OMG SO cute!!!!! I want some for ME.;)

LovesDumbo- heres hoping Emma does not have Lymes OR chic pox!
Thanks!

That is just precious!! You did a great job on it! The shorts are really cute, too.
Thanks!

I was gonna order some for me! lol, But I think DH would not walk with me if i did so I have to stick to the kids! They are SUPOER cheap which is even better :

:rotfl2: I made matching shirts for our whole family. They're t-shirts with iron-ons that have our names surrounded by Disney characters (from the DISigner board). On my shirt and Teresa's shirt, I put a lime green Mickey head on the back that says "Do you Dis? disboards.com HeatherSue" (Teresa's says Teresajoy, obviously). Anyway, Henry told me that if I keep making this dorky stuff he won't be seen with me. :rotfl2:

I would SO wear those Mickey ears in my hair!! They're so cute!

I also intend to wear my Cinderella crown.

wanted to say hi! I was obsessive with this thread last year when we were planning our last trip. After Mark got home, he deployed and fell off teh earth basically until I recently got put on medication. I am looking to you all for some inspiration. We are planning a surprise trip for DD when Mark gets home. Now how am I supposed to make these beautiful creations and not try them on her? It is gonna kill me!

I love the mickey lollipop bows! I got 2 today, but different ones. I'll have to take a picture and post it. Laura does the best work!

Those crochet mickey ears are so cute!

I always thought Cinderella's dress was blue! Who knew!

I plan on making me some ears for myself and I have a crown to wear. DH will probably not want to be around me when we are there, but oh well It's my vacation too. :lmao:

Just tell her like I tell Jenna...They are for someone on ebay and the little girl is the same size as you. It works everytime. :lmao:

HeatherSue- Yes- thats the one.
SHe is really nice and I love that she can do customs, which is what I did the first time- I didnt buy those actual bows, I ordered mine in shades of red, yellow and blue with a bit of white-Ill post when I get them. I DID just win this pair- Belle....

They may be too big for her to wear 2, I dont know, will have to wait and see. If so perhaps i will save the other as a gift, or for her to wear as a pair when she is older. Funny I almost bought them 6 months ago, but couldnt rationalize since she didnt have enough hair for a pony or pig tail- just a little thing on the top of her head to hold her bangs back.

So many breath taking outfits!!! I suffer every time that I see those gorgeous outfits for the girls... the only thing that I can do for my boys are shorts and pants other than that, there is not a lot for boys:mad:

Tinka Bell: last year my shunt was over draining and I was also told to drink caffeinated beverages and a lot of water, but was given a special belt to wear around the waist area to slow down the fluids, it is similar to the maternity one that they give you in the hospital, it did help me with the headaches,

I am trying to do the futon covers for my furniture but I do not find the extra long zippers that I need to made them custom fit, any ideas on where to order them or what else can I do instead of zipper

As you can see right now I have them without the covers and I need to start working on that soon....Maybe I should just give up and spend the 400.00 / 500.00 on new ones...Ideas please???....

just wanted to reply quick
I own DVC too- Old Key West- DH and I bought in a couple years ago- and we bought resale. PM me with any questions you have. We love it and we love the flexibility it offers. In Oct we stayed for 10 days at OKW, now we are staying at BWV for 5 days- and I have also rented out points with good results (I rented to TGM people which worked out better than the DIS boards)
I recommend called DVC and getting their nice glossy THICK brochure, but then checking into a resale. We bought from the Timeshare Store- which was great because it was cheaper, and on your next trip swing by their office to say hi and you get a Huge free gift basket, filled with stuff from The Basin- massage bars, lotions, oils, sponges, all sorts of things to enjoy in those big jacuzzis the villas have. ;)

I just custom ordered from this Voldemort seller to match some of DDs outfits- and got this design in different colors- arent these just too cute!

Just out of curiousity, how many points did you guys buy? I have been thinking about this, too. I love it, and we go every year. I figured in the long run, it would be cheaper.

Buttons?? Sort of like a duvet cover has??

Could you use buttons, like on a duvet cover?
Or a thick velcro?
Or snaps?
Or velcro/snap combination
If you did buttons, I might make them "Non flippable" and have the opening be on the backside.
if its snaps you can do the usual style and put in at the top or bottom edge.
Do you have a pattern to work with?
Did you try looking online?

There's a place called Osgoods in Springfield MA that sell primarily to
the industry" but is open to the public, and they might be able to get zippers for you in the length you need. Google them to find out

You could also try any place that offers custom reapolstering- like Calico Corner (chain)

My Mom is an interior decorator, if you want I can ask her where someone could order zippers- one of her workrooms might know- let me know if you want me to ask her.

I was gonna say Velcro, but when you sit on it it might come undone. Someone else suggested Snaps and I have to second that one. Buttons would look really pretty also.

Okay, here is me and my SIL acting the part of peter pan and cpt hook

Just out of curiousity, how many points did you guys buy? I have been thinking about this, too. I love it, and we go every year. I figured in the long run, it would be cheaper.

We figured out it would take approximately 7 years for it to become a value. Does that make sense?
I think we bought 230pts @77 pr pt for OKW, Sept use year.
If I were to do it again I would pay more attention to the use year. I didnt really get how important that was.
For example- We always take our vacations in May, so we either have to borrow points from the upcoming year, or bank and use points we saved from the previous year.
On the other hand it works brillantly for going on a big vacay- like Hawaii. You can bank points from 1 year, then borrow points from the next year so you are working with 3 years worth of points.
You DO have to pay annual maintence fees. Each resort varies and it varies based on how many points you buy.
I would LOOOOVE to own at the new AKV, although buying those will put you at a premium price.
We own at OKW, which has the largest rooms. We can book there 12 months out- at 7 months out you can request other DVC properties. Because of this, last minute vacations can be a tad challenging. For example a month and half ago we decided we wanted to go, I was gonna book OKW for the dates I wanted- May 2-6, but DH really wanted BWV- which wasnt available til the tail end of the month, so we took that instead. If I didnt own at DVC I never would have paid the prices of BWI.

Help...I purchased the peasant dress on the YCMT.com site. As I was reading the cutting section it seems that the bodice is cut twice on not on the fold, but the pattern is for half of a bodice and says cut two on fold. So which is it? Also, is the skirt size (that is twice the bottom of the bodice) just one piece or do I need 2 pieces?

BOW MAKER---
Ebay Id waughzee
email her if you want something for a specific outfit- she's terrific

Hey Laura- are you out there reading this????? I think I should get a discount or somethin if all these lovely ladies order from you. LOL!!!

PS. Currently watching Mary Poppins to set the mood for sewing!
Dont you think the should do a Mary Poppins dark ride!? I can see it now!
If I can find my DVD of Nemo, thats up next
Does anyone else pull out their collection to prepare for their trip?

I too am sitting here reading the Portrait Peasant pattern!!!

I do nto have the pattern but here is what i think:

You cut the bodice on the fold. You need to cut 2 so you have a front and a back

As for the skirt. I am going to take a leap and say you cut 2 of them. One for the front and one for the back.

Since I do not have the pattern I can not really help you but I do make peasant dresses and this is how I make them
