I love all of your new stuff, but I LOVE the Cinderella dress the most!! I'm not sure if you cased me or Aimee. But, I think it looks more like mine, so I'll be flattered anyway!

You had the pink Cindy dress with the bird on it, right? That is where I CASEd from (so thank you!!! :)) We're hoping to run into the mice somewhere for a pic!

I finished Violette's dress for the Go Diego Go show. It's cute. I'm not 100% happy with it but oh well. I messed up the gathering again and it's less gathered in the back than it is in the front...and I used a ruffler foot this time! for pete's sake. I tried to get some good shots of her modeling it but the moment she stands still for the picture is the moment pigs fly...haha...Sorry about the cloudiness. I just discovered a film on my lense. I have to clean it. Do you think the brown shirt looks cute under it? Or should I put like a bright blue shirt under the dress?

Cute! I vote for blue or green shirt. Brown looks fine, though, particularly from the back. But a bit more colour at the front might work better. (Sorry! I tend to write what I think. And I like colour!)

I think the brown looks fine, but a brighter shirt would really make it pop! I love the fabrics you put together for this, it is adorable!!! As is your daughter!!!

What kind of fishies do you have?

The windchilll is 27 degrees! This STINKS!!!! But, wihthout the windchill, it'a balmy 36!

The sundresses are darling!!! I love that fabric!!! And great job on the fabric finds!

Not sure if I'm bragging or moaning, but temps here were in the mid-nineties yesterday. Mostly moaning, because 90s are followed by 100s... And I'm not ready for that yet!

I am SO impressed!! For someone who JUST started sewing, you are doing a dang good job!!! I think a blue or green shirt would look super cute and bring out the brights in the dress!! Brown is cute too though! Your little one sure is cute!

LOVE that fabric on the dresses!!! Super darling!! My little Sally passed by and said "WHOA...HULA girls!" :lmao: she loves the fabric and would like a dress like that please thank you very much...as she looks at me expectantly...like I know how to make such a thing!:rotfl2:

yeah, not so much!

Love the Mickey print fabric too!!!

Have a feeling Sally Rally will be making her own dresses like that soon--with a little assistance from grandma! Your CC will get a good workout with fabric. :rolleyes1

This is for our trip in September. It is a little big but it is should fit perfectly then. The Mickey parts fabric is a dish towel set. They lady at the little kitchen shop asked me if we needed plates to go with the towels and I said or course not this is going to be clothes soon!

I am having bows and bling made to match. I am very excited about this one. Free Dining helps too. :)

WOW...you are leaving for your trip already?? Can't wait to hear all about it. Are you gonna do a TR? Have fun!!!!

I updated my signature. After hearing some bad reviews, we changed our minds (again) and we're now booked on another Disney cruise. We will cruise for 4 nights and 6 more at POP! The girls are excited. but they have a loooooonnnnnngggggg wait. So I'm going to try not to talk about it alot, and we'll be making a count down calendar when we get closer. In the meantime, I need to plan the thousand or so outfits that they will need for that week..:rotfl:

I was a BAD girl and went to Joann's today! I got Some Pooh material for lounge pants for $1.50 a yard! I also got some cute woodland friends flannel, White knit material (MOre knit dresses to come :cool1: ) Some nice Flannel back silky materail for PJ pants with Russian dolls on it and some with Strawberry shortcake on it Plus some beautiful butterfly material with LOTS of beads for curtains for my DD's room! I also picked up lots of patterns and thread! Yipee :) Now I have to get to work on sewing these!

I have a delimma. I sold a car to my Best Friend and now two weeks later she says that they don't want to deal with the issues that the car has and wants to give it back to me. She was told about everything that was wrong with the car before she even came to get the car. Am I being a (insert bad word here) for asking them to keep their end of the deal? I told them that I would take some money off of the car because one of the problems is a little worse than we previously thought, but I feel that a deal is a deal.

Oh Boy............ She made a deal with you and should stick with it. But if you want to keep your friendship, you might have to bite your tongue and take it back. Good luck.

Aimeeg- I wanted to let you know that I am going to attempt to CASE your pink Cinderella dress. I just have one question...Where did you get the beads for the necklace?

