You CASED my BRAIN!!!! I have both of those patterns sitting here waiting. I finally found the pink floral fabrics I wanted to use at the quilt shop and was just trying to justify spending that much on fabric to make this exact same outfit! I'm glad to see it turned out as cute as I imagined it! :rotfl2:

The fabrics in that outfit were from Joanns. They were Keepsake callico prints (I think) I got 1 1/2 yads of each fabric and spent around $7 total. I still have at least 1/2 yard of each fabric left! I'm thinking her dolls are needing some coordinating outfits.

you read my mind again :confused3 I was wondering how much yardage you used because the patterns seemed to call for too much. I have some of those florals from Joanns--not the exact but matching I think. Thanks Leslie!

Still sick and trying to keep up so I am just going to jump back in here:

th_IMG_1442-1.jpg
They are both super cute!! And those shorts are so in right now I have seen them EVERYWHERE!!! Didn't you make the "fabric" yourself. SO CUTE!!
She looks so beautiful!! Great Job!!
Here we are on the carosuel. They were so excited that they were going to the PPP, especially that they were going together. (Yes that is Belle on Cinderella's horse!)
http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh233/tmjl22/IMG_0505.jpg[/IMG
:yay: They all look so cute!! And it looks like they had a great time too!!

:lmao: I love her tink outfit!!
I love her whale outfit too!! I love seeing what everyone does with the same fabric. They are all so different and beautiful!!
th_DSC00438.jpg

I just need a top now. I am thinking of doing the simply sweet halter with the empir waist and adding an little skirt peice to the bottom and mabye a ruffle, and mabye a peasant blouse to go under it in case it is cool. I would do the halter in the purple and the peasant in the green. The other option woul be a pesant type blouse with and empire seam and an aline bottom attached from the purple with a green sash(like that great peter pan siloutte top that has been CASED).What do you guys think??
I love it!! I just bought a tink pillowcase to make a top for dd, would you want to do something with a big tink on it? They have different ones at walmart & kmart. I can post a picture of the one I just bought. They also have that fablique at joanns you could put on a top.

And Heather & Teresa- I love all of your customs too!! You guys are going to have such a great time. And I about died laughing at Henry & Corey :lmao: :rotfl2:

there is no keeping up with this thread. I have loved everything- love reading the updated trip reports (thanks for posting here, I always just click your siggy and read away) and loved all the new stuff.

I am almost done. I have the smocked jumper left and about 4 weeks to go. So what is a girl to do? Throw 3 more projects in there! I had this shirt made for a friend's daughter for her bug birthday party. So, I just had to make her a skirt too, right? PS- I know I am a mean mommy for making Coops try it on. I needed to figure out the sizing a bit. He is pretty small for his age, so I made it a bit big on him. The waist gapes a bit, but I figure that it will fit a "normal" sized child correctly.

th_IMG_1441.jpg

And I finally finished the monsters Inc outfits. I psyched myself up this past week. I re-read the youcanmakethis tutorial on applique and re-read, and re-re-read HeatherSue's tutorial (which is the best, btw) and finally gave it a try. I feel pretty good about how they came out. I wish that I could have found a shade deeper thread, but that was the best that I could do.
th_IMG_1442-1.jpg

The skirt is adorable!!! And, is that your first applique?? That is awesome!!!!

Thanks! It's good to be back! I have been ok, coping with DHs deployment and all. Busy, susy being a single parent. I haven't sewed in awhile so you ladies need to kick my butt into gear!!

Kick kick (couldn't find an appropriate smiley!)
And you didn't talk to Jord? I know how much you love Jord!
I inquired about Jord J-O-R-D He was on the bed. :)

I didn't want Cindee and Morgan to think I was TOO crazy! ;)
Ruffles, Ruffles, and More ruffles!!

This was made using the ruffled capris and ruffled halter from YCMT. DD wanted to wear it to ballet practice (they are in regular clothes and outside today). I wouldn't let her wear the capris. It's too cold here today - low 50's.

IMG_0694.jpg
.

LESLIE!!! Emily AND that outfit are STUNNING!!! I just love ruffles!!! That is gorgeous!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I have pictures to prove otherwise LOL

and ME a sweetheart? :rolleyes1

I will not believe such nonsense talk!!! Morgan said she was going to save her Chuck E Cheese tokens, because I told her my girls love Chuck E Cheese. When I told her to go ahead and use them for herself, she said, "I am just trying to be a good friend." Come on! How sweet is that!!! :lovestruc

YAY! Is she meeting us??? E-mail me!!
!
I knew there was something I forgot to do!!! Can't you read my mind???
So here's some pictures from Disney!

This is the girls at the hotel room - they have no idea where they are going.

It's a balmy 28 degrees her right now!! I am FREEEEZING!!!!
I finally finished Hannah's outfit. I am so happy it turned out!

th_HannahWhale008.jpg
Aimee that turned out wondefully!!! Hannah looks adorable!

Teresa has more outfits, but I wasn't sure what day her girls are wearing them. Maybe she'll do a photo montage for us.

