All this talking of being there next week wants me to pack up now! I know I won't get to be there so you guys all have a great time. :thumbsup2 I'll be at the park with my DD6 tomorrow on a field trip (big park), so enjoy for all of us still sewing away and trying to get ready to pack at home!:goodvibes

The dresses posted are just dee-vine!!!!

Minnie meets Animal Kingdom- "oooooohhh"

Cinderella dresses "aaaaahhh"

T-beri- OUCH!!! Please just take care of you and dont worry about ANYTHING else!

HeatherSue AND TeresaJoy- I soo wish we were going when we could meet you! I just adore the 2 of you.

LovesDumbo- Go! Conquer! Bond!

Have headache, but I really enjoyed the stories tonight.
and the Trip Report from Jord

Oh, I ALMOST forgot- the beautiful, truly beautiful ruffles outfits with the roses fabric. I like both. I forget which gal posted the pic of the baby in the floral- what pattern is that?
As much as i love the ruffles one it A. looks too complicated for me and B. Looks like its for bigger girls.

Forgot to share with you on Monday...
DD at her 2yr appt measured 33"- yet at home it looks like 30-31--Im using a "fabric/clothing" measuring tape. Do you think if with sneakers she would be tall enough to make it past the height measurement to ride Goofy's Barnstomer?????
She weighs 23lbs now.
...my little peanut....
DH has a friend visiting for a few days and I took him to a Maritime Aquarium/museum not to far from our home, it was just a 1.5hr visit, but its so much fun to see her really responding to sea turtles, sharks, seals, etc.

I took my girls for their well child checkups yesterday. DD4 was 38" and 28lbs. Woo Hoo, 4 pounds every year. She's my string bean. Poor thing got 4 shots so she is ready for school, no more until she is 11. DD2 was 32 1/2" and 24lbs. She had gained 9lbs since her first bd. We discovered she was allergic to milk. Once we took her off all milk products she started gaining weight. She got her finger pricked and one shot.

DS is due in 3 weeks, the 19th. I'm ready!!

I just caught up from page 209!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of lovely outfits ladies!

The sewing talent on this thread is truly outstanding!!

HOW CUTE!!! I love how you incorporated all the fabrics into the ruffle! I also love how you did the sash with the 2 cheetah's facing each other. Plus, you gotta love the ruffle butt! :thumbsup2 She'll have to wear that on the day that Tessa wears her Lion King outfit!

I was thinking she could wear it then too. I'm glad you like the Cheetahs! I actually did that on purpose!

I know what you mean, it was cold here today too- the "high" was only 80. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
:snooty:

Put Jord back on the computer! She doesn't mock us! :snooty:

I could NOT believe how stinkin cold it was last night and this morning!!! TWENTY SEVEN degrees!! Our hose was FREEEEZING!!! I had to turn the heat on, I couldn't take it!

My little one just came in and saw this dress on the screen. She said that is sooo cute and big and cuddly! She is 4 1/2. She said it is so animal looking and dotty! I believe that is code for she loves it and wants one!

Awww, that is so sweet!!!!

.

HeatherSue and teresajoy, have fun on your trip. Please be sure to post pics when you get back.

Thanks!!! We are getting the photopass, for all 15 of us, so we will have tons of pictures!

Hey guys. Haven't checked in in a while. But I thought I'd put out a PSA

MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN UP ALL OF YOUR NEEDLES AND PINS...t.

Oh no T!!! That can't happen to you! Especially now!! I hope your surgery goes ok.

PLEASE beg B. to drive you and the kids over! QUELLE CATASTOPHE!!!! as Monsieur Garson would say! ;)

Well Heather and Teresa and family....tomorrow is May 1st! I remember your ticker saying 9 months or something...yeesh and now its only 1 day left. You see fuzzy Disney math says you dont count the current day or the day you leave so basically you have one day left. ARE YOU READY TO GO??

