Wow..20 pages...I have been lurking and looking through all the customs real quick and everything looks wonderful and beautiful!!!! I wanted to subscribe to this new thread and I am sorry that I haven't had time to comment individually. My dd has a ear infection again, and I am getting really concerned. She had her first ear infection about 7 weeks ago, and since then have gotten another 2...so 3 ear infections in 7 weeks. Normally, she is better and the pain goes away after couple days of antibiotic treatment, but she has been in pain since Friday. The pediatrician is thinking that we may have to go see an ENT specialist. I feel horrible for her, and feeling that it is all my fault after a friend told me that breastfed babies doesn't get many recurring ear infections. She also has wheat, eggs, and nuts allergies and again I was told that it was because I didn't nurse her long enough. I nurse her for about 7 months. My ds, on the other hand was nursed until he was 15 months, and has outgrew most food allergies except for dairy and nuts at 18 months old, and has not had been sick much or had an ear infection. I feel like a horrible mom! Sorry, I know I am rambling but I just want to cry every time I think about what was said to me and how my dd's allergies and ear infections are my fault! Anyway, we are off to the doctor's again today!

Jenny

I would say your friend wasn’t being very friendly! I breastfed Heidi for one year. Never an ear infection. I nursed Aleah for 14 months and Colby for 19 months. Both had so many ear infections that they got ear tubes. As a PP said, you are a GREAT mom! :cheer2:

I'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone here.

I finally have been able to get back to sewing, seems I am just always busy doing something. Unfortunately the first thing I did was catch up on Dallas' patches! Made for one happy boy though.

And we started our countdown calendar for Disneyland! We have never made one before but he kept asking how many more days until easter so we thought we would make one!

100_4833.jpg

Such a cute kid! Love the countdown.

Okay, whoever was looking for the cupcake applique, (sorry, too lazy/tired to go check the other thread) here is the one I used, sorry it took so long. I've been fighting my scanner. Wow, it looks kinda weird. Let me explain :rotfl: So, I grabbed dd's dirty t-shirt (chocolate milk stains), scanned it on my scanner, then outlined my copy with marker and made pencil lines where I wanted to cut the shape of the cupcake wrapper. Then I found that paper and scanned it in just for you! Then I put it in photobucket and started "erasing" some of the chocolate milk stains, then I gave up and voila! (who says I don't remember french?)

scan-1-1.jpg

Oh, and here's the finished product since I never did post my "favorite thing I've made" photo, even though you've all seen it before, this is it:

IMG_0967.jpg

I LOVE THIS! the color co-ordination is spot on- and sooooo cute! I wish I had a little girl to make one for- I don;t think my youngest (who is 24 by the way) would wear one if it made it for her!

Hello everyone. I need a bit of advice. My SIL is having a baby :yay: This is not the SIL, DB's wife, that thinks handpainted JoJo shoes are hideous and that custom boutiques are like costumes :sad2: This is DH's sister. She wants the gender to be a surprise. So I would like to make something for her but it needs to be gender neutral and reeeeaaally easy. Any suggestions???

Also, one of my best friends is having a baby too...a little girl. Any suggestions on something that is boutique style for an infant and easy???

I know it isn't as "fun" but I would make them nursing covers, diaper bag, shopping cart seat cover, blanket, etc. You can still make the cute outfits after baby is born.

OK- so now that I think I've mastered (to some degree anyway) this multi-quote thing, I'm gonna try thumbnail pics in quoting.... CAN SHE DO IT??? Let's see.....

[/I]
I don't know how many of you have a HL nearby, but I just saw that simplicity patterns are 1.99 this week! My dm and I were just talking about how we need some new patterns and voila, they are on sale! My dm works there so she gets another 15% off. She works in the fabric and yarn dept. I think it is her dream job!! One day I need to post a pic of her fabric closet!!

PLEASE- let's see you DM's fabric closet!!

