dance3:

Yay! This is fun!
This one kills two birds with one stone! My very favorite custom ever- Mary Poppins! My younger dd is wearing an appliqued Ariel shirt with matching twirl skirt:

I have a couple more, just need to find them :) Thanks for looking!

I am so looking forward to the customs we find for Sept!
Love this Mary Poppins! Super fabulous!
Glad you are here, looks like you love customs!!

Ok I am way past my bedtime reading CampbelScot's trip report (I had no idea she is so funny), but I wanted to wander over here and say the bunny quilt is the cutest quilt I have ever seen, the HSM outfits look great on, the Enchanted dress is beautiful especially with that butterfly and we are leaving for Disney Sunday! I decided today to make Epcot outfits! I will probably decide tomorrow that Megan needs something else too: I feel so panicked that I don't have enough new outfits. And it's past my bedtime so that's probably not helping. Good night friends!
That sneaky Miss Cammie has kept me up past 1:30am reading her wonderfully funny and entertaining TR!!

How excited that you're leaving on Sunday! As everyone else said, Megan will look cute in anything!!

Everything else is super cute, too (I haven't figured out how to quote and all that yet)
There's directions in the very first post in this thread if you want to learn how to multi-quote.

Hey Teresa, could you put the headings (such as "multi-quote tutorial") in bold so people can find them easier?

oh yeah, well I took 7 years of french from Jr. High through college, so I thought I'd come up with some clever response in french and here I sit drawing a complete blank----:confused3 uh, je m'apelle Jeanne...probably can't even spell in french anymore either. I remember I used to read books in french and write reports in french :sad2: but you know what, I was also thin back then and went out with friends and slept in on weekends....:rotfl:

That song has been stuck in my head since I saw the movie in the theater. I often break out in (loud) song singing that one and it drives my kids crazy.
I'm laughing at the French thing because I was doing the same thing. I was trying so hard to think of a clever French retort that it made my brain quiver. :rotfl:

Yes, but do you also grab your children and make them dance around with you while you sing it? ;) I personally don't know of ANYONE who would do that. :rolleyes1

Can I just say, I love all of the people on this thread? You are so very supportive and positive. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flower3: :grouphug: :cloud9:
I second that comment, even if Miss snooty pants Stephres :snooty: doesn't like mushy. We love you too!:grouphug:

:confused3 I am making a tulle tutu for a six year old anyone have a suggestion on long it should be. She wears a six 6-7 she is tall and skinny. I was thinking about having it like 20 inches (which means I would cut them 40 inches) Not sure any suggestions??
I think that sounds about right, especially with a few extra inches for the knot, like Teresa said. for feeling guilty about leaving the kiddos. Just remember that what you do is important and you're a wonderful mom!

Ok, whatever we are talking about on this page is much nicer, since the little Google add at the bottom of the page is now for Ebay boutique clothes. Which, I find totally hilarious since WE can't post links to Ebay auctions, BUT there they are at the bottom of the page! (I am amused rather easily!)

Stephanie, have a great time!!! Remember, as long as you aren't taking Megan to the parks naked, you are good! She will look cute even if she doesn't have a custom for every day! (and I tell you this in hopes of convincing myself of that for my own girls as well!)

I personally have never seen this Maxim ad you people speak of. Perhaps it's computer-specific and you people are looking at some other kind of sites. :rotfl: Kidding! I just never scroll down that far.

BTW, I just wanted to say that the minnie dot dress, along with the ice cream outfits you're making, will put Tessa up to a total of 10 customs for Disney!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!I am particularly fond of Marie. I loved the Aristocats when I was a kid. I listened to the record over and over again. This is just darling!!!

Well, I am very hesitantly jumping in here.
I've been lurking around for most of the last thread and am so in awe of all the beautiful things you are all making. You have inspired me to try my hand at it.
I have the Disney Brother sewing machine and so I embellished a couple of pairs of jeans for my children the other day and I'm quite surprised and happy with how they turned out. I'll try to get the kids to pose for a photo.
I have two children with a third on the way and due in June. My hubby and I live in Vancouver, BC and we are Disney fanatics. I'm really hoping to be able to make some fun customs for our kids for our next trip to Disneyland in December.
My sewing experience up until now is limited to quilting but I'm hopeful that if I choose some simple things, that I can create some fun stuff. I have a fair bit of experience with applique, it's the sewing part that's scary!
Jeanne was asking about whether it's worth cross-border shopping for fabric and I think the answer is definitely yes if you can run down in a single day. I'm not sure that if I had to do an overnight trip that it would be worth it. I was just down in Bellingham Wa today at JoAnn's and I buy most of my fabric there. Be sure to sign up for their coupons Jeanne, they do ship them to
Canada. I think you can even get them online.
Thank you so much for the great bookmarks Teresa! They are amazing. What a great resource!

