A couple of people have asked how I attached the buttons on this top so here are my very simple instructions!

1.) I traced the shape of her head and marked the eyes, nose and center of the bow onto the shirt.

2.) I used a teeny tiny thread of glue to attach the buttons. I started with the bow and then did the little bit of ear that shows behind that and then the rest of the head and the eyes and nose.

3.) When the glue was dryish I used embroidery floss and attached the buttons.

Super easy and fast! I think the whole thing took less than an hour.

What a cool tee and fun way to do it!

HeatherSue - don't know if I have said it before but your applique tutorial is great!! I haven't had much luck finding the teflon pressing sheet at my Hancocks or JoAnns - none of them have a clue what I am talking about, and I really, really, really want one! I might have to check the quilt store in town.

Jenny

Have you looked at JoAnn's in the area where they keep their quilt supplies? That's where my local JoAnn's has these. I think they had two brands - the one I bought is Fons & Porter (FYI - this brand is usually excluded from coupons for discounts on quilt supplies) and the other is a brand I don't recall. The F&P came in a plastic tube shaped bag with zipper at the top so it's reusable.

Here's the one I got: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3591&PRODID=prd53546&source=search

Here's another: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3591&PRODID=prd10482&source=search

I didn't spend as much as you, but wound up with almost 40 yards of fabric. :rotfl:

It's official. I am in a FIGHT with North Jersey. We don't have ANY stinkin fabric stores. The nearest Joann's is in Nyack New York! GRRRRR!

fun for you though!!

Congrats on your cruise!!:cool1:

I have been busy with PTA but I wanted to let you know Scrappy found a bunny den in our backyard! My husband was taking the kids fishing in the pond behind our house when he spied Scrappy chasing something around the yard. He found the den and was able to save two of the bunnies; we are hoping the mother will come and move them tonight.

Isn't Scrappy the most noble creature! What a GOOD boy to find and save baby rabbits. Could he get any sweeter?! Dachshunds are such loving and courageous dogs!

Beau-Jack helped clean up the living room yesterday. He spied a cupcake wrapper on the coffee table and he hopped right up there and ate it. While there was still some cupcake in it. He was HELPING Sally not to over indulge...he didn't want her to get sick...

Isn't he helpful?

and to think that my husband and his mother thought poor BJ should get a time out! He got one...in my lap...

*ahem*

time out INDEED!

Sorry I am just so far behind and haven't had a chance to go catch up. Here are couple things that I made dd.

I am undecided if I should make dd pants for the CARS and Chip 'n Dale dress.

DH just informed me last night that other than the Sleeping Beauty gown that I made, dd doesn't really have many casual princess themed outfit for Disney World...so I am going to be working on some princess themed outfit for dd next.

That Cars dress is SO cute. Was it tricky or "beginning no experience at all" friendly?

love the outfits. Your babies are just too precious!!!

:goodvibes

PS-does your daughter dance? Her point is lovely!

Where did you get the Cars fabric? I LOVE it!

Hope you didnt do as BAD as me. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Although I am in tears:sad1: :sad1: I could of saved 15% off everything. With my teachers card and I forgot. That is almost $75 :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: .
But I will REMEMBER next time. And hubby didnt seem mad. He spent more in there than I did. :rotfl: :rotfl: And no I am not a teacher. But I homeschool my children.

Melanie

I was in there the other day and I forgot my 40% off coupon. They told me to bring it back in with my receipt and get it credited. I can't remember how far away your joanns is, but you may want to call them and see if they would adjust it if you brought your receipt in.:confused3

I have called they said no. Oh well live and learn I guess. And its 3 hours from here. So it would have been 6 hours driving to save 70 dollars or so minus gas. Probably wouldnt have been worth it. But thanks alot for trying to help.

Has anyone seen any Nemo or Monsters, INC fabric? I have been searching and searching and can not find it anywhere :( I did go to the Thrift store in hopes of finding a sheet but only walked out with a Buzz Lightyear one! lol

Wow! You've been busy Bernadette! Everything looks great!
Got to love the YCMT patterns!
Thanks! Love the YCMT patterns! Thanks to everyone for showing all the great stuff you've made with them.