As I told Arminda tonight DON'T TELL ME THAT!!!!

Panic mode panic mode panic mode!!!!! :scared1:

I started packing though, and I made a list.

1.We'll be on the airplane while you are at the campfire! Have a great trip! You too Teresa! Can't wait for a zillion pictures and trip reports!

2.OUCH! My DH's son stepped on a pin when he was a kid and they had to take him to the ER too! I am so paranoid about the pins around here and I know I have been sloppy with them lately. They had to do surgery on him too.

3.ETA: Oops! I forgot to add that I just used a regular machine for the Mickey autograph. I don't have digitizing software for the computer so can't do it on my machine easily, although I can on the touch screen. Too bad I have no idea where I put the little stylus pen!!!! I tried this morning with an ink pen lid but it wasn't working out well. I decided I could do it quicker just with lots of patience and turns!

1.You have fun too!!!

2.You guys are making me very paranoid about pins!!

3.WOW! I'm impressed!!!

Minnie meets Animal Kingdom- "oooooohhh"HeatherSue AND TeresaJoy- I soo wish we were going when we could meet you! I just adore the 2 of you.

.

Thanks!!! We adore you too!

I guess I will have to sit here at my computer for the rest of my life :scared: The floor around me is a mindfield of pins and needles! Hope everything goes well with your foot T! Lily says hi to Lily!

That sounds like dancing news!!! :dance3:  :yay: :cool1: :woohoo:

It is! Thank you! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

What wonderful news!!!! I'm so happy to hear that!!

Don't feel bad about your first Napoleon Dynamite experience. The first time I watched it, I think I was sick. I was laying on the couch watching it and when it was over I said "What in the heck was that?" Then, I watched it again right away and I loved it the 2nd time!:rotfl2:

Thank you! Napoleon Dynamite was much funnier when I watched it with my sister, who giggled the whole time. I'm not sure which was better to watch, her or the movie. And I'm convinced your daughter is a genius as well.

I LOVE IT! I'ts absolutely wonderful.

I am so happy for you!!!!!!

Ok, I will believe you about Napoleon Dynamite. You quoted that line really nice.
thank you kindly! It's good that you believe me, because it allows me to refrain from saying I had to look it up to make sure I got the line right. :rolleyes1 it's been awhile.......

I love both outfits! the skirt and shirt are super cute (I love ladybugs!) and you did a great job with the applique! It really goes well with the fabric you made for the shorts (that was you, right?)

wow! this looks amazing! and the necklace makes her entire look so finished and grown up!

I finally finished Hannah's outfit. I am so happy it turned out!
th_HannahWhale008.jpg

this is fantastic! I love Hannah's facial expressions... so cute!

Nice work! :thumbsup2 I love it! I am no help on the type of shirt to do, but I can't wait to see it!

Tinalala - I lost your pics somehow, but the dresses look amazing and the girls all look so happy!

HeatherSue- The outfits are amazing! They are all so creative and I can't wait to see them in action... hinthintnudgenudge...don'twaittoolongtostartethetripreport...coughcough Excuse me, I must have something in my throat. *ahem*

I love everyone's outfits. I've been up trying to catch up, I think I've finally gotten it done, at least until tomorrow. :)

I've been in panic mode about Delaney's birthday party, I finally convinced my DH that having it somewhere other than our apartment was a good idea since I thought that having her birthday party the day before we leave for Disney was a good idea. :rotfl2: I have no idea what I was thinking. :scared1: Thankfully our local Chuck E. Cheese had space available and they will do all of the set up and clean up and even use the Little Einsteins stuff I got for the party. Now I just have to sew 12 goodie bags out of the LE fabric that I've got, I'm going to start on those tomorrow.

Cindee! I loved Jord's trip report. My DH was even laughing along with me. Delaney was looking and said that Jord would have fun with her CP baby, although I'm not sure ours has a name. I was also told that I need to make clothes for hers now.

