I just have to say:

HeatherSue and TeresaJoy, all y'all are AMAZING!!! Seriously...y'all have just planned yourselves SILLY for this trip.

I don't think anybody but Disers know how important this is...or how much more it adds to the trip!

I hope y'alls kids look back someday and really recognize how much they were loved and thought of by their mama's. I know they know how loved they are now! I'll bet they think EVERYBODY'S mommy's sew them 84,000 outfits for each moment of their trips to Disney!!

Good job ladies...:worship: :worship:

can't WAIT for the trip reports!!!!:cool1:

HELP!
I have a problem. I have the Brother Costco version of the i6000. Something is seriously wrong! It appears to be a problem with the area that the bobbin sits. It's not spinning, but it's kinda turning when I attempt to sew. The needle keeps hitting a part of the bobbin casing thing, and won't sew. Does anyone know what's going on from the description? Is there anything I can do? help me please!

That happened to me too. The top thread would just start looping over and over not catching the top thread right?

I think it was the motor at the top of the needle section, where the light is. I spent $70 trying to get it fixed. Chucked it and got the cheaper Brother.

This sums up Jenna. She thinks that because all of the ladies on this board sew for their children and I sew for her that all mothers must sew like this for their children. I have had to explain to her just how lucky she is.

I love that outfit too!! That fabric is just TDF!!

Did you try changing the needle? It sounds like it might be bent. I don't have that machine it's just a guess.

I just tried. It's not the needle.

The whole bobbin thing is turning around in the machine.

LOVE this too! What fabric is it? Where did you find it?

Did you check to see if your needle is inserted correctly and all the way?

Is anything caught in the bobbin case? Remove the bobbin and brush out the bobbin case.

Does your machine have the means to bypass the bobbin case tension? Does your machine have a separate bobbin case that fits into the machine or is it a drop-in bobbin? If it's separate, did you accidentally adjust the tension screw?

If it isn't an issue with the needle, it sounds as though something is affecting the bobbin tension.

I don't have a Brother machine, so I can't help with specifics. :(

Ruffles, Ruffles, and More ruffles!!

This was made using the ruffled capris and ruffled halter from YCMT. DD wanted to wear it to ballet practice (they are in regular clothes and outside today). I wouldn't let her wear the capris. It's too cold here today - low 50's.

The pants gave me a bit of trouble. I'm hoping it was user error and not the pattern.
LOVE, LOVE this!!!! I may have to try this pattern next!

I finally finished Hannah's outfit. I am so happy it turned out!

I love what you did with this fabric. too cute

OK newbie here! I don't really sew, but have a $500+ Pfaff machine my mom bought me when I got married that I have been using for the past 12 years to "repair" and I have made some simple valances. But I am sure I could get by with her help.

I have admired your work on various other threads and on e bay, but here's the deal: DD turns four in June and wants to have a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Party, so I would like to make her an outfit that she could then where on our October trip.

Need help, any suggestions for a "simple" pattern? I am thinking a two piece something or other, I love the cropped pants with the ruffles on the bottom, I actually really like the ruffled one at the top of this page or the previous page.

Also, where do you get the "Mickey/Minnie" red and white dot fabric? Is that available at JoAnns or is there some place special I would need to get that?

Thanks

I get minnie dots with the small dots (dime sized) at Joann, but the bigger dots are hard to find. I love the Carla C simply seewt dresses and tops pattern with the easy fit pants from YCMT. This is what I started sewing agian with after an almost ten year gap, and I got great results. The pattern has lots of different looks so you can get a lot of milage out of it

I finally finished my scallloped skirt:

I just need a top now. I am thinking of doing the simply sweet halter with the empir waist and adding an little skirt peice to the bottom and mabye a ruffle, and mabye a peasant blouse to go under it in case it is cool. I would do the halter in the purple and the peasant in the green. The other option woul be a pesant type blouse with and empire seam and an aline bottom attached from the purple with a green sash(like that great peter pan siloutte top that has been CASED).What do you guys think??

I love the Minnie exactly how it is!!!

WOW! That is beautiful!!!!:worship:

I would love to meet you guys but I don't think I'm up for the campfire. I'll be alone with DD(5) and was planning on hitting AK EMH that night-she really wants to try EE and I was thinking if that goes well earlier in the week we could try it out in the dark. I'll post my itinerary-maybe we could meet up elsewhere.