That would require pre planning!!! I will try though!

I made an outfit with that same fabric:
zuma01.jpg

SOO pretty!!!

Does anyone know what's going on from the description? Is there anything I can do? help me please!
I was going to say it sounds like the timing is off, but I see several others beat me to it!

I would love to meet you guys but I don't think I'm up for the campfire. I'll be alone with DD(5) and was planning on hitting AK EMH that night-she really wants to try EE and I was thinking if that goes well earlier in the week we could try it out in the dark. I'll post my itinerary-maybe we could meet up elsewhere.
I hope we can meet up too! Let us know where you will be when. :thumbsup2
I just have to say:

HeatherSue and TeresaJoy, all y'all are AMAZING!!! Seriously...y'all have just planned yourselves SILLY for this trip.

I don't think anybody but Disers know how important this is...or how much more it adds to the trip!

I hope y'alls kids look back someday and really recognize how much they were loved and thought of by their mama's. I know they know how loved they are now! I'll bet they think EVERYBODY'S mommy's sew them 84,000 outfits for each moment of their trips to Disney!!

Good job ladies...:worship: :worship:

can't WAIT for the trip reports!!!!:cool1:

Aww, thank you!!! That is such a sweet thing to say!

I finally finished my scallloped skirt:

th_DSC00438.jpg

I love that!!! It turned out great!

Teresa and Heather! What a great job! Can't wait for a trip report! I'll be thinking of you all and have some ice cream for me!!
Corey and I are considering asking for extra whipped cream on our kitchen sink. :rotfl:

Thank you so much for the compliments on the Cinderella dress!!! I just wasn't sure about it so your praise has made me feel better!!!

I finished Lydia's Kennedy Space Center outfit today. She picked out all the fabrics and the pattern. :)

I would love to see the pillowcase. Do you think it would match? I have plenty of the fabrics I used on the skirt left, but I jkust don't know what to do with them??:confused3

Thanks!

I saw a similar top and winged it. This one was more of a trial and error thing. This is the third I have made and I am hooked. :lovestruc

I am new here. I have been looking at all the beautiful oufits and would like to try an applique. Do any of you have any suggestions for an applique that would be very easy for a beginner?

The applique tutorial near the beginnig of the thread is GREAT. This is how I learned and it is really super about spelling things out exactly for those of us who are real newbies!! I think Theresa wrote it??

I normally try and condense all of my comments to one response but there were so many cute pictures I knew I'd go over the amount allowed if I didn't stop now and comment!

The pants gave me a bit of trouble. I'm hoping it was user error and not the pattern.

Oh that is so cute! Now I just need to add that fabric to my stash and another pattern! Beautiful!
So here's some pictures from Disney!

This is the girls at the hotel room - they have no idea where they are going.

Here they are on the Monorail - still no clue.

Here's my DD5 dancing with Sebastian. She's the one in the white Giselle dress with the matching white bridal ears that she had to wear. "This is Giselle's wedding dress, Mom!"
th_IMG_0509.jpg

Here they are at the end of the night - yeah it's about 1am and we're being thrown out of the MK. You can see the castle in the background.
th_IMG_0535.jpg

This was them trying to be GLAMOUROUS!

Sorry about the back and forth.

Beautiful girls! Looks like they had a great time!

Here are some iron-ons I did for the whole family. I made 14 of them! Henry will just wear a plain blue shirt 'cuz he's a party pooper:

The back of mine and Teresa's:

This is an extra Tessa outfit:
th_7-2-07holdingflowers.jpg

Teresa has more outfits, but I wasn't sure what day her girls are wearing them. Maybe she'll do a photo montage for us.

You guys have been such busy little beavers! The outfits are all fantastic. Your nieces are going to love their outfits and how special they look in them. I especially like Henry and Corey's outfits!

Okay now Teresa, where is your photo montage? Curious minds need to see your creations!

Welcome!! I think the ruffled halter I posted would be adorable in the Minnie dot fabric! You could pair it with a pair of denim capris with a matching ruffle on the cuff. Ebay might be the easist place to find the Minnie dot. I don't think any stores are really carrying it now.

Here's another idea - It's a storybook skirt. It comes as a kit to make a soft/cloth book. It comes in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! You just cut it apart and sew it into a type of stripwork skirt. I did a Pooh Bear one.

th_IMG_3246.jpg

th_IMG_3223-1.jpg

Okay, I just saw those on Monday at Joann's and wondered what to do with them. I didn't really want to do a book with them but I love the idea of doing a skirt with it! That is fantastic! My two, turning three year old is going to have a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party so I guess I will have to make her a skirt with that. Fantastic job! Love the way you were so creative with those soft books!

I made an outfit with that same fabric:
th_zuma01.jpg

th_zuma49.jpg

My daughter wore it for Easter! lol, Just thought I would share since we used the SAME exact fabrics! lol

Beautiful outfit too! I love that fabric!

Okay, I just went to submit the response and of course I'm over on the number of pictures. So if I cut ones, I'm sorry!