Forgive my ignorance, but can you pick up the coupons at Joann's or are they only mailed out? You can tell I am a newbie at the sewing, huh? Anyways, we are headed there this morning and I am praying they have a decent selection of Disney Fabric. If not, we'll head over to Hobby Lobby to see what they have. I am wanting the light blue Kids fabric for Epcot!

Just wanted to jump in and say "Hi" to everyone on the new thread. We leave Tuesday, so I want to make sure I know where we are when I come back. I'll never be able to catch up after a week :)

You guys posted some great stuff yesterday. Just to name a few; the Mary Poppins, Hannah Montana, Giselle, Marie outfits and the quilt.

That has got me cracking up Jeanne!!!!

Je m'appelle Teresa. I use to write French papers and read French books too (although VERY small ones!) We read a book called "Les Jeux Sont Fait" which, I actually liked, and a little book called "En Vacnces". i

Yeah, totally off topic, and nope, not apologizging for it!

My favourite book in French was from grade four maybe, it was "Le Monstre de Lac Champlain". It was about a Loch Ness type Monster in Lake Champlain (it's between NY state and Vermont. Really dorky byt cute, and my family always camped on Lake Champlain, so I would swim around looking for the HUGE monster.

Heather allready answered you, I'll just say, I agree with her prices!

And, I am always saying "C'est moi!" to Lydia, so she says, "Moi!" And, she always looks a little confused!

My kids know I mean business if I speak to them in French and yell. Like "Qu'est que j'ai dit?????" = What did I say??? When they've done something I've already told them not to. Or, on Friday when I had to clean SNOW off the car and I said merde in front of my kids. Ooops! But come on, it's the end of March - is more snow really necessary?

oh yeah, well I took 7 years of french from Jr.

Don't feel bad, I can't write in French anymore, I can ramble on for hours, but just signing my Goddaughter's birthday card requires a Becherelle (verb book) and a dictionary!

I took 1 year of French in high school, so I can read the last line!! :woohoo: I also have a dog named Pierre, so we are very French around here. :rotfl:

Most of the Disney fabric at WalMart is $4/yard or so. If you go to JoAnn, it's generally about $7/yard, but they almost always have a 40% off coupon and it goes on sale for 30%-40% off a lot. I don't have a Hancocks in my area, so I can't help you out there.

That's funny! Why Pierre for your dog?

Jeanne was asking about whether it's worth cross-border shopping for fabric and I think the answer is definitely yes if you can run down in a single day. I'm not sure that if I had to do an overnight trip that it would be worth it. I was just down in Bellingham Wa today at JoAnn's and I buy most of my fabric there. Thanks! I didn't know about the coupons! I've been to Bellingham and the outlet mall there is great! I live in the GTA so I go to Niagara Falls, NY, and it's no where near a good as WA.

Thank you all for your help!

Is there every Christmas Disney fabric? We're going again this December, would be nice if there was . . .

For some reason I had no 'multi-quote' buttons so I hope I remember this...

Heather, I love the Minnie dot dress - :worship: :worship: Giselle's dress (must be nice to have a Giselle dress :rolleyes1 ) - Cute HSM outfits, quilt and Mary Poppins!!

That is so cute. I love polka dots right now. I saw a little girl up at work last night who had on the prettiest polka dot dress. I wanted to ask so bad where the fabric came from. :lmao: I keep forgetting that not everyone sews and that dress was probably store bought.

Cute, I love it! I think it's so neat that I pulled the yellow and blue out of it and you pulled the green and pink and they look like totally different outfits with the same Marie fabric. That is so cool. I love the little appliqué on the leg too. Great job! :thumbsup2

Shhh...I'm hiding....remember...:ssst:

Shhhh, hi! ;)

That sneaky Miss Cammie has kept me up past 1:30am reading her wonderfully funny and entertaining TR!!

How excited that you're leaving on Sunday! As everyone else said, Megan will look cute in anything!!

I second that comment, even if Miss snooty pants Stephres :snooty: doesn't like mushy. We love you too!:grouphug:

I LOVE IT!!!!!!I am particularly fond of Marie. I loved the Aristocats when I was a kid. I listened to the record over and over again. This is just darling!!!

1) I could not stop reading it. I am only half-way through and I must finish it before we leave!

