I love all the Alice outfits and the tink one.I have to :worship: you all on the wonderful work you do.I hope someday I will be at least half as good as you guys.

ok back to packing (breaks over)

rent a storage unit. that is what we are about to do because we too are pack rats.

We did but now I'm beginning to think we need 2. lol
We started out in a one bedroom apartment and it was very tight. So we moved into a two bedroom apartment because we were going to have so much more room. Now this apartment is crowded. So we are going to rent a storage unit for some of the things that we don't use and throw away some things and just clean house. I'm hoping that this will give us more room to move around in.

Wow, I don't remember this one at all! It is so cute! And I have always loved the chesire cat outfit, so original Aimee. Thanks for the low down on the tea. I didn't want to make her a traditional alice costume and this gives me a few ideas.

We did the Wonderland Tea Party earlier this month. Out of 20-or-so girls, 7-8 were dressed as Alice (traditional costume). I counted 3-4 of the standard park costume ('Alice' embroidered on the skirt), 2 other matching costumes, 1 completely sparkly costume, and DD's homemade costume. My DD was, as it was her Halloween costume from 2 years ago that still fit (I believe in making things big so they continue to fit!).

When we went in, the far (left as you're walking in) end of the table was where Alice sat.

Deb

Thanks! I will try to nab a seat on the left for Megan. When I was making the reservation she tried to make it for two kids but I told her that I didn't think my 8 year old boy would be interested in a tea party! :rotfl:

That is cute! I love the paisley. That outfit reminds me of the queen of hearts set that Lori bought. This will be a hard choice!

Hannah sat next to the Mad Hatter and was thrilled! I think the table is either horizontal or vertical depending on the number of kids.

A dress or top made out of playing card material would be cute to match for Alice in Wonderland.

I just bought a yard of playing card fabric to make a dress for Jenna to wear.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ladies and Gent!!

Its been a long long time. Well maybe a good few weeks. Things for me are slowly picking up the pieces. I have been working so much I hardly ever have time to take a shower.. No worries thought folks, I do make time for that. hahaha

I still have yet to sew, but I did get my fabric in a the storage thing my mom got for me when she was here. It rolls!! I am going to move a desk into the living room area so I cant put my sewing machine on it.

I am a lot happier now, shockingly, now that Kevin is gone. But that is a good thing. My best friend and I are going out next weekend. That should be fun! Georgia is suppose to see her dad. so I can relax and have some me time.

I dyed my hair too! Its um way different. its RED!

Ok well hopefully I will be on later to check everything out. I am off tonight. Thankgoodness!!

I have been going through my fabric stash and have been washing/ironing everything to get it ready to use.

My question is this.....I don't have a Disney trip planned yet but we are thinking maybe Spring 2009. I have a ton of Disney fabric that I plan on using for outfits but haven't washed any of it yet. Would you go ahead and wash/iron it now or just wait until I am ready to make outfits?
I would wait til your more ready to use it.

Very cute outfits!
Thanks!

LovesDumbo- meant to tell you I love the Buzz and Nemo outfits!!!!!!

Are those hard to do? I want to do one for DH.
Thanks!

I need to make some button downs for my DS. Gotta get those buttonholes perfected!

Here is what I did with the Tinkerbell pillow case :lmao:

So cute!

My dear sweet DH told me he thought it would be a good idea to put all my sewing stuff in storage till we are settled at the new place.I couldn't help but :lmao: at him.I told him its riding in the van with me!!! I have 4 unfinished dresses, that I had started on before my mouth surgey that I haven't had time to finish.I told him that tonight while he was at work (he works 3rd) and after dd goes to sleep I am not packing I am gonna get some sewing done. I just need some relax time lol do you all think this is wrong?

My biggest problem is we are moving from a 4 bedroom house into a 2 bedroom house.so we are losing alot of space, but it is saving us $800 a month to do it(more Disney trips for us:banana:  ).I will have to be super organized which I am not,not to mention me,DH,and dd are all pack rats. so this is fun lol

Just want to stay in touch,I have been reading everyday, just to tired to post
:wizard: Good luck with your move!

I too close up the A-line top at the bottom and I avoid hand-sewing. I sew the top and the sides then I use bias tape to finish the bottom hem. No hand-sewing, no turning things inside out.
Bias tape scares me!

Princess Kell, your hair looks great. So glad you are happier.
Now how about some pics of Georgia??? she is too cute.

Uh-oh- Im having that problem again- I cant decide what pattern and what fabric to use- cost me a week last time.