Hi everyone, we've been back since Thursday, but just now getting out from under the loads and loads of laundry. Will post pics when I get them all together, but I have one question. What do I do now that we're back and have nothing to sew for? Hubby says no trip for 3 years:scared1:

Why QUILTS of course! WELCOME HOME!!

We went back to the hotel and ordered room service and crashed! Those girls wore us out! They played with their dolls for a little before they both passed out.

We got up again Saturday morning and the girls got their picture taken and it got put on a magazine cover.

Here is Drew waiting in the photo studio.
chicago035-1.jpg

After their picture they got to pick out a couple of more things. It was a big decision!
chicago036.jpg

chicago039.jpg

We went to the ESPN zone and ate lunch after we finished up at AG.

The girls played a couple of games in the game zone.

Girls from Kansas and Iowa aren't used to seeing such tall buildings!
chicago033.jpg

We went back to the hotel (Allerton=great if you are in Chicago!) and got our stuff that they were holding and the mom's went to Ikea!
chicago057.jpg

We had a good trip. It was quick though. I am taking Riley back in a few weeks for a mommy daughter trip. She didn't want to go with the little girls! I am looking forward to going when it is warmer so we can really enjoy the city.

They look like they had such a great time! Cute, CUTE girls!!!

I finally got my pics turned upright, so here is my latest! Sydni was all about posing!:rotfl:

And this is a closeup of the applique:
DSCF2114-1.jpg

I used Carla's simply sweet tops pattern and pants!

Such a cute outfit. Looks like we have another budding model on the way!

I've been lurking for a long while and you've inspired me to make a shirt for my tomboy DD. She loves Cars so I made her this Butterick 3832. Unfortunately it is WAY too short. I'm going to make it again as it was so easy. I haven't used my sewing machine in over 4 years. Thanks again for sharing all your amazing work!!!!!!

DSC07866.jpg

I think this is so wonderful. Something different for a girl and she loves it! You're a good mom letting her be who she is! I was a tomboy of sorts when I was little too, and all of a sudden around 13 (hmmmmm... wonder why?? ) I started wanting to be all girlie!

OK.... SO IT DIDN'T WORK!!!! At least I can multi-quote!!!

I finished this outfit for Violette...well almost....I still want to make the cloche hat to go with it but I have to buy some interfacing. Violette is only wearing the top in the pics because I hadn't done the pants at that point. I'll take another pic of the whole outfit once I do the hat. I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm really getting into sewing! Not bad for my 2nd outfit..hehe..
006.jpg
This is so adorable! I think the colors are so great and look really nice on Violette.

Okay, yes, I'm still unpicking :headache: but I had to say, DH also told me 3 years before we can go back to Disneyworld (well he really said 4 years but I immediately changed it in my mind to 3 years) so I'm thinking we should start planning right now (we need something to plan for right?) for DISBOUTIQUER FEST 2011--and with 3 years to save, we can definitely go deluxe! Maybe even get an extra room to set up as a sewing room! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Love the idea- can I come too??

:rotfl2: I wonder if Disney would take 3 years of payments for a 2011 Sew Fest?

Can you just see all our little darlings parading through WDW in their customs? Course in 3 years, Pissy will be 6 going on 16. :guilty:

Maybe in THREE years I can drop my 40 pounds?

Where shall we stay in 2011? :confused3 I vote POLY, since we'll be making 3 years of payments. We can have Hawaii night at Ohana.

IF I can come- we can stay at BCV and it will be on me- we own there!

I vote poly too since that would make it easier to convince DH. He fell in :lovestruc with the poly.

What about BCV? Let's do a girl's only trip- the guys won;t want to sit and cut patterns with us anyway- nor will they want to be models for us! :rotfl2:

I finally got some pictures of Tessa in her Peter Pan outfit yesterday. She wore it to the birthday party of my "Bestest Friend in the Whole Wide World"'s daughter.

