hee hee! Happy Birthday!!!!!

Ok, So being too cheap to actually buy the circly wrap skirt pattern from YCMT, I made it up as I went (thanks for the help, btw). And I had to try the hat too. I don't like my pattern for it as much, but I finally got it to work for me.

I asked if she wanted to pose & she said "No, I'll just smile." So we got 2 sorta goofy smiles. :confused3

I apologize for being a complete and total lurker this week. I've been busy and work and that SO cuts into my time to DIS. :rolleyes1 However, all of the outfits and Easter dresses have been complete and total eye candy!!! You ladies have some outstanding talent!!

I also didn't realize we have so many scrapbookers who have put away their paper and adhesive to make way for the fabric and thread. I'm getting the urge to scrap lately, but I have so many sewing projects that I want to get done for summer! It's crazy!

These are all darling! And I LOVE all of your purses!! I really want to try that pattern but I need to find the right fabric. I also need to get to JoAnn's because they have purse handles on sale right now.

I just wanted to ask everyone who is the praying type to pray for our SIL, Barbara. Please pray that the doctors are knowledgeable and can plan the best course of action for her. I pray that they are right so far and that this is a small ductal carcinoma that is easily taken care of with a lumpectomy and radiation. Also, they are really short on money. My brother only makes $8/hour and SIL isn't able to work. They are not sure who is going to be paying for her medical care. She and my brother may not be able to go to Disney with us now. :sad2:

I will keep Barbara in my prayers. I hope that they can get her health issues and the financial issues resolved. I'm sure it's very stressful for all of you right now.

I would love to know how you did the wrap skirt without a pattern. DD is a size 6 and the pattern on YCMT only goes up to size 4. Cute baby pictures.

THis is my constant struggle! Sew or scrapbook. no time for both!

Some very sweet person on here (I think it was jham, but I'm awful with names) gave me a run down on the directions & I ran from there. Basically, the skirt is 2 half circle skirts & 1 quarter circle sewn together (there are several patterns & instructions for circle skirts in Teresa's bookmarks). You finish 2 of the straight sides instead of joining them all together. Then you make the waist band really wide (I think mine was like 3 or 4 in wide when it was finished) & reall long (I used 2 45" lengths). I wrapped it around dd & marked where the end wrapped to on the waist band & made a button hole almost the same width as the waist band.

I'm sure that's as clear as mud ;) If you have questions I can try to answer them.

I made the wrap skirt, too without a pattern. My dd wears a 10, so I had to do basically 3 half circle skirts, and a wide waistband. I also sewed shorts under mine, too. I will post pics later!:goodvibes

I hope that misses ya'll.

There was no snow at 10:00 AM, and not at 1:30 there is a TON of snow out there! YUCK!!! We were suppose to go to my Mom's tonight, but now it looks like we will just be sitting at home. :(

The skirt came out great!!! The hat too! What pattern did you use? (for the hat that is)

That actually makes perfect sense! I'm going to bookmark that!

I can't wait to see it! Arminda told me the other day that she doesn't want any skirt that are "too poofy" so, I think this might be a nice compromise!

What a beautiful dress! She looks so pretty in it.

What did you decide? I think it looks really cute without anything under it, but a peasant underdress would be lovely too.

I haven't scrapbooked in forever too. I really need to get on that. The girls look great in their matching but age appropriate outfits. I love your new sig picture too!

Both of these dresses are so cute. I love the butterflies and ladybugs on the dress. Tell your mom she did a great job. I also hate changing DD's bed. She has a ton of pillows and stuffed animals on her bed and she sleeps like that too.:scared1:

I will tell her! :) Ugh, why do they need all that stuff to sleep with? It drives me crazy!

I love the toile! And doesn't Saylor look like quite the doll? I just want to pinch her cheeks (sorry!).

The blue dress is gorgeous!!! Your Mom does a great job!

I love Bambi outfit. We are partial to Bambi in this house!!!

What book is Jacob reading?

Yeah! I spotted the hidden Scrappy!

Thanks! We are praying for your SIL too. I hope things work out, financially too, so they don't miss the trip to the world.

Jacob is reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It is the second one. He finished the whole thing yesterday. It is cute, with little cartoons in it. It is extremely difficult for me to find books for him. He doesn't care for anything remotely scary at all, so almost all the books they market to boys are out. He reads a lot of books meant for girls, just because he prefers funny books. I asked the librarian at his school and she gave me a bunch of adventure/mystery books which Jacob told me were too scary! She was a big help.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be most appreciative. He is in third grade.

Cute! It would look great with a big black button on it!

I love the outfit your mom made and Tessa loved the butterflies on it! The bambi outfit is way too cute! Bambi is my mom's favorite Disney movie, so I have a special place in my heart for it, too.

Aw, thanks!

okay i love everything posted in the last 3-4 days i was once again sick:sick: (thanks to a non- exitent immune system):headache: and now I have these horrible Fever Blisters on both sides of my mouth:headache: and after my cabin fever had past it was time for spring cleaning:confused3 i did a overhaul on my room:lovestruc and various rooms in my house (they are not completely finished but sufficent enough for me for now ) and my kids are once again off track for 3 wks  so lets see how much sewing i get finished and Trip report chapter updated . i am at least finished with Jayedyn's easter dress which i still need to post after she comes back from my sister's tommorow . okay i am going to hit the hay .. i am exhausted .:cloud9:

I hope you feel better soon!

That's a really pretty dress. And I LOVE the Babmi. I really need to try the storybook skirt sometime. I'll just add it to the list. :lmao:

It was very easy. I just cut out the panels and sewing them together and was practically finished! Easiest skirt I have ever done!

Cute! You did a great job without a pattern. It looks so pretty.

Oh I forgot: I made a purse! I don't know why my ties seem so droopy though.
