I have had SO many PM's for the Yoyo instructions I thought I would post it here! SO I have pictures on how to do it.

What you need is:
IMG_3257.jpg

The tape is what i used for my Circle template

Put your curcle template on the fabric and trace
IMG_3258.jpg

Cut your circle out
IMG_3259.jpg

Using your needle and thread sew around the edge folding over a tiny amount of your fabric
IMG_3260.jpg

IMG_3261.jpg

When you are finished it looks like this
IMG_3262.jpg

Then you pull the string where you finished (Your needle is still attached)
and it will look like this

IMG_3263.jpg

With your needle add a button in the center to the flower
IMG_3265.jpg
taking the thread through the flower and back through the button to secure the button

When you are finished tie off your thread with a knot
you will have a flower!

IMG_3266.jpg

You can add ric rac for a cute flower
IMG_3267.jpg

Or you can add them to clothing as is
set2-1.jpg

I have also used the on Headbands
set50-1.jpg

lol, I love Yoyo Flowers and like this method because you can make them as large or small as you would like them to be. With the Yoyo maker, you have to buy different sizes (They are $5 something each at my Joann's) and it is super simple to do :)

Hope to help someone

Hmmmm....Maybe I'll I mean DD will have one to post pictures of this afternoon!!

I can't wait to see pictures! They don't have Lily's size (XXS) so I guess she'll have to wait for her Sam's one. I wouldn't mind having one of these, especially since I ordered her Sam's one kinda big. I do wish they had other colors though--like a light blue Cinderella!

Thanks ALOT. :worship: You made that so simple. :worship:

I have been away in NH, and boy you guys have been busy! I need to catch up, but I wanted to let you all know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

I thought the exact same thing! I wish they had these in every color! We all know how much a petti costs anywhere else, so I thought this was a great deal. I would have gobbled them up in every color for sure!

When you get them in (those that have ordered), please post a pic! I'm thinking now about what I should do for a top to go with this. I just got a really cute applique/embroidery princess carriage design. I'm thinking I might do that on a tank top. What do you think?
I think that would be a cute outfit.

I'm glad to see that these are coming back in to style. I always liked these. I saw a quilt made of nothing but yoyo's. It was really pretty.

Boohoo, none of 3 Disney Stores near me have the pettiskirts in yet. I hope they get them soon and that they are the same price as online -- I have a 15% off coupon that I can use on it!

Since I have nothing new to post, here are photos of previously unmodeled outfits :rotfl: prepare yourself for some bad lighting :scared:

Here is Jayden's Hannah Montana shirt WITH the skirt. She wore it to church the other day and the boy she has a crush on told her she looked "beautiful". It made her day!

IMG_0105-1.jpg

And here is Lily modeling one of my outfits for the boutique. The underdress is not uneven, she just wouldn't hold still.

Very cute!

You've probably answered this before, but what is this boutique you're creating for? Is it a local deal?

I know Shannon (revrob) has one. She got me looking at them! I'd be interested to hear what others think about this machine also (the 150 and the 250, I'm still not sure what the differences are :confused3 ) If I could ever get out of the house without any kids I'd go look at them at Joanns.

I recently bought the 250. It comes with Autopunch software and more decorative stitches. The autopunch will digitize, but it is a very simplified program. You can scan or save clipart, etc on your computer and it will turn it into an embroidery design. You could draw it as an outline only and turn it into applique. Once it automatically digitizes you don't have many editing options. Mainly you can change colors or skip sections. There is also a way you can create designs from scratch, but I haven't tried that yet. I took a digitizing class that used Viking 4D, and that gives MANY more options. I know there are a lot of other software options out there, but haven't yet looked into them. If you want to really get into digitizing, I would recommend the 150 and 3rd party software, but autopunch is also a good way to get started. The 350 simply comes with more software. The nice thing about futuras is they connect directly to your computer via USB cable. You don't have to move designs to and from memory cards, and it will read all types of software designs. I've been able to use my mil's viking designs, my aunt's brother designs, and those found on the internet to download.

HTH!

That sounds pretty awesome.