WOW!!!!! You have REALLY impressed me! These are SO well executed, especially for a beginner. The a-line tops look perfect! I was laughing at the "How did you make them look so real" comment! :rotfl: That is so cute!
Thanks! I'm not really a beginner but I haven't made any clothes in 10 years so its been a long while. It fun getting back into it!

You did a great job. Love the cars outfit. I am in the process of making a cars top for my dd. I was worried about the boyish feeling, but your looks girly! Great work!
Thanks!

Morning all!! Just wanted to share a few pictures that I thought y'all might enjoy! I documented this most especially for all y'all!! I also wanted Sally to have a record of her first time sewing! She's a future Disboutiquer for sure!!
Those pictures are wonderful! She did a great job!!!

That sounds so fun to have a mommy and me trip.
They are wonderful! The kids staying home know I'll bring back something and they know they will have their turn someday too.

My DD's rescheduled birthday party was this weekend. But for one reason or another almost everyone cancelled, which in the end worked out. My grandmother (81) has an aneurysm and it started leaking this weekend, so we traveled home and visited her. The DR gave her some meds to keep her comfortable...now we just wait. There is no way to do any exploratory to see what is happening, but there are two options. One - it is leaking between the layers of the vessel and it will clot. Two - it is leaking into her abdomin...it will continue to leak. She is at home now, so she is happy. i just hate to see her in pain! Just ask for some prayers and strenght for the family right now.:worried:
 :wizard:

I haven't shared in awhile but this is what I got done yesterday. DD wanted a Hannah Montana top and I was finally able to get it done.
Those look great!

Am I the only one who went CRAZY at Joann's yesterday.
I've got to go!!!!!!!!!!!

I did take some time to work on a simple project.

hellokittypettibirthdaycake006.jpg

hellokittypettibirthdaycake007.jpg
That is awesome! Thanks for your directions too!

I am admitting I need to pack up the sewing machine so I can actually start packing for our trip! I was hoping to get a set of matching dresses for my DD and neice done, but I just dont' see it happening. They weren't WDW-specific patterns; I'll do them for them for summer.
Wonderful! Love the pink Cindy dress! Have a great trip!!!!

You are really making me want that Easy fit pants pattern!! Love the PJ pants! The new cars outfit is very cool!! I love the matching shorts. I also love the fabric choices for the skirt - great combination of prints!
Thanks! I love the pants. I was a bit reluctant to spend the money on such a simple pattern but it was so worth it.

I'm thinking of getting black & white check Vans sneakers for the outfit.

I  the girls cars top!!
Thanks!

Sorry I am just so far behind and haven't had a chance to go catch up. Here are couple things that I made dd.
So cute! I like the dresses as is without pants. What pattern did you use for the boy's shirt?

Hello Ladies :)

I'm so far behind - I've not had much time to check in lately - DH has been on callout and then is off for the weekend to the car racing - unfortunately not enough time for sewing with a teething bubba as well :(

I've got my lovely cutting table now - waiting for DH to set it all up (once again waiting for time) and my sister moved out :( but the good thing about that is I now have a craft room ;) but wondering if I should move the girls into the smaller bedroom and steal the larger one for myself :rolleyes1

Thanks for the link to the pettiskirts - I'm still hunting for the right fabric here but no luck - they just do the polyester stuff but I want nylon so it doesn't fray.

Anyway I'm going to skim through as I'd hate to miss all those beautiful outfits :)

Oh and I'm at a total weight loss of 2.9kgs (6.5lbs) so I'm getting there slowly :)

oh... and I was wondering how you know when you have a fabric obsession and how to fix it :confused3

I joined a fabric group buy co-op thing and I've ordered about 40yds of fabric:eek:

I didn't realise how much I bought until I wrote it all down in a spreadsheet - DH is going to freak :scared1:

The funny thing is I bought the fabric all with projects in mind - now I'm just going to have to find the time to make the stuff.

includes 2 amy butler weekender bags
2 co-ordinating amy butler sophia bags
some outfits for me :)
Quilts and bedding and drapes for the girls new room
clothes for the girls
baby clothes

the girls bedding and stuff should take care of a large chunk of the fabric though.

but I was good and before I bought anything I did sell off some of my supplies - mostly diaper making stuff now that Em has a huge collection and she's our last bubba :)

anyway I'm rambling again

oh and almost forgot about the box of disney fabrics that some disers have been collecting for me. I need some hiding places hehe

I love these outfits. They are so cute. That Cars fabric is just too cute!!! I haven't seen any of that around here just yet.

oh no Pre- Trip report, but I will definetly do when when I get back!