Teresa and Heather, have a great time (just in case I don't get back online before you leave,) color me green with envy that you get to meet some of the other DisBoutique mamas!

I can barely keep my eyes open so I'm heading off for bed. Nighty night ladies and Tom.

This morning's accomplishment!

That is so cool!! Thanks for posting how you did it- You know we all wanted to know!

Take care of yourself!! Those all look great!!
Love the ruffle butt!! Well I love all of it really! Just think soon enough you'll be basking in the florida sunshine- It was warmer here today like mid 60's.
Hey guys. Haven't checked in in a while. But I thought I'd put out a PSA

MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN UP ALL OF YOUR NEEDLES AND PINS

I stepped on a sewing needle last night and about a half inch of it broke off in my foot. It is pushing against the bone in between the 3rd and 4th toes. B took me to the ER where they took some Xrays and said "yep there's a needle in your foot. You need to call someone else" The foot Dr. says it needs full blown surgery w/ IV sedation and all. Which he assures me I want.:scared1:

Not that that doesn't totally suck enough...I only have gained 26 hours of Paid Time Off at my new job and since yesterday I took off sick (prior to the accident-I have a terrible head cold) My PTO will be used for the rest of this pay period and then they can only secure my job through 5 days of unpaid leave. The Dr. promises I will not be back on my feet in a week so I am pretty much SCREWED.

I blame. You all:rotfl: If it weren't for all of the great stuff you guys make inspiring me to sew more this wouldn't have happened. I didn't even have so much as a needle and thread in my house before b/c when I wanted to make something I just went to my mom's or MIL's. But NO..I have to have all the cool sewing stuff at home so I can keep up w/ the disboutiquers

This so totally beats the laundry incident and the sciccor nightmare.

But I gotta run, the pain meds (I can't get into an OR until Fri) are kicking in.

...t.
Yeah I think you got me beat- although I can now predict the weather with my elbow :scared: You take care of yourself too!!

How exciting!! Are the girls getting excited too!! My dd is totally obsessed with babies right now- Everyone keeps saying oh I guess you'll have to have another one! Ah no I don't think so, at least not right now.
Isn't it crazy how fast they grow up!! And those last few weeks- ughh how long do those feel!!
OKay I finally finished one nemo outfit, 3 more to go! lol

Oh how cute is she!! I love them both!! Her embroidered jeans are awesome!!

I would love to see the pillowcase. Do you think it would match? I have plenty of the fabrics I used on the skirt left, but I jkust don't know what to do with them??:confused3
So here is the Kmart Tink pillowcase:

Sorry it's wrinkly- it's straight from the package. Oh and make sure you look at all the ones they have because some of the coloring is funky looking!

I finished Lydia's Kennedy Space Center outfit today. She picked out all the fabrics and the pattern. :)

th_62869857.jpg

I love it! Lydia did an excellent job picking out the fabric and it's (dare I say it.... ) out of this world! :rotfl: wah wah.... I'd promise I'd never make a terrible joke like that again, but I'd be lying...

I saw a similar top and winged it. This one was more of a trial and error thing. This is the third I have made and I am hooked. :lovestruc

You folks that wing it... you amaze me.

Love it! I'm even more impressed that you did the words w/ a regular machine. I think I need one for me...

Your daughter looks so cute! It's sounds like she got a lot of that special attention that makes one  Disney.

too funny! Hi Jord! Glad you had a good time.

Got up with fever(103.0), sore throat , body aches... is this a cold or a virus...

and 2 handbags ... only 21 more to go

Oh, I hope you feel better soon! Being sick stinks. and :scared1: on the bags! I hope you are enjoying making the purses... because that's sure a lot! Love the pj's too. :thumbsup2

I  how you did the bottom ruffle and the sash. It looks like the elephant is walking up it's mirror image (or something like that). cute cute cut!

MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN UP ALL OF YOUR NEEDLES AND PINS

yikes! My oldest brother stepped on a needle 30 years ago... and the broken part is still in his foot. :scared1: They said it would do more damage to get it than leave it, so it was left. good luck on the job... however you want it to turn out.

these are wonderful! I especially love the nemo outfit. I also forgot to say that I love the floral one you posted yesterday, I think. I just :lovestruc the outfits you make. They are all so adorable.

I've been in panic mode about Delaney's birthday party, I finally convinced my DH that having it somewhere other than our apartment was a good idea since I thought that having her birthday party the day before we leave for Disney was a good idea. :rotfl2: I have no idea what I was thinking. :scared1: Thankfully our local Chuck E. good luck on the party! got to love Chuck E. cheese, unless it's their food. which is terrible. yuck. :scared:

OMG. I hope everthing goes okay. Last night while trying to do a zigzag stich (I don't know why I was having such a hard time) I broke a needle and it went flying. I found two pieces, but I know the tip is still missing. I hope I can find it. Gotta get out a magnet bar and look.

Also, when I was a kid I had surgery for an enlarged lymph node, my room mate was there having surgery or a sewing needle that went into her foot. Seems to be a commom problem.

OKay I finally finished one nemo outfit, 3 more to go! lol

I love these. That nemo outfit is so bright and colorful. I really need to try an outfit with one of those big face bodices. I know I have a pillocase somewhere. I love all you outfits. You are so talented!

I love these, but the Nemo is my favorite. I have to make another pillowcase dress. I love how they look.

Width wise she is like a size 3 but needs a 7 for length! Makes this lots of fun. The bad thing was I cut out the fabric using the 7 pattern so mom is playing with the patterns to see if we can just take it in on the sides. 2 outfits are halter tops and 1 is a halter dress so I don't think a tie in the back will work for that.

I have the same problem - size 5 in width, size 8 in length.

What I've started doing is making a muslin. I don't cut the pattern, I copy it over onto tissue paper in a size 5. This keeps the pattern intact so I can see where the pattern thinks the waist and length should be for any size (and use it again later). Honestly, I just whack it together. No linings, no finishing, minimal or no elastic, no zippers, one sleeve. Then I know how many inches to the length and where. Then I make it out of the fabric I want!

I note on the pattern or the muslin how many inches I added where for what outfit - then if I come back to it later I know where to start from. Also put the pattern number/size on the muslin.

Just made a muslin halter top last night, as a matter of fact - and now I know to add only 1 inch to the bottom (usually it's 4!) and I'll probably be happier with shirring the back than a piece of elastic.

UGGHH!! After hours, (I started last night at 8) of working on the pp dress I finally figured out how to zig zag a hem. My machine was not being nice to me! I read the manual, tried on about 15 pieces of scrap. Finally, I said screw the manual, made up settings and got it right. Now I can finally connect the bodice pieces together! I need a serger!

I need a serger too. I think it will be a birthday present in June (I hope) I have been asked be several people tro do outfits for them, and I just hate to do something for someone else that I have zig zaged. Mabye I can find one on sale or used somewhere. I am looking at a singer 4 thread that is under $200 new.

Perhaps I should just go visit Mom...she has a nice serger!

For those who do the Carla C PP dress... do you use a serger or do you zigzag or do you do something else?

I finally got the bodice and sleeves sewn together, not I need to start elastic!

Well have been on a bit of a vacation from sewing since our trip, but I'm back. I finished the daisy sun-shirt for DD5 before we left
IMG_0602.jpg

and a princess sun-shirt for DD8 before we left
IMG_0605.jpg

and now I have to do the purple daisy sunshirt for DD8 and possibly finish their curtains.

So I've decided I'm going to leave Cracker Barrel and pursue a life of making children's clothing. Pretty much! Those princess dresses I made for our trip, I'm going to do made to order dresses for people. It will keep the Disney dream with me!

Just as a reminder here are the dresses that I made.