Love the lady bug skirt! Love the Mike outfits! Great job!!!

Beautiful!

Looks like you had a great time! Love the late night photos!

So cute!

Looks like you used bias binding. Love the look but I'm still afraid of it.;)

LOVE them!!!!!! Hope I get to see a few in real life!!!!

Beautiful!!!

Bias Tape is so much fun! :cutie:

The trick is to have the wider side under whatever you are sewing. That way you will not miss it. :)

You can find the minnie dot @ Hancock Fabrics, I was just there yesterday and it is in with the Red section of quilting fabrics I just happened to be looking through there and found it. I also did buy some minnie dot @ Joann over the weekend but the dots are rather big and I think the Hancock is a better match.

That is so pretty. I think that the purple peasant blouse with a green sash would be pretty.

I did check the needle. It appears that everything is ok with the needle. It definitely appears that it is something wrong with the bobbin casing. It looks like the bobbin casing isn't supposed to move, but for some reason, it is. It's turning around as the machine is trying to sew. I can't figure out why it's moving or how to keep it from moving.

You CASED my BRAIN!!!! I have both of those patterns sitting here waiting. I finally found the pink floral fabrics I wanted to use at the quilt shop and was just trying to justify spending that much on fabric to make this exact same outfit! I'm glad to see it turned out as cute as I imagined it! :rotfl2:

I have that machine and I can't remember the exact details, but mine had a problem with the bobbin case and the needle hitting it. The one lady at Joann's that actually seems to be like a seamstress overheard me telling Jen about it and said she thought my timing was off. :scared1: This is what happened to my old machine. I hadn't had it very long so I just took it back to Costco. They didn't have it in the store anymore so I had to order a new one online.

Must go to bed now. Everything is wonderful, as always and Heather that picture of Henry and Corey made me laugh so hard! Has Henry seen it? :lmao: I had 3 hours of sleep last night. We just got our stuff set up at the boutique  I forgot to take my camera so I'll have to get pictures tomorrow.

So much to comment on! I'll try to remember it all.

Teresa and Heather! What a great job! Can't wait for a trip report! I'll be thinking of you all and have some ice cream for me!

I love the scallopini tink skirt, looks tink-ish.

Aimee, H looks adorable in the whale outfit. I love what you did with the fabric.

Leslie, I hope you love the ruffle outfit! I think that is one of my favorites! Not sure making it would be though. Great pictures of Emily. I think you have a little model in the family.

I know there was more!

Oh, Mike and the patchwork shorts! Love them! They turned out really great!

And I know there was more still! Everything is so cute. This thread is the best!

Revob- did you by chance sew over a pin??? Or try to force too much bulk thru it?
I dont know if you can do it to a mechanical, but I KNOW you can throw the timing off on a computerized machine.

I suggest packing it up and bringing ot to Sears to have it serviced. OR look up Vacuum/Sewing Machine Repair shops in your yellow pages. You will probably lose it for a week...:(

Yes, I'm sure I've run over pins, and I'm sure I've put too much fabric through it too. Doggone it! I'll load it up and take it in to a shop tomorrow. I don't know what I'll do - I was about half way through a customer order. I donated my back up machine last week. Good grief! It sounds like I'm in a pickle!

Wow, lots of great stuff going on here! Teresa and Heather, you guys are going to be the talk of the parks with your stylin crew! LOL! I hope you have a wonderful time!

2cutekids, I love the outfit and your daughter is gorgeous!

Aimeeg, your whale outfit is so cute, I love the skirt!

princessmom, the tink skirt is too cute. I can't wait to see what you make for the top!

Oh, I had to share this story with you girls

back story- I got fabric and a pattern to make DH a shirt out of this Mickey/Goofy surfer fabric and showed it to him and said if theres enough left over I will make a little Aline matching top for DD- he was happy.

So then tonight.. I have parts of the PPDP cut out and was showing DH and he said "I thought you were making me a shirt?"
I had to explain, yes, I am indeed planning to sew a shirt for you- I just didnt say I was sewing it NEXT.
But now, since I showed him that patten I guess I HAVE to work in making a men's shirt at a minimum- but he wants DD to have the matching A-line too

Awwww!! That is the sweetest story.