Excellent...have a GREAT trip!!!

I was a BAD girl and went to Joann's today! I got Some Pooh material for lounge pants for $1.50 a yard! I also got some cute woodland friends flannel, White knit material (MOre knit dresses to come :cool1: ) Some nice Flannel back silky materail for PJ pants with Russian dolls on it and some with Strawberry shortcake on it Plus some beautiful butterfly material with LOTS of beads for curtains for my DD's room! I also picked up lots of patterns and thread! Yipee :) Now I have to get to work on sewing these!

Wow...sounds like you got some good stuff!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!! Be sure to post pics when you are done!

Awww those outfits are so cute!! And you kids are adorable!!! I really like that cars fabric too...where did you get it? I have never seen that one before!

Has anyone seen any Nemo or Monsters, INC fabric? I have been searching and searching and can not find it anywhere :( I did go to the Thrift store in hopes of finding a sheet but only walked out with a Buzz Lightyear one! lol

I think I saw some Monsters Inc fabric at our Hancocks not too long ago, or perhaps it was our JoAnns...lol. I know I saw some before. I could look for you. I know I have seen Nemo too...which ones were you looking for?

I'm in charge of categorizing the stuff in photobucket (although I've really been slacking lately) and I didn't even know we had a "crab stuff" category. So, that could be part of the problem! :rotfl:

I think there was a sub-category for animals and there was several crab things in there just not Elise's outfit.

You and Teresa do a FABULOUS job on the account! I don't know what we would all do without you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:worship: :worship: :worship:

Thank you SO much! At this point I will take ANY of them! I purchased some Embroidery designs for Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc and now just need the fabric to match! I am thinking I will make a twirl skirt (Patchwork) for the 2 older ones and a jumper dress for the Littlest! I do not have a Hancocks around here :( I checked at Joann's today and they did not have any. They were even out of the Princess prints! I am going to go to Wal mart over the weekend to see if they have any but the only one that sells fabric is about 45 minutes away :( and I never have much luck there!

If you could check for me that would be awesome!

I love the pink Chip and dale! Is than an :wizard: find?

Thanks! My 9yo is a good artist (my DH's aunt was an art teacher so she gets it from that side-I'm all analyst:laughing: ). She wants to put the patches in order and I think she'll do a great job. I don't know if I'll be able to do it before my trip. It looks easy enough but time consuming.

It's great that she wants to pick it all out. I bet she'll do a fabulous job and I'm sure she'll love it all the more!

I'm not sure I appreciate this line of conversation. :snooty:
:flower3:

I also wanted Sally to have a record of her first time sewing! She's a future Disboutiquer for sure!!

She did a wonderful job! I'm so happy that she liked learning and that she's already planning her next project. have you looked at independent quilt stores? Fabric will be more expensive (and I'm not sure about finding Disney fabric at one) but at least you won't have to drive to New York. I just did a quick google search and found this:
http://www.quilt.com/Stores/NorthEast/NewJersey.html

Good luck!

Thinking good thoughts for you and your family!

And, I can think of a ton of hot men that are bald!!!
Amen sister! :thumbsup2

My DH is mostly bald. He started losing his hair when he was 18!!!:scared1: He looks way older than he is right now. He got his no hair trait from his mom's side of the family. His dad has a full head of hair, but his uncle's on his mom's side are bald. DH is handsome even without hair. I think so anyway. What he lacks in hair he makes up for in personality.

I think my hubbie looks better without it actually. :goodvibes

excellent job! The are both so cute but I love the green one.