I made a pink dress, but haven't taken pictures yet. I had trouble finding inexpensive (okay, cheap!) beads. I bought wood beads and plan on painting them.

Ladies,

What color T-shirt would you iron on a mickey head with the friends around the World Epcot Fabric?

I ended up buying boring white! But I think any color would work. Even light blue, but you'd have to make sure that one really matched.

Morning all!! Just wanted to share a few pictures that I thought y'all might enjoy! I documented this most especially for all y'all!! I also wanted Sally to have a record of her first time sewing! She's a future Disboutiquer for sure!!

okay here goes!!!SO PROUD of herself!!
th_100_2524.jpg

She also made a "blanket" to match her pillow! She is now dying to make "travel" pillows to take on the plane for Disney! And pillow cases! I hope my "Sewing for Dummies and Non Artistic types" book arrives soon!!

Sally is officially 9 today. She was just 5 when I met her. She's an amazing little girl...well not little anymore. Young Lady I should say!

happy Monday all!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

BACK TO WORK!!!:cool1:

Thank you SOOO much for taking and sharing these pictures with us!!! :lovestruc Please tell Sally that I think she is a real seamstress! She did such a wonderful job!

My DD's rescheduled birthday party was this weekend. But for one reason or another almost everyone cancelled, which in the end worked out. My grandmother (81) has an aneurysm and it started leaking this weekend, so we traveled home and visited her. The DR gave her some meds to keep her comfortable...now we just wait. There is no way to do any exploratory to see what is happening, but there are two options. One - it is leaking between the layers of the vessel and it will clot. Two - it is leaking into her abdomin...it will continue to leak. She is at home now, so she is happy. i just hate to see her in pain! Just ask for some prayers and strenght for the family right now.
I hope your Grandma will be ok. I will say a prayer for her and your family. :grouphug:

We are just "waiting" for my daughters liver to fail so she can be moved up on the transplant list. She is doing great now but the reality is that it can happen at any time. I have put it in God's hands and thanks to him, my daughter is doing wonderful. God has a plan for your Grandmother as he does for my daughter
I am so sorry, this has got to be so hard to do. Your family will also be in my prayers.
I haven't shared in awhile but this is what I got done yesterday. DD wanted a Hannah Montana top and I was finally able to get it done. It took me awhile to decypher the pattern. Most of the afternoon!!! But after I did the first one, I was able to whip up the second one in about an hour. She loves it!!! Onto the pics.... Oh and these are the first pics with her new glasses that she got last week. :)

Oh, this is not information I should have heard!!!! I need to go very near a Joann's tomorrow! I don't need anything, but if I go in, I KNOW I will need something!

hellokittypettibirthdaycake006.jpg

This was pretty fun to do! Can you tell what it is? I don't like the jeans so I am going to look for some pretty fabric to make some capris out of.
I love that!!! It is so cute!! I was wondering how you attached the buttons too!

I really don't want to get going for the day because I have to get the rest of my house cleaned up for garage sale and it's not going to be any fun!

So I'm going to waist a little time here!

Here are some pics of Drew in her petti. I don't think I ever posted any. We actually bought it for the previous easter, but she wore it to her Hannah Montana dance party too!
hellokittypettibirthdaycake002.jpg

The party was soooo much fun. They learned a dance to "Pump up the party"

LOOOVE that petti!!!!
I am admitting I need to pack up the sewing machine so I can actually start packing for our trip! I was hoping to get a set of matching dresses for my DD and neice done, but I just dont' see it happening. They weren't WDW-specific patterns; I'll do them for them for summer.

The finished Anna dress with one for Molly-doll too, reversible to the rainbow stripe.

Another reversible one.

And my semi-CASE-D ode to the mouse-made Cindy dress. DD knows I made it, but doesn't know she can wear it for CRT :)

These are all fantastic!!! I love the pink Cindy dress!!! Great job!
My oldest was the prettiest newborn, but her sister is just as cute now.

You have GORGEOUS babies!!!

II'm in charge of categorizing the stuff in photobucket (although I've really been slacking lately) and I didn't even know we had a "crab stuff" category. So, that could be part of the problem! :rotfl:

I'm the other one in charge of the Photobucket account.

and

I didn't know that we had a crab section either!

I have to go look now!