DSC07019Medium.jpg

Here she is doing her Tinkerbell impression again:
DSC07025Small.jpg

Here is Ryen wearing the dress I made her for her birthday. Her mom actually squealed when she saw the dress and gave me a huge hug. :cloud9: Ryen loved it too and didn't want to take it off to try on the other dresses she got (which were cute, but not twirly). The underdress didn't look crooked like that in person, I swear.
DSC07044Medium.jpg
That Peter Pan truned out so cute- GOOD JOB GIRLIE!! Your DD's muist feel so special because they have a mom that thinks about them and makes them special clothes for special occasions. LUCKY GIRLS!

Woo-hoo!! I'm THERE!! The Poly sounds great to me! What thread number do you think we'll be on by 2011?

We are too much alike! Henry also said AT LEAST 4 years and I automatically changed it to 3 years. :rotfl:

Come on Heather- BCV's is good too!!! :rotfl: It has SAB... Poly doesn't have that!

Surprisingly, this quilt really did not take long at all- I did it in about a 5 days, but that was only working about 2 hours at a time. I'm sure if you wanted to you could easily sit down and do it in a day. The pattern is really simple.

Wow, 5 days!! That is incredible. One of these days I just might have to try something like that. Where do you buy your patterns?

It's been a while since I posted any pics but I am going to try. This is a dress my mom crocheted for my older dd when she was 4 (she is now 13). My younger dd who is now 4 loves it!

This is BEAUTIFUL! OMG!!! That must've taken such a great amount of time- and what an heirloom for your family. WOW! I wish I had something like that to pass down to my girls. Just beautiful.

so I have been lurking for a few months now and thought I would post some things I have made for our upcoming trip to Disney.

Snow White for my younger dd (she just turned 6)

Belle for my older dd (she is 8 1/2)

I need to tack up the tulle so it doesn't droop and finish the hem. I made these two dress over Christmas break (I'm almost done with nursing school!) and wasn't sure how much they would grow. They will wear these dresses after an appt at the BBB and for dinner at 1900 Park Faire.

My first attempts at applique:

oooh, a girls only trip before 2011--we stay at Karen's BCV, that just counts as therapy-- and we still get to bring the families in 2011 to the Poly! I'm in! I'm in!

WHEW!!!!! I got through the BAZILLION pages I missed over the weekend!

And they said it couldn't be done....... HA!!!

Mouse tripper-

That quilt is from a book by Buggy Barn called "Stir Crazy". If you go here http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/st...tore_id=425&page_id=23&Item_Id=1365&Photo=One
it will show you all the patterns in the book. the book costs $22.00, but you get 5 different patterns - not bad actually!

Buggy Barn is a technique for quilting. It's really pretty easy.

Remember how I said I wanted to either a 4th of July or Halloween quilt next?? Well, go here and maybe you guys can help me decide which one-

Should I do the kitty, the pumpkin or the witch??

Wow..20 pages...I have been lurking and looking through all the customs real quick and everything looks wonderful and beautiful!!!! Jenny

You ARE a GOOD MOM!! It is NOT Your Fault!! Ds was breastfed and he had 1 ear infection from birth to 3. Then right after he turned 3 he had almost continuous ear infections for almost 3 months!! everytime we went in for the recheck he STILL had one or it moved to the other ear or in both ears!!! :headache: So frustrating!! But they FINALLY cleared up and just in time- the Dr. said he was headed for tubes if they didn't. I had tubes once and my brother had them twice. They will get better and if they don't tubes will help.
Big hugs for her and sorry she is in pain. :flower3:

xdanielleax- I think your violette and my dd sophia are just about the same age- dd will be 2 july 18!!! I am already planning and keeping my eye out for party stuff. It will be a Tink themed party. And your 2nd outfit was very cute!! I like the halter style- I want to try some of those for dd.

They both look ADORABLE in their outfits!!
It's been a while since I posted any pics but I am going to try. This is a dress my mom crocheted for my older dd when she was 4 (she is now 13). My younger dd who is now 4 loves it!