I had always been told this, too. But, I knew I also heard this was a myth. I looked it up online and I must have heard it was a myth from Dr.Oz on Oprah. Here's a link:

http://www.baldiness.com/baldness-and-its-myths-are-discussed-on-oprah/

He says since you have 2 parents, baldness can come from either side of the family. The fact that it only comes from the mother's side isn't true. So, that may give some hope to kids who have bald maternal grandfathers!

Thanks for posting that - it is excellent :goodvibes ; I had actually done some research when I got home to try and describe why it can pass through the father's side and that link does it in and of itself! I also looked at some family pictures and if you look at the men on his mom's side of the family, they all have hair but every male on his dad's side doesn't. I really appreciate you going to the trouble to find it!

I almost spent $500.
Lucky! :rotfl: Nice work!

How much fun! I love it!

th_hellokittypettibirthdaycake002.jpg

The party was soooo much fun. They learned a dance to "Pump up the party"

It was my 35th birthday.
hellokittypettibirthdaycake004.jpg

Looks like the girls had tons of fun and I love the petti! My mother-in-law decided when her oldest was born she didn't have to have any more birthdays. So she stayed 25 and had so many years of experience (so when she turned 55 she was 25 with 30 years experience) :rotfl:

They all look great! I hope you have a wonderful trip!

candicenicole19 - I somehow lost your post but I'm thinking good thoughts for you and your little girl too!

If you can do a Mickey head, you can do something more complex! I find Mickey's head to be pretty difficult, with all the curves and such. Have you looked at my applique tutorial? I tried to make it easy for beginners.

http://disboutique.blogspot.com/2008/04/bestest-applique-tutorial.html

Okay, now for some baby pictures. Tessa was NOT a cute newborn. I knew it at the time, and I know it now!! It didn't stop me from instantly falling in love with her, though.:lovestruc I was a little worried because I thought mothers were supposed to think their babies were beautiful! :rotfl: Here's some proof:
th_Hair_Hair_Glorious_Hair_.jpg

But, she cutened up very quickly!! She was almost 5 months in this picture:
th_e594.jpg

Sawyer was even cute in the womb:
th_4b6d.jpg

This is the day we brought Sawyer home from the hospital:
th_ca34.jpg

This is a picture I took of Sawyer (yes, I took it myself, I'm so proud) when he was 2.5 months old:
ee1e.jpg

Okay, there are no ugly babies! All of them are beautiful! They just get kind of scrunched up on the way out! Think of what they have been through! And if you compare any one of the babies to what I look like after having them, they will win a beauty contest every time!

I have lost a couple of multi quotes and I'll try to recap what I was going to comment on!

LisaZoe - the Minnie outfit is fantastic! Love the shoes! I am a "complete" outfit type of person and these top it off perfectly!

??? I don't remember who made the knit outfit but I love it! Too scared to work with it yet though!

Love the Pooh halter dresses. I don't think they are showing too much skin. I have that Pooh fabric but haven't done anything with it yet! Fantastic job!

Okay, had company over the weekend, trying to catch up. SORRY if I missed you, I have read and loved everything!

snubie Love the top you made yourself! And Lauren was a beautiful baby! I have a cute santa hat photo of one of my babies somewhere...

twob4him adorable pooh bear sundresses! the girls look so cute in them! And I love the bows.

Eyore4Ever149 Your baby is so cute! Love those cheeks and blue eyes! And keep us updated on the baby progress.

sohappy love your smocking designs!(almost said smoking designs :scared1: )

CampbellScot Thanks for the birthday party and sewing with grandma photos! They are great. How nice to have a grandma to teach Sally to sew! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY SALLY!

candicenicole19 I LOVE LOVE LOVE your outfits! Especially the knit one. Where did you find Minnie Dot knit? I SO want to CASE that! (but I guess I would need an embroidery machine). Your DD is darling.

princessmom29 love the LE outfit! Great job!

Heathersue love the baby pics! I think Tessa has been beautiful from day 1 :snooty: And I really love the blue photo of Sawyer--it is so cute! Love his little chin resting on his arm and the little cowlick in his hair.

