Just thought I would share the Cat-in-the-Hat outfit that I made for my little one. You can't really see all of them in the picture but the twirl skirt has pictures of the Cat, the little boy and girl and the goldfish in the bowl. Kinda funky looking but we love funky here...hahaha.

This is super fabr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the skirt! WOW!!!!!!!!!

I just looked at my photopass pictures...finally!!! Has anyone done the photobook? Is it worth the 50 bucks? Opinions please!!

So I hit Joanne's with the $1.99 pattern special last weekend and I've been busy working on the following two Easter items. Just to let you know dd5 picked out the fabric for both items.
Sorry the pictures are so big. I even resized them and they still came out too big. I think I'm going to bring DD8 to the store tonight with the Monkey outfit to add something to the middle section of it like I did to the egg dress.

What do you think?

Now I'm off to make shirts with some cute Daisy fabric I got. The curtains for the girl's room will be done sooner or later.

OK, I really like this! Looks like I have one more thing to add to the ever growing list.

I have a few quick questions :)

What is the best YCMT pattern for a tiered ruffle skirt. I need sewing for dummies easy so I hate to buy with out knowing if it is easy to follow. Thanks!

I am also wondering if anyone has made a custom birthday hat. I want to make on for Katie to wear to her party. I like the ones with the marabou fur etc. I just do not know what type of hat to use. Do you think I would have to make one? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I just love this outfit! I have a question...did you make the shirt or did you base the skirt on the shirt you bought? I have to keep this in mind for when my little one gets older.

You know, to be sappy for a moment, you guys are really the best.
th_IMG_0085.jpg
First of all, . We like you, too. Second of all, :snooty: for saying you don't like sappy. Are you saying you don't like Teresa and I? We are the very definition of sappy!!

I love Megan's gauchos!!!!

Those turned out super cute! And the fabric totally reminds me of Florida! CUTE! I totally agree with you about everyone here...the nicest people ever...makes you wish we could all get together and go to lunch or something, huh?
That would be so much fun, wouldn't it?

Oh...my...GOSH!!! Those are 2 gorgeous little boys!!!! Would you look at those eyes, that hair?! The Captain Hook outfit is fabulous!!!! That's the pattern I adapted for Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit. I thought the Captain Hook looked pretty hard, but you did a GREAT job!

How CUTE!!! Tessa has the same sunglasses that JoJo is wearing! Nicholas is such a cutie, too![/QUOTE]

I LOVE the gnomes!!!!

So pretty! I love that little flower with the Mickey head in it!

Fabulous!!! I love your wood floors, too!

Such cute stuff tonight....And I just love the flamingo outfit...Florida looks so sunny and warm. I've about had it with the weather here. I have a fever and I am sooo tired though I managed to do practically nothing today. I was meandering through the orginal thread...now that they are back...and I found my first post.... it was June 7th #1690! I remember finding this thread only a few weeks before we were leaving to go to Disney. Darn, I wish I had a Disney trip to plan. OK sorry for the rambling
I hope you're feeling better today! It sounds like we both found this thread around the same time last year!

I know you and Heather like sappy, I usually do not. But I felt it today, so there!
:snooty: once again

YAY!!! Pictures of the beautiful Katie! We've missed that adorable face around here! Your other kids are so cute, too! I love the red cowboy boots!! Her birthday cake turned out fantastic and Katie looks SOOO cute in that picture!
Here's what Tessa came out of her room wearing once when she was 3:

Look at my beautiful girls (and to avoid confusion, they are my nieces)!! I love the Pony outfits!!! I also love that Arminda still gets this excited to see "freakishly big Ponies"

Love, love, love them!!! I want to make some matching Cars shorts for Sawyer's button-up shirt. I might have to buy some of this fabric so I have all those cool pictures to applique on them! I feel a CASE coming on! The Tink outfit is so cute. Feel free to repost these outfits with the models in them!!

\
I LOVE it!!! Such a pretty style of dress and those fabrics look great together! Your DD is so pretty, too!

phinz_jazy made a birthday hat for her DD. You might be able to find the pic in photobucket.

This is the pic of the hat.

I spent the weekend working on some sewing that I just wanted to get done. I made my 5 y/o DS a cars outfit (because he loves the cars characters), & I made my DD a dress & me a top. I want to do so much more!

I haven't put the buttons on the shirt yet, but I am looking for just the right ones.
th_DSC_0050.jpg

DD is only 9 months old, so the face had to be cut down alot.
th_DSC_0045.jpg

I just really like this fabric. This doesn't really look like a top, but it is.
th_DSC_0049.jpg

I didn't have time to get the model in the pictures.
cute stuff love it all

Thanks to all for the kind words on the costumes I made my girls last fall. I learned to sew when I was a teenager and am pretty good at following a pattern. But, I am a little lost without a pattern. I am amazed at the skill on this board. You are truly designers. I am really challenged when it comes to mixing fabrics and designing an outfit. So, I will be doing a lot of copying (hope you take it as a sincere form of flattery!) Below are photos of a Mickey dress I just finished.

I got these Easter fabrics. They go well together IRL, but they weren't on sale. I dig the Peanuts. I wish they would do Halloween fabric of the "Great Pumpkin" or them Trick or Treating!!

th_variouspictures048.jpg

I love it that is just too cool . where did you get the shirt ?