I really like the reversible A-line, just have to figure out how to do a better job closing it- I wish is closed at the hem and not the side. This would be great for summer use. Wish I had me some of the Buzz fabric now- I could go buy it- but I got this Princess stuff I should use.
OR- I have the Surfing disney characters for a shirt for DH- although I have 1 pattern Im waiting for another to arrive in the mail.....
OR I could take on something new- like the Carla'C protrait peasant dress....[/QUOTE]

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who does this!!! I thought it was just a novice sewer thing. I seem to second guess everything I put together.

I love all the Alice outfits and the tink one.I have to :worship: you all on the wonderful work you do.I hope someday I will be at least half as good as you guys.

I have to agree with you. Mabye someday I will be that good, but not today!

Your hair looks great and it is a big change. I'm glad that you checked in. I was beginning to worry about you and Georgia. Glad to hear things are going good for you.

Bias tape scares me!
I love bias tape. I use bias tape to close arm holes on non-reversible items.

I'm happy we heard from you! I've been thinking about you and Georgia! And your hair looks great! All you women and your hot new hairstyles--I guess I should at least get my roots touched up :rolleyes1 Although that would require DH to be home to watch the kiddos--no wonder I'm looking so bad! But I should say it here, to help keep me accountable (no more chocolate chip cookie photos PLEEEEASE!) I am starting to try to lose weight again today--I can't really say "diet" that just sounds weird. I think I will just go back to eating like I did when I was on WW without actually counting up all my points. Some exercise might help too. I just need to actually be able to fit into the clothes I already own :scared1:

That's how I feel, but I did lose six pounds this last weekend and that has renewed my commitment to lose weight. The blood pressure medicine that I am now on has taken almost all of the swelling out of my feet and legs and has really helped to boost my energy level. I'm hoping that this will help to get me motivated to lose some more weight.

I know it's already been said, but I'm saying it anyway. It's certainly been quiet around here these last few days. Where is everyone? Sewing, I hope!

Maybe everyone is in "lurker" mode. I know for me in between getting outside in the nice spring weather, spring cleaning and some sewing it is hard to get on to lurk let alone any posting. But I hope everyone is sewing- can't wait to see your creations!! popcorn:: :surfweb: No off to cut out my patterns and fabric!! And these allergies are not helping anything either!! aaaaachooo

After experimenting with the rag curls, I know want a perm again. Am I crazy? Aren't perms so 80's? I got my first spiral perm in 1987 and my last perm probably around 97. Do stylists even do sprial perms anymore? It cost me about $70 back then, wonder what they cost now? Hubby said go ahead if I want to. Hmmmmm.... That is a lot of fabric I could buy fot that!

Hi Everyone,

I'll never catch up on the time I've been gone, so I'll just jump back in here. We had a great time on vacation (except that it rained. A lot. Everyone tells us more rain in the week we were there than the month of April last year!) and I've just been super busy since we came back. I haven't even gotten my pictures downloaded to the computer yet! I was thinking of doing a trip report, but honestly don't have the vaugest idea where to start.

If anyone wants to give me a little assist in that area, I'll give it a shot :)

I love perming my hair! My one glitch is that there has always been this one piece in the front of my head that doesnt take- its not a piece anymore- but a section. When I went to a nice trendy salon to get a perm a couple years ago I could tell they were reluctant- and I dont think they really wanted to do it- but when it was finished people all around where like "WOW! Thats looks great!" i just say I want like a body wave and they do it a little tighter than that so it doesnt fall out in a few weeks- I find even the slight wave will last for a year. I love perms! I almost did that this time- instead of the hair cut, but since I have the section that I have to put a curling iron to everyday-I decided to pass.

Hi guys! I'm waaaay behind! I'm trying to get some outfits finished for our trip!

I LOVED being pregnant. It wasn't easy, it was usually terrifying and uncomfortable but for me it was amazing.

We sound a lot alike you and I! I absolutely LOVE being pregnant too. That is how I felt too. Lyddy's AFP came back funny too. I doubt I will ever get pregnant again, but if I did, I would not have that test done. All it does is cause worry. They wanted to do an amnio, but there was a 1% risk of miscarriage with that. When I was pregnant with Quinn, there was a 1% chance my water would break early and he would die, so 1% to me was too much of a risk. Obviously Lyddy turned out fine, but it was really stressful to worry about that for months! I had enough worry in my prenancies, I didn't need extra!