2) The kids are very excited. Even Jacob asked if I would make him an Epcot shirt. I copied Elisa and made a ball with mickey ears on it. I made a matching skirt for Megan, which was a disaster. He wouldn't let me make him shorts to match. Anyway, I am trying to decide if I can squeeze out a big faced Belle jumper like Tom made or if I should start packing. This morning we are taking the dog to the vet/kennel and getting out nails done: have to look pretty for Disney. Megan says she's going to ask for little mickey heads (usually they paint little flowers on her nails). Wow, rambling again, sorry!

3) I don't know if it is the fact that my sinuses are killing me and I am not sleeping, but I have been very weepy lately, you'll be happy to know. Jacob wrote a story for school about how his mom was the best ever (who, me?) and I was all teary.

4) I had that record too! I used to take my stuffed animals and act out the movie with my sister.

I get a flier in our Sunday paper that has a coupon in it. I also signed up for the mailing list and get a flier mailed to me with a coupon (kind of sporadically, I am not sure how often). I did have to sign up twice for the mailing list, they are a little slow. Maybe look at the website and see if you can sign up there.

Is there every Christmas Disney fabric? We're going again this December, would be nice if there was . . .

I have some Disney Halloween fabric, and I remember some blue Disney fabric that was winter-themed that someone had. I think they bring out the Christmas stuff as soon as 4th of July is over so check then.

We're off to WDW on Monday! :cool1: :cool1:  I'd made some new outfits and after seeing the fasntastic Peter Pan shadows top I decided I was going to make one of my own.

Got into the disaster of a quilt room, pulled out a piece of blue fabric and realized that if I did that I was going to have to make a skirt, too, and wasn't up for starting that at 9:30 on a Thursday night.

So I pulled a pink fabric out of the piles, pulled two more until I found one that I had 1/2 yard instead of 15 inches, and 'whipped up' the top to go with an existing skirt. The ruffle on the top doesn't match the ruffle on the skirt, but the fabric is in the skirt, so it's all good. I didn't put any stabilizer behind the applique because the top's already lined. If I just keep the fabric taut I don't generally get puckering. 2 1/4 hours from walking in the room to putting it on the floor for DD to find in the morning. Thank you steam-a-seam2 and ruffling foot! :worship:

Top's a bit wrinkly - when it was worn yesterday Aurora ended up with strawberries  on her face and it needed emergency washing last night.

pinktwirlauroratop.jpg

We all know that Cinderella's on the back of this pillowcase, right? So after 2 weeks of trying, I finally got a reservation at 1900 Park Faire for dinner next week. I could've made Cinderella...but had chosen Aurora because she's Kaitlyn's favorite...and now I feel like I have to make a Cinderella outfit. Which I don't have a skirt for, either. So now I think I have 48 hours to (1) make a Cindy top, (2) CASE the Peter Pan top, (3) make a blue skirt that works with both, (4) clean house (we've got company coming for 4 days the day after we come home, (5) pack for three, (6) laundry. (This is me going crazy: :scared: :scared: )

For some reason I had no 'multi-quote' buttons so I hope I remember this...

what pattern is this? I LOVE it! I have not seen that fabric before- except on here. So cute!

Did you make this!!??? If so, you did a FABULOUS job!!!!! I seriously don't know if you bought it or if you made it. Either way, it's gorgeous!

That "Happy little working song" has been going through my head all day. Thanks for re-inforcing it! :rotfl:

Oh I definitely made this! I used Simplicity pattern 4764 - kind of. I used the bodice from this pattern and then just made a straight skirt with some changes. The accessories were mostly hand sewn after breaking my needle with DD8's Belle dress. This actually wasn't that bad.

This is to go along with the Belle dress I made for DD8.

IMG_0269.jpg

Now I'm working on an Ariel dress for DD8's BF which is going to be pink with silver accents. Then I have to make a Cinderella dress for another little girl who's going with us also.

These are all for the PPP we're surprising the girls with on April 23rd.

Last night I brought the dress to dance to show the other mom's and one mom mad eme feel badly about how much I had spent on the fabrics. That I should have bought one from the Disney store to save myself the time. Hey we always bought from the Disney store and those dresses are nice, but I wanted something special. Funny this is the same mom who has her DD1's hairbows custom made to match all of her clothes at $10 a whack. The Ariel dress is for a girl who's mom can't find a dress in her size because she's a larger girl. The Cinderella dress is for a girl who's mom hopefully will be going and is dying of cancer, how special will this be for her! I'm just happy to surprise the girls with a custom dress that was made special for them. How great are they going to feel to know that they have a dress like no one elses. The princesses are going to say something special to them and how great that is going to make them feel. We are going to pick up a stroller at the PPP so we can put the dresses in there when the girls are on rides so don't think they'll be in them all night - I know better then that.

