Just popping in to give Twins+2more some :goodvibes .

4 girls???? I have 4 girls and 1 son and sometimes they get on my last nerve. I don't know how you do it. God Bless you! :wizard:

I don't post here much, I've become a lurker ;) But I do like to see what everyone has been making. Now I'm here to ask for help. I think this is the most beautiful, elegant, feminine outfit I've ever seen!!! I MUST make one and I don't know how! Any tips? Please

I was thinking about using a peasant top/dress pattern, but not sure how to make it so full at the bottom.

AND I'm looking for a pattern or instructions on how to make an elastic headband to match an outfit. Anyone know where to find one?

I just looked at that outfit on Etsy yesterday! I think it is very cute! But, I do not know how to make it fuller.

I have been going through my fabric stash and have been washing/ironing everything to get it ready to use.

My question is this.....I don't have a Disney trip planned yet but we are thinking maybe Spring 2009. I have a ton of Disney fabric that I plan on using for outfits but haven't washed any of it yet. Would you go ahead and wash/iron it now or just wait until I am ready to make outfits?

I have to say this thread has taken a beginner sewer and turned me into a sewing phene!!!

Well, the party was yesterday. I think it went pretty well. My neighbor who has 3 little girls- ages 6,4 and 3, is pregnant again- 8 weeks. THe husband wants a boy in the worst way. LOL. However, he is in the air force and he's gone for big chunks of time. Right now he's training in TX-learning to fly a new cargo plane, gone for 3 months, but back for occassional weekends. Anyway, their daughters- while always adorable dresses, are not always the best behaved.- ex.- when we started to open presents these girls just swarmed- they wanted to open them!!! -hands already pulling at tissue paper in gift bags and stuff- OH MY!!!
DH said he was shocked and just didnt know what to say. I just said, "thats okay, I'm going to help her open her presents, could girls step back a bit, ooh, maybe you could sit down and watch? Oh THANK YOU!" But they were hovering right on the invisable line-the only thing I felt bad over was they kept trying to take Megan's toys from her- in a coy way "Would you like me to take care of your baby for you?" and her shy 2.5yr old cousin gave her a My Little Pony Birthday set (which she promptly threw on the ground- UGH! why- I felt bad for my little neice who picked the pony out)I scolded DD and then I was selecting the next gift to open and talking to someon so missed this- but apparently DD had the pony set in her hands and the oldest girl asked "Would you like for me to open that for you" and Megan- who says yes to everything let her have it. I didnt find all the peices until after they left. And I saw her little cousins lip slowly pout out, now I knw why- she picked out that gift for her. I feel really bad. DH saw it- AND her parents were sitting right there. ...sigh....

On a good note, the outfit was hit- everyone LOVED it and complimented her on it. My Mom wanted to show my brother the outfits I made for Disney- he didnt want to see them, but I dont care, it was nice to see she wanted to show off my stuff. ;)
I dont know whats going on in my brother's life, but whenever I see them he has an aura of tension around him that extends about 6-10ft!!
I did a little gift bag for my neice on DH's side- for her Disney Cruise and I put Disney dollars in there- she had never seen them and was very excited. (YEA!!)
here are pics- here is DD7 with neice whos going on disney cruise

I was so happy, even tho it was overcast and bit coolish, it never rained. Of course the sun is out today. But we seeded our lawn and used mulched hay and its really doing a number on me-sinus pressure, post nasal drip, sore throat, etc. i keep telling myself I should leave for the day- but it's 11 now and Im still here! Just tired and want to sleep.

Logan looks so handsome and your niece is a doll! That is a lot of birthdays all at once!

That happened to me at my son's third birthday party. We had just moved here and I invited all the kids from the neighborhood and they were terrible! I guess with family you can't skip inviting them next year like I did!

Your daughter's outfit came out super cute and you two are so pretty! I like your new haircut!

I am going to go practice right now! Thank you!

Love that dress! If I were to someday CASE that :rolleyes1 I would use Carla's portrait peasant dress pattern and do the rumba version with the narrow ruffles. I would use single thickness ruffles instead of double thickness and I would also gather my attachment strips (seperately from the ruffle strips) to make it full. There would be a lot of math involved :scared:

So here's the Buzz outfit. I had some problems with the buttonholes so I hope fray check really works. I should have know not to try it while tired but I so wanted the outfit complete.

Here's the Nemo outfit. I like it better with the capris that are more bermuda short legnth. And my tomboy really LOVES this outfit so that is what really matters.

Sorry for the "issues" at the party - but all in all seems like it was a good time. Your DD looked so cute and happy!

Isn't it gorgeous!!! Since Math is my specialty, I might just be able to figure that out!

I have been a lurker and totally inspired by these threads. I have been sewing since I was very young and was so excited to have two girls to sew for.

QUESTION...
What do you sew with flannel? I usually just make PJ/lounge pants, but would like other ideas.

Thanks!

I use flannel for shoe bags. I needed to make some for men a few years ago and couldn't find anything I liked in regular fabric, so I bought cotton flannel. They love them. Great for a quick shoe shine while traveling. :)

I just did the bow myself- Im left handed and its not as easy as it looks!
The bow came out perfect on my second try though.

Ugh- just got an email, woman has 12 dogs, her husband walked out in Dec with 9yr old daughter, she has 91 yr old Mother to care for. Has to give up her dogs. She has 3 labs we'll be taking, no vaccinations, and I believe we will have to get them spayed too. She needs them to go asap, because she can barely afford dog food for them.
Another is giving up 10yr old lab- I forget reason why.

LovesDumbo- meant to tell you I love the Buzz and Nemo outfits!!!!!!

and the boys shirt- Logan was it? Really cute.
Are those hard to do? I want to do one for DH.

I didn't buy these, but this seller also had them and a tinkerbelle. But I already hav a Tink I need to do something with.
Haha. I also bought that second fabric. We are going to be staying at the Poly in September and I thought that fabric was perfect.

Deann, I would love to figure out how to make that dress too!! It is TDF!!

I would suggest making it like a teired skirt. Use the PP dress pattern for the bodice. Double the width of the bodice for the first teir (ruffle). Then double each ruffle teir. KWIM? The last ruffle teir will be soooo long!! When I finally get arouund to making this one, that's how I'll do it. I've had that one saved since Valentine's day to do! HTH.

Elisa - I did a black and white set for Animator's Pallette. You should do a Steamboat Willie custom in black and white for AP. How cute would that be!!

Ya'll are gonna have ya'll's hands full. I hope they all find good homes with people who will love them.

I was keeping my eye out, because about a year ago, they were selling the vests that they wore at AP. The black and white on one side and color on the other. It would be neat to do a dress that is black and white on one side and total color on the other. Or reversible even. :rotfl:

I finally got my two new Abracadabra patterns in the mail today and I got my Nemo fabric in also. I now have three types of Nemo fabric and I also have two of the Nemo book patterns and I don't know what to do with it. I only bought the Nemo fabric because I picked up the cutest Nemo ribbon that was on sale. (I know I have issues) I know that I want to make something with Nemo on it for Jenna to wear to Epcot. I need ideas.

Definitely let her know that her listing clearly states free shipping. If she still insists on charging you more shipping, you can report this to eBay by filing a dispute. I think that will allow you to cancel the purchase without getting "dinged" as a non-paying buyer. I believe it would fall into the "seller non-performance" policy.

Hi!! I thought I would let you all know. We came to an agreement. We split the remaining amount of shipping. So I only paid an additonal $16 shipping. Im happy shes happy. So my total came to 89.5 yards of Michael Miller, Robert Kaufman, Moda ext. for $3.80 a yard including shipping.
