Love them all, especially the Cars A line top!

That is great that she loves sewing! She looks so happy with her creation.

Good Morning everybody! It looks like everyone had a busy weekend...I will never get caught up.:surfweb: I skimmed and the outfits are so cute! As are all of the babies...I am not sure that I have any pictures of mine on the computer...we were too poor when we first got married to have a digital so I have tons of photos in a box and more in scrapbooks (my other obsession). I thought all of my babies were the most beautiful things when they were born. Nobody could tell me different, even though my husband tried with the boys:headache: . Now, looking back...eeeeehhhhhhhh...I was blinded by love. ! That's okay. I think they are all sweeties now and are great kids...the rest really does not matter!

My DD's rescheduled birthday party was this weekend. But for one reason or another almost everyone cancelled, which in the end worked out. My grandmother (81) has an aneurysm and it started leaking this weekend, so we traveled home and visited her. The DR gave her some meds to keep her comfortable...now we just wait. There is no way to do any exploratory to see what is happening, but there are two options. One - it is leaking between the layers of the vessel and it will clot. Two - it is leaking into her abdomin...it will continue to leak. She is at home now, so she is happy. i just hate to see her in pain! Just ask for some prayers and strenght for the family right now.:worried:

So sorry about your grandma. Will keep your grandma and your family in my prayers.

Am I the only one who went CRAZY at Joann's yesterday. I got way to much.:rotfl: :rotfl: I got LOTS and LOTS of Flannel for $1.50 or cheaper a yard.  I also got some denim at $2.50 a yard or cheaper. :cool1: And some satin like that was $13 a yard for $2.50 a yard. I also bought a ton of tutti frutti at $1.99 a yard.  I got some eyelet fabric half off. Also two fourth of july prints with 50% coupon. :yay: Hubby paid for some. I paid for the other. Also all thread is 50% off.  I loaded up with wooly nylon a ton and alot of others. Also got 13 99cent patterns. :lovestruc This is only the second time I have been to Joanns. It was on the way to my parents 4 hours away. Please tell me I am not the only one. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Melanie

I almost spent $500.

DD 04/25/94
DS 02/27/96
DS 02/28/05
DD 10/19/06

I must have missed out on the great sale over the weekend. I was at Joanns this morning but didn't find any great deals! I still walked out of there spending too much.

This was pretty fun to do! Can you tell what it is? I don't like the jeans so I am going to look for some pretty fabric to make some capris out of.

THat is SOOOO cute! I love it!

I love the mouse-made Cindy dress!

First off, I want to thank you all for your compliments on my Diego dress :) It really means a lot. I had decided to use Carla's sweet top bodice with her stripwork skirt. Hopefully attaching the bodice to the skirt while keeping the gathering even will get better with time..lol..I think I'm going to go to walmart today and see if I can find a green shirt to match. I'm not feeling the brown.

I love the Diego dress - it's really cute! We went to see Go Diego Go live last July, and my dd and ds loved it. At the time, I wasn't sewing yet...so no customs for them.

I finished making the Strawberry shortcake PJ pants! I am IN LOVE with this flannel backed satin like material. Okay I do not know what it was called but it was SO worth the $3 a yard I paid and I got one pair of capris (Sz 19) one pair of Capri's (sz 5) and one pair of shorts (sz 2) out of 2 yards! :rotfl: Now off to sew some more :)

and go figure the 9 year old is the only one that wanted ruffles!

I know at my Wal Mart the Brother Disney Sewing machine went on clearence for about $249! lol, of course that was 91 days AFTER I bought mine :rotfl: I honeslty only used it twice before I decided to make outfits for Disney! lol
I have a Brother Embroidery machine, but it's not the Disney one and I paid $347 for mine. Not fair. :rotfl:

If you want a nice even gather and you are not going for a SUPER twirl then what i do is crank up the tension all the way (Mine is 9) and the stitch length (Mine goes to 5) and slow down the machine to the slowest speed and you will have an awesome even gather! Works great for twirl skirts and jumper dresses! lol, It is my perferred method! Here is the only close up I can find of this method. it is a ruffle at the bottom of a pair of pants but you can see it gathers Nice at least!

I got the Disney one and honestly have hardly used the Disney designs! And the funny thing is I forgot I even had them and just bought a CD with the SAME designs on it! lol, I think I just got over excited since getting the PED software and wanted to use it :rotfl2: lol, or I had a brain fart.

That Cars dress is SO cute. Was it tricky or "beginning no experience at all" friendly?

love the outfits. Your babies are just too precious!!!

:goodvibes

PS-does your daughter dance? Her point is lovely!

Thanks! I use the YMCT Simply Sweet Dress/Top pattern and it was very easy. My dd just started taking dance lesson in January and loves it! I just registered her for the 2008-2009 session this morning.

Where did you get the Cars fabric? I LOVE it!

I love these outfits. They are so cute. That Cars fabric is just too cute!!! I haven't seen any of that around here just yet.

Awww those outfits are so cute!! And you kids are adorable!!! I really like that cars fabric too...where did you get it? I have never seen that one before!