This is for our trip in September. It is a little big but it is should fit perfectly then. The Mickey parts fabric is a dish towel set. They lady at the little kitchen shop asked me if we needed plates to go with the towels and I said or course not this is going to be clothes soon!

I am having bows and bling made to match. I am very excited about this one. Free Dining helps too. :)

Wow, I love the towels in the skirt! It is too cute! I also love the "fluffiness" of the skirt. Is there a petti underneath or did you just add extra strips? Fantastic job!

Hi Everyone,

DH is being really strict and not let me shop at all!!! Im dying to see the dollar fabric at Joann's - i had 1 yard of that Christmas Mickey fabric and the kids loved it to death - I'd love to find more for them!!!

Okay - I need help with a swimsuit for Elizabeth, who is soon to be 6. She no longer fits in the 5T which is a bummer, because all of the sudden suits go to string bikini or low cut V necks!!! I love getting her one of those sets that has a rashguard top for the beach. Then I dont get a lot of trouble about sunscreen! She does wear sunscreen, but with the rashguard top, we dont have to reapply as often. I usually get that at Target - any ideas where I can get a suit like that in a size 6/7?

Thanks so much!! Wendy

I was just at Target yesterday and they and they had the rash guard tops. Also, check out Gymboree. Our Gymboree outlet (not the regular store) had all of their swimsuits (including some that were rash guard tops) for $15. That is about the same as Target but they were pretty cute!

I have a delimma. I sold a car to my Best Friend and now two weeks later she says that they don't want to deal with the issues that the car has and wants to give it back to me. She was told about everything that was wrong with the car before she even came to get the car. Am I being a (insert bad word here) for asking them to keep their end of the deal? I told them that I would take some money off of the car because one of the problems is a little worse than we previously thought, but I feel that a deal is a deal.

Ooh, yucky situation. I have no suggestions on this. I agree with you but at the same time wouldn't want to end a friendship. Sorry!

With all the posting of everyone's beautiful babies - it's making me want another! You'd think I would get my baby fix at work, but it's just not the same. And now that I've told you all to stop posting your baby pics, I feel the need to share! Caleb wasn't a classic "cute" newborn, but was a chunky monkey! I mean his rolls had rolls. His chubbiness made him cute, I thought! I miss that stage so much! Ella looked more of a classic newborn. They are about the same age in these photos - about 3 months old.

I really should be packing up - I'm scrappin with some friends tomorrow - but I loathe packing up all my supplies. I collect scrapbook supplies like I do fabric - so that means I have entirely too much! And I can't narrow anything down - I feel the need to take nearly everything I own - because what if I need it? So, I'll go tomorrow, use only about 5% of what I brought and maybe have one page completed! But it will be fun!

Love the baby pictures and I LOVE the rolls! Have fun scrappin'! I'm jealous!

Thanks again for inspiring me to sew again!!! You are all so talented!!!

So I had to try YCMT easy pants and with flannel on sale last week for $2/yd I made the kids sleep pants. I forgot to add the extra for the hem & casing when I made the pattern so I had to add cuffs.

I was able to find a coordinating fabric for my tomboy DD(5):
th_DSC07894.jpg

for my DS(7):
th_DSC07893.jpg

for my DD(9 next month). The kids have never seen me sew before I made the too short shirt 2 weeks ago. My oldest aske me how I made the PJ pants look so real.:rotfl:
th_DSC07896.jpg

I was so impressed with the YCMT easy pant pattern-even before I sewed the pants that I bought the A Line top/dress. I practiced on a top for my oldest DD. This fabric is on sale at JoAnns this week for $1.99/yd. I have to find the book for my sewing machine to figure out how to do button holes again. I did make a mistake when making this. I wasn't paying attention and didn't sew the oppoiste side seam on the lining so I had to rip that out. I didn't make that mistake on the next one.

I made my youngest DD a Cars A Line top. The criss/cross back shirt I made her 2 weeks ago was too short and when I added the extra 4" to the pattern I didn't like the new line of the back. I love this A Line on her! I made her shorts using the easy fit pant pattern. I made the cuff just 1/2 size though. I also used a size smaller for a snugger fit.

th_DSC07904.jpg

I also bought the YCMT patchwork twirl skirt pattern for my oldest. Here's what we picked out for it. I'm going to make it about 19" long-I'll just add extra to each tier. The top tier will be the flag fabric.
th_DSC07883.jpg

Thanks again for all the inspiration. I did buy a boy's camp shirt pattern to make my DS a Cars shirt but I'm hoping Carla comes out with her pattern soon.

Great job on the pajama pants!

I love your patriotic fabric. I've been thinking that I need to get some fabric for my girls for the 4th of July. I know the baby is due around then so I want outfits completed in plenty of time.

wow, that was very helpful and interesting! What type of software would you need to get the 250 to digitize? Is autopunch just a digitizing program? I feel like I need to go back to school and get a degree in machine embroidery--it seems so complicated! Viking 4D sounds cool.

Very cute!

You've probably answered this before, but what is this boutique you're creating for? Is it a local deal?

It is just a local boutique. My neighbor moves most of the furniture out of her house and has a boutique 4 or 5 times a year. She gets a pretty big crowd! There are some bigger boutiques around we could get into but I would need a whole lot more inventory, which I do not have time to create.

First ~ prayers to everyone who has loved ones with health problems. I know how stressful it can be when you are living with worry.

Life has been crazy here!:dance3: Drew had a horrible cold the week before last and missed almost the whole week of school. Riley woke up last sunday with a kidney/bladder infection. She has a long history with this and had surgery last year to help. She was devastated and very upset because we had a special big girl & mommy day planned for my birthday. We ended up going to the hospital and then going on with our shopping day! I have been getting ready for a garage sale. Riley ended up missing all but Friday from school so she got really behind on her science project for the fair so yesterday her science challenged mom had to help her finish her project!

Anyway.... That was just whining. You can ignore that. Mostly I am just hoping that things settle down around here and that when Riley goes off her prescription that her infection does not come back. We have had times when it has taken months to finally get one to clear up.

I did take some time to work on a simple project.

This was pretty fun to do! Can you tell what it is? I don't like the jeans so I am going to look for some pretty fabric to make some capris out of.

Love the Hello Kitty Shirt! SO cute!

Candace you rock! I'm going to have to make a few of those yoyo flowers now.

I'm so far behind on everything. The apartment is no where near cleaned. I haven't done much on Delaney's birthday party. And worst of all we leave in 47 days and I haven't sewn any of the million projects I wanted to do for the trip yet. I've got to get organized so I can sit and sew.

Everyone is doing such amazing work!

Can anyone tell me the measurements for the sizes 3 and 4 in Carla C's new capri pattern? I can't decide which one to buy because I have no idea what size Delaney would be wearing.

I'm going to go call Disney here in a few minutes and get our vacation paid. I can't believe we're only 47 days out, I'm getting excited, I'm sure it'll be here before I know it.

I am SO with you! I feel like there is gaps between the stitches in the designs that come with the machine! I used the Minnie and Mickey one where they are dnacing to put on a skirt for my daughter and I was SHOCKED!
The last time I stitched out just Mickey there were so many gaps in his ears I ended up using a Sharpie to fill in his ears. And the trademark Disney at the bottom of every design also detracts, don't you think? I used to think it was user error, but all of my free designs from the web are perfect so I know it's not just me!

Have you bought any of the additional Disney design cards? I wonder if they are as bad as the built-in designs?

So I'm going to try not to talk about it alot, and we'll be making a count down calendar when we get closer. In the meantime, I need to plan the thousand or so outfits that they will need for that week..:rotfl:

I have a nice, normal countdown calendar. I took some poster board and cut it into the shape of a castle, complete with the open drawbridge door cut out. Then I glued it on top of a dry erase board where I can write in the count down each day. I embellished the castle and started counting - we count by the week until 30 days out, then we're allowed to go daily.

My Aunt Eve made my Mom a very unique, yet very Disboutique countdown calendar. She got a ton of Disney clip art, turned them into iron ons and made count down panties (y'know, like the days of the week ones you can buy). So, My mom has a set of underwear for the 30 days up until a trip - she sits on a different character each day!

Just some ideas for you...