Day 1, Magic Kingdom:
Tessa and Sawyer:
th_1-22-08sittingonbed.jpg

I love the Cinderella dress! DD just told me last night that she wants to wear the mice dress to 1900 park Fare for dinner. Did you use a pattern for it?
Thank you! I used the Simplicity Belle dress pattern for the bodice and then just kind of winged the bottom 1/2. I also put a zipper in, but the pattern called for velcro.

OMGOSH! I LOVE this dress! I so wanna make one! Do you have a picture of your daughter standing?
Thank you! Your wish is my command!
1-22-08front.jpg

I thought you and Teresa bought Minnie Dot fabric for matching shirts. Did that not work out? I was looking forward to seeing your "grown up" outfits.
I'm impressed that you remembered! I wimped out on making a shirt out of that fabric. It was sheer and I've never worked with sheer fabric before. I've also never made anything for myself. I wasn't sure what size pattern to use for my weird shape and I wasn't sure what kind of shirt to make. I'm full of excuses!!

Heather!!! Everything looks fantastic!! You did a wonderful job and should be super proud!!!!
Thank you, Aimee!

I just have to say:

HeatherSue and TeresaJoy, all y'all are AMAZING!!! Seriously...y'all have just planned yourselves SILLY for this trip.

Good job ladies...

can't WAIT for the trip reports!!!!
You've done made me cry!

I bought a little notepad the other day that I intend to jot things down on for our TR.

Heather ~ Gorgeous outfits! You guys will be the hit of WDW! I hope to see you there!!!!
I hope we see you, too!!

Must go to bed now. Everything is wonderful, as always and Heather that picture of Henry and Corey made me laugh so hard! Has Henry seen it?
I've no idea what you're talking about! :snooty: Henry was THRILLED with his Mickey coveralls! :rotfl2:

Oh, I had to share this story with you girls

back story- I got fabric and a pattern to make DH a shirt out of this Mickey/Goofy surfer fabric and showed it to him and said if theres enough left over I will make a little Aline matching top for DD- he was happy.

So then tonight.. I have parts of the PPDP cut out and was showing DH and he said "I thought you were making me a shirt?"
I had to explain, yes, I am indeed planning to sew a shirt for you- I just didnt say I was sewing it NEXT.
But now, since I showed him that patten I guess I HAVE to work in making a men's shirt at a minimum- but he wants DD to have the matching A-line too

I wish Henry wanted me to make something for him (besides the Mickey coveralls of course. ;) )! That is so sweet!

Still sick and trying to keep up so I am just going to jump back in here:

And Heather & Teresa- I love all of your customs too!! You guys are going to have such a great time. And I about died laughing at Henry & Corey
I hope you start feeling better soon!

Once again, I have no idea what you're laughing about. :snooty: (;) )

That is absolutely adorable!! It's SOO Lydia! I really love the fabrics she picked out! You did a wonderful job, once again!!

I am new here. I have been looking at all the beautiful oufits and would like to try an applique. Do any of you have any suggestions for an applique that would be very easy for a beginner?
:welcome:!!! I wrote an applique tutorial that you might want to check out:
http://disboutique.blogspot.com/2008/04/bestest-applique-tutorial.html
Hope this helps! I also suggest that you start on something square-shaped. Circles and curves are hard, IMO!

I finally finished my scallloped skirt:

I just need a top now. I am thinking of doing the simply sweet halter with the empir waist and adding an little skirt peice to the bottom and mabye a ruffle, and mabye a peasant blouse to go under it in case it is cool. I would do the halter in the purple and the peasant in the green. The other option woul be a pesant type blouse with and empire seam and an aline bottom attached from the purple with a green sash(like that great peter pan siloutte top that has been CASED).What do you guys think??

Cute skirt! Good luck with the top! I have no ideas of my own :rotfl: , I just copy other people's, sorry I can't be of more help!!

Yes, I'm sure I've run over pins, and I'm sure I've put too much fabric through it too. Doggone it! I'll load it up and take it in to a shop tomorrow. I don't know what I'll do - I was about half way through a customer order. I donated my back up machine last week. Good grief! It sounds like I'm in a pickle!

Uh oh, is it time for a new machine? I hate it when things like that happen! Maybe you can take it to a sewing center and they will be able to fix it quicker than you think. Maybe it's an easy little problem you're overlooking. I have no idea, but I am sending you positive thoughts! Good luck!

I finished Lydia's Kennedy Space Center outfit today. She picked out all the fabrics and the pattern. :)

th_62869857.jpg

Love the Space Outfit! If you wanted, you could change her into it so she can ride Space Mountain in it! Then it becomes a Disney outfit too!

Wow!! These are wonderful pictures. The girls all looked BEAUTIFUL!!! I bet they got lots of compliments! I can't believe they made it until 1am!

She is just the cutest little thing! Teresa said she sounded just like Tessa!

This is so cute! I love the whale fabric!

I would start with a Mickey head. It perfect because it's only one line that you have to do, and you can practice your curves.