I'm sorry to rant about it, but she just really made me mad last night! I know here everyone is so suportive. My DH and I believe that every little girl is a princess and at Disney that's the place they get to show their true colors!

great color combinations on the marie outfit. Can't wait to see it modeled.

I feel so guilty that I haven't made anything for my 4 dd's. My dd has had some bad - I guess you could say side effects of her meds and we have been so busy with appointments and trying to take care of her. My sister took her last night for a break, but then my other dd had a friend stay the night. Loose one, gain one!

Then my in laws (both) are in the hospital. My DH cleaned marker off one of my twins with mr clean magic eraser and she got a bad chemical burn. We just got done passing the flu around for 4 days.

Story of my life. Who said stay at home moms stay at home eating bon bons all day watching the stories on tv.

:welcome:!!! We love us some newbies around here! I can't wait to see pictures of the embellished jeans you made! If you need any help sewing something, just ask! Since you can do applique, you're well on your way to making some fabulous outfits!!

Forgive my ignorance, but can you pick up the coupons at Joann's or are they only mailed out? You can tell I am a newbie at the sewing, huh? My JoAnn sometimes has a stack of ads with the coupons in it when you walk in the door. But, I wouldn't count on it. The coupons are on the back page of the ad It's almost always 40% off any non-sale item (and all the items are generally on sale for 30% off -GRRR). But, the best way to make sure you get the coupons is to sign up to get their sale flyer in the mail.

That's funny! Why Pierre for your dog?
We got him a few months ago. He's 7 years old and came with the name, so we didn't want to change it! We think it's such a funny name for a dog.

I'm so proud of you for finding your inner sappiness!! You should get sinus problems more often (KIDDING! I don't want you to be sick. ).

I also had the Fox and the Hound record. I can still quote it pretty much word for word "We'll always be friends forever, won't we? Yeah, forever."

We're off to WDW on Monday! :cool1: :cool1:  I'd made some new outfits and after seeing the fasntastic Peter Pan shadows top I decided I was going to make one of my own.

I would be so flattered if you CASED my Peter Pan outfit! As far as I know, I've never been CASED!
I love the Aurora top and skirt. Adorable!! I also love how you color-coordinated the face blob to match the outfit. :thumbsup2

Oh I definitely made this! I used Simplicity pattern 4764 - kind of. I used the bodice from this pattern and then just made a straight skirt with some changes. The accessories were mostly hand sewn after breaking my needle with DD8's Belle dress. This actually wasn't that bad.

Really, it's absolutely gorgeous!!! I can't wait to see the pink Ariel dress!!!!

OK= we'll have a sleep over! What are you gonna bring and...

Who else wants to come????

Well, Im a good cook and I used to be a Friday's bartender, usually useful skills and I promise I won't bring my 3 1/2 year old. I'll make a pitcher of foofoo drinks, bring some yummy munchies, and I'll pray for quiet. :lmao:

I have to go and catch up now, I went to sleep and everyone started talking, that'll teach me about getting sleep now won't it!

Actually, I told Lydia that when we are walking down Main Street (which makes me almost cry just THINKING about walking down Main Street!) She has to sing "Walking Right Down the Middle of Main St. USA" while doing the Giselle "How Does She Know" dance! I know, a little complicated for a 5 year old, but we have been working on the coreography! :rotfl2:

I'm not sure that if I had to do an overnight trip that it would be worth it. I was just down in Bellingham Wa today at JoAnn's and I buy most of my fabric there. Be sure to sign up for their coupons Jeanne, they do ship them to
Canada. I think you can even get them online.
Thank you so much for the great bookmarks Teresa! They are amazing. What a great resource!

:welcome: !!!

.

I try to keep up with the latests JoAnn's coupons in the bookmarks. I can usually find a current 40% off one that you can print.

OOH, have fun!!! Maybe you will see Steph!
Is there every Christmas Disney fabric? We're going again this December, would be nice if there was . . .
Sounds like an interesting book!

And, yes there is Christmas Disney fabric.

Jacob wrote a story for school about how his mom was the best ever (who, me?) and I was all teary.

.
1.)I had the same problem! I HAD to finish it! Then, I was really sad when I was at the end!
3.)Aww, Stephanie, how sweet!

My BIL has horrible sinus problems, I feel for you. His face swells up and turns all red. He has been hospitalized for it several times.

That is so pretty!! So many going to Disney this next week! You guys have fun!

My DH and I believe that every little girl is a princess and at Disney that's the place they get to show their true colors!

You are so right!!! It sounds to me that someone was VERY jealous! Don't you let that lady bother you, she is obviously clueless!

great color combinations on the marie outfit.

Sounds like you are having a hard time right now! I hope things get better soon! :grouphug:
