That is too stinkin' cute!!!! I love it! I'd like to see a closeup of what's on the other side- opposite the peep. It looks like you did a little hill applique or something over there?

Here is what I did yesterday and today. I totally CASEd it from :wizard: . Megan loves the bunny peep. I had my first serger accident, sliced a big hole in the peasant dress. Thankfully it's under the jumper so it's ok.

When I went to JoAnns to get the clips I saw the cutest madras fabric, 40% off. Like I need something else to add to the todo pile!

Oh that is so cute. I love how you did the straps! Megan is so cute!

Look what my itchy bidding finger got me!! This was a full sheet set, so it has 2 pillowcases. It came to $10 w/shipping! They look brand new. I don't have a clue what I'm going to do with it!:rotfl:

Very cute!

Hi! I just used a regular shorts pattern and added the ruffles like you would to a twirl skirt (2x the width of the leg).
Thank you. I will add that to my pile.

Alright people. Homework for the night is done.
I'm pulling out the material and sewing! Woo!
We'll see what I come up with.

Please remember, I have no kids so I'm limited.
Hmm.
Although Megan's pants were pretty cute!

OOOh OOhh! Me too! I just won some today! Post what you make so I can get some ideas!! :)

Thanks everyone for your views of cuteness on the fabric. I might get those cut and started tonight. I am not sure what to do though just yet.

Just thought I would share the Cat-in-the-Hat outfit that I made for my little one. You can't really see all of them in the picture but the twirl skirt has pictures of the Cat, the little boy and girl and the goldfish in the bowl. Kinda funky looking but we love funky here...hahaha.

Okay I'm 26 and I would SO wear that skirt!!! I LOVE IT!!!:thumbsup2

Do you think it's a good idea to modify a pattern when you don't HAVE the pattern? :lmao:

I like the look of the scallops in Carla's twirl scallopini, but I didn't know if it'd be worth it for me to buy a pattern that is WAAAY too small for me.
(I mean 15"? Come on! I'm at least 5'4"! :rotfl2: )

So I cut some fabric like I *think* it could be done.
Hmm.
Looks kinda weird to me.
I can't try it out because I don't have brown thread.

But let me tell you! Those models on the YCMT site sure are beautiful and professional looking! So are the clothes!
(and yet vaguely familiar all at the same time. ;))

Oh, I love the Cat in the Hat outfit, too cute!

Heather, great score, I can't wait to see what you do.

Teresa, your girls are beautiful, and love the pony outfits. I need to try that tween skirt for Caity.

Stephres, love the peep outfit, it is Easterific!!!!!

PrincessKel, those fabrics will be really cute together. Maybe with some white trim!

2beforhim, are you a science teacher? I am, teach high school Biology.

I am working on Caity's shirt for Ohana's, but ran out of elastic thread. I will have to make a stop for it, which could be dangerous.:rotfl:

Castlecreations, I am glad Ireland is feeling better. My kids have had their share of ear infections, and they are not fun.

This is super fabr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the skirt! WOW!!!!!!!!!

OK, I really like this! Looks like I have one more thing to add to the ever growing list.

I just love this outfit! I have a question...did you make the shirt or did you base the skirt on the shirt you bought? I have to keep this in mind for when my little one gets older.

That is fabulous!!! The pictures look very professional, too!

I love it that is just too cool . where did you get the shirt ?

Seriously LOVE that! we are big on funky in this house too. Well I am. haha Georgia is just big on skulls and pirates and pink. haha

LOVE IT! It's fabulous! We like a bit of funky too.
!

Amazing....lots of details.....and perfect for today!!!!! I assume she wore it today!

This is beautiful.

Okay I'm 26 and I would SO wear that skirt!!! I LOVE IT!!!:thumbsup2

Oh, I love the Cat in the Hat outfit, too cute!

 Wow you guys REALLY made my day!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful comments!!!! My DD doesn't want to take it off. Makes a mama proud!!!:lmao:

I made the skirt first and then had to decide on a top. Initially I was going to pair it with a black tshirt but then when I while I was doing laundry I found the PERFECT shirt!!!! It is actually one of her old Christmas pj shirts. :rotfl2: It had a small outlined embroidered santa on it (very tiny) so I just appliqued my Cat in the Hat image on top of it. I just thought it looked so "Cat-in-the-Hatty", I had to use it!!! LOL :rotfl2:

Glad to hear Ireland is feeling better. Off topic, but how did you come up with the name Ireland? I think it is such a pretty name.