Camping Griswalds I remember the first time you posted that photo of your handsome sons! I can't believe your oldest was not a cute baby!

xdanielleax Love the Diego jumper! I have sort of abandoned my ruffler foot on most projects. When I attach something gathered I just use the regular method of gathering and mark 4 points on the bodice or skirt and mark 4 points on the ruffle or skirt and pin one section at a time adjusting it until it is even. I could go into more detail on getting even ruffles (it's something I spend too much time thinking about), but I'd probably bore you all.

CastleCreations Love your tropical sundresses! I have a thing for pink and green. And I'm sure you would've had fun on Carnival, but in my opinion you can't beat a Disney cruise!

Luv2DressEmUp cute pink princess dress! I love toile!

glorib your babies were such cute babies! I LOVE chubby babies! And baby Ella looks just like big girl Ella! (except for the drool  )

lovesdumbo great job on all the things you've made! I love those easy fit pants! I still need to try the a-line.

phinsjazy great job on the Hannah Montana pattern! Looks too hard for me! :sad2:

mytwotinks I love the Hello Kitty shirt! I may have to put some buttons on something  Love the petti photos! Can't wait to get some for my girls! :dance3:

MichelleinMaine cute outfits! I want to make that pink dress someday...

100AcrePrincess beautiful babies! I love the picture of DD4, she looks so peaceful!

EnchantedPrincess Wow! Great job on the outfits! I think the cars dress is my fav.

and    to everyone who scored on some new fabric! I am trying SO HARD not to buy any more until I have finished up (okay started) some of my many projects I have lined up. Maybe I should list some to help me realize I need to get sewing! This is what I can think of offhand that I have fabric waiting for (cleaning my craft room and organizing my fabric was a bit of an eye-opener).
1) goldfish patchwork skirt
2) tinkerbell simply sweet top with easy fit pants
3)tiki hut halter top w/matching pants I'm casing from :wizard:
4) pink pirate easy fit pants to match the tank top I already made (appliqued for) Lily
5) farm/piggy fabric outfit
6)tutti frutti cherries fabric a-line top with red bows and red bloomers
7)skirt for neighbor's daughter
8)something I haven't decided yet with the pink and brown flowered fabric I got at Hobby Lobby
9)ladybug easy fit pants with matching tee
10) jeans top skirt for DD to wear to Dnephew's wedding
11)purple butterfly dress for DD10
12)only 3 more peasant dresses and 6 more doll dresses and 8 more headbands for the boutique at the end of the month :scared1:  :scared:

wow, I just overwhelmed myself enough to scare me away from my craft room for at least the rest of the day!

Has anyone seen any Nemo or Monsters, INC fabric? I have been searching and searching and can not find it anywhere :( I did go to the Thrift store in hopes of finding a sheet but only walked out with a Buzz Lightyear one! lol

I got some monsters on :wizard: a couple of weeks ago. How much nemo do you need? I have quite a bit leftover of several nemo prints and I saw some nemo somewhere--I'm thinking even my Walmart had some, but just one print. PM me if you want more info. I'd be up for some sort of trade.

ETA: here is the jumper I made with nemo fabrics, I probably have some left of all these patterns plus the "fish are friends not food" nemo fabric. I think the one I used for her pants might be the one my Walmart has.

candicenicole19 I LOVE LOVE LOVE your outfits! Especially the knit one. Where did you find Minnie Dot knit? I SO want to CASE that! (but I guess I would need an embroidery machine). Your DD is darling.

Thank you! The Minnie dot Knit is from Fabric.com but it was from a LONG time ago. I keep stalking the site in hopes of finding more! I think I only have around 8 yards of the red with white dots left but some of it has larger dots and is slightly a different color red. lol, Now to keep my fingers crossed I fdo not mess up cutting it when i make my older 2 girls their dresses!

I know at my Wal Mart the Brother Disney Sewing machine went on clearence for about $249! lol, of course that was 91 days AFTER I bought mine :rotfl: I honeslty only used it twice before I decided to make outfits for Disney! lol