I bought the CARS fabric at Joanns probably about a month and a half ago. I went back couple days later to get more but they were all out, and I have not seen it since. I wish I had bought more!

So cute! I like the dresses as is without pants. What pattern did you use for the boy's shirt?

Thanks! I use Butterick 3475 for the boy's shirt. I prefer it to the McCall's pattern that I was using.

I love the pink Chip and dale! Is than an :wizard: find?

Yep..an :wizard: find...it came all the way from Malaysia. When I bought it I only knew it was coming from Asia...then I found out that it came from Malaysia...and that's where I am from, yet I can't find anyone there to get them for me!

My husband wants me to get the software to create my own designs. :lmao: I want it also. I just think it is funny that he wants me to have it. When I first got my machine he couldn't wait for me to try it out. He sat there and watched me sew for awhile. He was fascinated by my machine and all of the neat things it can do. I just found out that it can sew without me using the foot pedal. :scared1: It really can do anything.

:rotfl2: MY husband wants me to get the exact same thing! He wants his work logo on some shirts. (at any cost apparently :confused3 )

LovesDumbo- which pattern did you use on YMCT.com for the A-line dress-top?
Nevermind-I found it- thanks

Has anyone seen any Nemo or Monsters, INC fabric? I have been searching and searching and can not find it anywhere :( I did go to the Thrift store in hopes of finding a sheet but only walked out with a Buzz Lightyear one! lol

equilter.com has both Nemo and Monsters, Inc fabric.

When I got my PE700 5x7 embroidery machine I gave my PE150 4x4 to my daughter (alikat99). When I went to Florida for a visit it was her Hubby, Chris, who sat with me and took notes on how to use the machine, how to use the stablizers and which ones to use when and troubleshooting. He is interested in learning how to digitize so I also brought with me my PE Design software to play around with. Actually I think he was the one to suggest me giving the machine to Amy rather than selling it...LOL I had also picked up a PED Basic for her when Walmart had them clearanced for $64 last Fall....Nana

Mine wants me to put Yoda on a shirt for him. :lmao: Men are hilarious aren't they?

A couple of people have asked how I attached the buttons on this top so here are my very simple instructions!

1.) I traced the shape of her head and marked the eyes, nose and center of the bow onto the shirt.

2.) I used a teeny tiny thread of glue to attach the buttons. I started with the bow and then did the little bit of ear that shows behind that and then the rest of the head and the eyes and nose.

3.) When the glue was dryish I used embroidery floss and attached the buttons.

Super easy and fast! I think the whole thing took less than an hour.
Thanks!! I appreciate the directions!
Sorry I am just so far behind and haven't had a chance to go catch up. Here are couple things that I made dd.

I am undecided if I should make dd pants for the CARS and Chip 'n Dale dress.

DH just informed me last night that other than the Sleeping Beauty gown that I made, dd doesn't really have many casual princess themed outfit for Disney World...so I am going to be working on some princess themed outfit for dd next.

HeatherSue - don't know if I have said it before but your applique tutorial is great!! I haven't had much luck finding the teflon pressing sheet at my Hancocks or JoAnns - none of them have a clue what I am talking about, and I really, really, really want one! I might have to check the quilt store in town.

Jenny
JENNY! Those are fabulous!!! Your kids are so cute too!!! I love those fabrics! I'm not sure which I like best! Unless you think she will get cold, I think these look great without pants.

I think there was a sub-category for animals and there was several crab things in there just not Elise's outfit.

You and Teresa do a FABULOUS job on the account! I don't know what we would all do without you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:worship: :worship: :worship:

 Oh yes, there IS an animal section!

Thanks! I get so use to saving every picture I see, that sometimes when I go to other sites I find myself impulsively right clicking and almost saving them to my computer!!! It's really hard to stop myself while reading trip reports! Right now we have three computers, and I save pictures on all of them, so I am a bit behind uploading! It drives my son nuts that I have a Dis folder on every desktop!

Thank you for that tip!!! It looks like I have a couple of posts to add to the bookmarks tonight!!!

Do any of you have a singer futura? I want to know how it compares to the machines some of you are talking about it. I keep reading the information about it and it says make embroidery designed from clip art or picture. . . dos that mean it comes with digitizing software??? Just curious. . . If I am going to save for years (or a year, well see ;)) for a machine, then I want it to do it all, lol!

I know Shannon (revrob) has one. She got me looking at them! I'd be interested to hear what others think about this machine also (the 150 and the 250, I'm still not sure what the differences are :confused3 ) If I could ever get out of the house without any kids I'd go look at them at Joanns.

I have the Futura 150. I bought it without the software mainly because I knew that I could add the software later, and I could invest a little at a time. I've not purchased any software yet (though I have downloaded a sample, and I'm very tempted to take the plunge!) I really enjoy my machine. I use it only for embroidery since I have a great sewing machine.

And to make matters more complicated there is also the CE-350 ;)

Good to hear. . .

I have another ?? Do you have to re-thread with each color? Or do you thread with several colors at a time?? Just something I am always thinking about. . .