I have been busy with PTA but I wanted to let you know Scrappy found a bunny den in our backyard! My husband was taking the kids fishing in the pond behind our house when he spied Scrappy chasing something around the yard. He found the den and was able to save two of the bunnies; we are hoping the mother will come and move them tonight.

Hope you didnt do as BAD as me. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Although I am in tears:sad1: :sad1: I could of saved 15% off everything. With my teachers card and I forgot. That is almost $75 :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: .
But I will REMEMBER next time. And hubby didnt seem mad. He spent more in there than I did. :rotfl: :rotfl: And no I am not a teacher. But I homeschool my children.

I am new to the Disboards, and am still trying to catch up to all of the post. I wanted to know if any of the sewers out there sold their creations. I love the outfits and want a few for my daughter when we go to Disney for the first time. However, I have no talent for sewing whatsoever. If someone has already answered this I am sorry for asking again but would love some info. Thanks!

The ladies who sell have to be very careful in how they post on the DisBoards because of the rule about no spam. By now you may have already received some PMs from sellers who saw your post. If not, I'd suggest you look through a few pages of posts and check the sig areas where people are allowed to post eBay and other website IDs.

Sorry everyone I have been absent lately. We leave thursday and I have been busy trying to finish everything!
You all have made Fabulous stuff this weekend And I love it all!

Have a great trip! We look forward to seeing photos of all those cute custom sets in their "natural" setting. :-)

OK, did I miss yet another sale announcement from JoAnns'? I didn't know of any big sale and now have a strong urge to go see if anything is left... not that I need any fabric. :rolleyes1

Did anyone else see Martha Stewart's show today? She had directions on making your own pettiskirts!! I think I might give it a whirl!

hellokittypettibirthdaycake007.jpg

A couple of people have asked how I attached the buttons on this top so here are my very simple instructions!

1.) I traced the shape of her head and marked the eyes, nose and center of the bow onto the shirt.

2.) I used a teeny tiny thread of glue to attach the buttons. I started with the bow and then did the little bit of ear that shows behind that and then the rest of the head and the eyes and nose.

3.) When the glue was dryish I used embroidery floss and attached the buttons.

Super easy and fast! I think the whole thing took less than an hour.

Hey everyone,
I need your help! I haven't posted on here in ages..............but just went through looking at everyone's latest creations. Great job everyone!
(Love the Hello Kitty!)

We are going to Universal this summer.....sshh, don't tell!

DD8 will be turning 9 and is definately getting more picky about what I make for her.
She wants outfits to wear to the USO parks, but I cannot think of anything other than Dr. Seuss! Of course, she also wants things made in styles similar to what is being sold at Old Navy, Limited Too, etc.........

So I need help on suggestions for customs for USO. Theme, characters, etc.
And if anyone has examples to show, that would be fantastic!

SO SORRY your trip got re-arranged. Time will pass quickly - it'll be here before you know it!

I had to go look and was impressed to see the instructions are from the woman who started Kaiya Eve (one of the first pettiskirt brands I heard about). Here's a link to the instructions: Pettiskirt instructions from Martha Stewart website

FANTASTIC instructions! Great resource!

WOW! Less than an hour! One question, do you have a machine that will sew buttons on for you? I'm wondering if that would make this even easier?

Sorry I am just so far behind and haven't had a chance to go catch up. Here are couple things that I made dd.

IMG_4547p.jpg

IMG_4546p.jpg

IMG_4562p.jpg

I am undecided if I should make dd pants for the CARS and Chip 'n Dale dress.

DH just informed me last night that other than the Sleeping Beauty gown that I made, dd doesn't really have many casual princess themed outfit for Disney World...so I am going to be working on some princess themed outfit for dd next.

HeatherSue - don't know if I have said it before but your applique tutorial is great!! I haven't had much luck finding the teflon pressing sheet at my Hancocks or JoAnns - none of them have a clue what I am talking about, and I really, really, really want one! I might have to check the quilt store in town.

I do sometimes sew buttons with my sewing machine, but I wanted to use the thicker embroidery floss and it was really faster that way because I could use a continuous strand instead of realigning for each button.

I'll take a picture of that back after I get my kiddos to bed tonight and I think it will make more sense.