When I was pregnant, I was searching for an Irish girls name...it was difficult, because the way the names are spelled, aren't the way they are pronounced...I was plagued with this my entire life. My name is Elisa, but it is pronounced Ah-lisa. not Eliza, Alyssa, Elsie..and all of the other variations that I've had to endure...anyway, I was watching the baby story, and the little girl in the show's name was Ireland, and I thought, How perfect! and that was it. So far in her life she's met 2 other little girls named Ireland. One at Epcot, and one at the grocery store...I hear it's beginning to become a popular name...egads..I hope not.
But the downfall of naming your child a "place" name, is that it's kind of tacky to do it twice, so my dreams of naming my second daughter Syndey, fell by the wayside. Everyone poo-poohed the idea, and I said, FINE!! :headache: I'll just pick anything out of the "A" section of the baby name book, and low and behold. Alexis was born... I regret it now, and should have stuck to my guns, but it's too late, and she insists on being called Alexa, not Alexis, which is totally uncool...LOL

I got these Easter fabrics. They go well together IRL, but they weren't on sale. I dig the Peanuts. I wish they would do Halloween fabric of the "Great Pumpkin" or them Trick or Treating!!

FWIW, I got some of the Peanuts kids Trick or Treating last year at Joann's.

Oh I would love to see that!!! Did you buy it? Did you make something with it? I wish I had a Joanns!

Emily was almost a Sidney too! We decided on Emily because it's a family name.

I've loved everything that's been posted this weekend! I was gone scrapbooking and had lots to look at when I got back! The Seuss out fit is awesome!! I have to find some Seuss fabric.

I love the idea of naming your child for a culture. Anastasia , Josephine and Nicholas are all Royal Monarch names from Russia. are we russian - noooo. But I as a child was very much into cultures around the world. I traveled a bit and lived in sydney for a few years and almost went for the sydney route. But having children with royal names and given them grand names has always been a must for me! well when they were born you should have heard people -"is that from the movie?" - "such a long name for a little baby!" - and my mothers quote - " That is stupid why would you name a child something like that!" Wow that pushed me over the edge! People are always telling us all what to name our kids. Believe me If I could change my name from Lori to something grand and spectacular I would.
wait did I jsut ramble! sorry...
Lori

Didn't glorib alter the Butterick pattern for her little girl? It looked similar to the Anna pattern. Glorib - any hints or tips on the alterations you made to the pattern?

Yes, that was me! I basically just folded over the top part of the pattern where the the neck hole would be, then when I cut it out, I guesstimate a seam allowance and try to cut very straight across the top. I'll take a pic here in a minute and post it - I still need to post the star wars cake, too!

I have met two other Ireland's her in our little town! One was a teenage girl on my dad's track team and another goes to Georgia's school.

I get ya on the name being a place...Georgia's WHOLE name are places. and we didnt mean to do that either. hahaha Her middle name is Sierra. and our last name just happens to be a City in GEORGIA! hahah go figure. But since I can't have babies anymore, we dont really have to worry about another place name. I liked Pacifica. Kevin didnt, but he pick Memphis for a boy!

Georgia had a little best friend at her old preschool named Savannah. It was really cute they would go around making up songs "we Savannah Georgia. then giggle. I dont think they actually knew what it was! But they were born on the same day, same year MINUTES apart from each other.

OK, as promised - pics of the star wars cake and the apron dress pattern!

I cannot take credit for the idea for the cake - I CASEd it from some dude's website. It was really fun to make, though!

I cut the Butterick 5019 pattern apart at the shoulder and then folded down the neck part on both the front and back. I like to line the apron dress, so I just make sure I add a seam allowance on all edges. For the straps, I just used a strap pattern from another dress.

I have the Farbenmix pattern also, but I really like the button closure on the front (underneath) part of this dress. I think it lays flatter than the tie of the Farbenmix, which looks nicer IMO.

Hope that helps!

jham you are the lucky winner of the fabric!! Just in time too.

I wrote the names and picked one out of my basket! PM me your address and I will ship that baby off!