Ireland is feeling better! She woke up around midnight, crying that her ear hurt her again, I quickly gave her some tylenol with codeine, and she fell back asleep. Around 2 am, I heard the whine at my door...Mommmmyyyyy can I sleep with yooooouuuuu? Of course I had to let her. Needless to say, I didn't get up until around 8 am :scared1:
I did manage to get Wendy done this morning, and am assembling the outfit today. After I do the laundry, clean out my sewing cabinet, do the morning dishes, fix lunch, take a shower, rearrange my bedroom (which is what I'm doing right now) and a million other things. Oh yeah, I see that my little trouble maker, (Alexis) decided to write on my Disney cruise bank...with a marker... so she's sitting in the corner looking pathetic at the moment...
This is my day so far...how's everyone elses?
poor thing Mayson has been sick for days now and there was one night that he woke up screaming like that . But we made him a pediatrician mixture of warm vegt . oil and put some in his ear and it helped and he was out for the night.
My day is kinda like your's Laundry, dishes , bath for mayson who wrote all over himself with markers, cleaning house, and to top it all off the school just called me to tell me That Khrystian was Choking at school lunch and that one of the office ladies is bringing him home now.. he kept throwing up and had a lil' bit of blood ..
I hope you have a better day .

i have that monkey fabric too i love it . Great job on the outfit.

i have updated my trip report.. and now to get back on track for jayedyn's easter outfit... I did my applique wrong side but i am gonna fix it somehow it is a butterfly so that should not be to hard right?

I wish I could draw and show you how to make the pattern your self. I know you can do it. The problem with adapting the simp. apron dress is that the neck hole will be too wide and the straps will fall off all the time.

I took my button on the shoulder jumper dress and just used the bodice piece. Then I drew 2 lines angled outward on some newspaper to make the piece longer and wider so it would wrap around.

Cut 2 on fold.

Then, cut straps for the shoulders and ties for the back. I don't know about you guys, but the Anna says to make ties for under the dress in front and the Simp. version sayd to make a button placket. I used one big fat metal snap. It never gets lost in the wash and it never comes undone.:thumbsup2

You can make it fully lined with a little strategic sewing and a slit for turning, or just cut a bodice lining. It's up to you!

You can do it!!!!!

You might also want to check out banberry place website under information and sewing guides to see if they have any hints about construction.

HTH!!!

Check out this link http://www.farbenmix.de/anleitungen/anleitungenen.htm and then click on the Anna directions.

That is fabulous!!! The pictures look very professional, too!

I think they both look really cute as is. But, the monkey dress would look cute with a little ribbon or something at the waist.

I totally agree with something at the waist. I just added a gold sequin ribbon to add to the Drama Queen of it, but I think I might go back to Joanne's to get a widder one.

there is a simplicty pattern swimsuit. but I have to say swim lycra fabric is super expensive, hard to work with and an overall PITB to get the bottoms right. in the end it may be better and cheaper to but one! JMO
Lori

yeah I had a feeling that is the case, but I *have* to try now. haha If its too hard Georgia said "its, ok you can buy me one then" hahaha isn't that sweet or her?

Well, so I made a somewhat similar set for a customer, but with our trip approaching the spring colors in this fabric is perfect for the new Toy Story ride at CA Adventures!
Here is the new twist to my tutu. you can't see but the waist band is the same fabric as the sash!

Lori

Lori, that is so cute. I love that fabric.

my new baby has arrived ;)

IMG_3321.jpg

em's helping me clean it

and being christened - nothing interesting just inserts for my diapers :)

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! look at that set up. Now that is what I need.

I had a scare tonight....Ireland woke up from her afternoon nap SCREAMING!!! All of a sudden her ear was hurting her. She just held her head and screamed and screamed. She wouldn't let me look in it. She was fine right before her nap and even went in the pool. She didn't get her head wet, so I knew it couldn't be just water in her ear. Ireland is NOT a cryer. Last year, she broke her toe and walked around Epcot all day, and at night, she finally told me that her toe hurt...she doesn't usually cry when she's in pain, she rides it out. I knew I had to take her to the doctor, but where to go on a Sunday night at 5PM....ick...the ER!! So off we went, luckily a doctor that I'm friends with was there and we were in and out in no time...he got her a big syringe of something...and within 2 minutes...it was Goodnight Ireland. She stopped screaming and fell asleep. I had to carry her 45 pound body out to the car...it wasn't pretty..LOL. Anyhow, Miss Ireland is sporting her very first ear infection..she's in bed and I have a feeling that she won't be up until the morning... Wish me luck..I have to keep her home until at least Wednesday...so much for doing any more sewing...
By the way, I decided to do Wendy as the other panel on the skirt, and she's almost finished!

OH now. I hate ear infections. Luckily for us Georgia has only had one as well. But DH gets them REALLY bad!

Glad she is doing better.

I bet Georgia and Megan could have quite the conversation. I use an easy shorts pattern but they do not fit close to her leg. That's what she likes about them?

yeah, and the length. I think they could be a tad bit looser, and they would fit her legs just fine. and of course the butt and the waist. haha

Seriously LOVE that! we are big on funky in this house too. Well I am. haha Georgia is just big on skulls and pirates and pink. haha

Look what my itchy bidding finger got me!! This was a full sheet set, so it has 2 pillowcases. It came to $10 w/shipping! They look brand new. I don't have a clue what I'm going to do with it!:rotfl:
