Hi, All! I think this is my personal favorite of the customs I have made. Nana

Pirateprincesses.jpg
You know, Nana, of all the things that you've made the girls, I think that these are my favorites too! We wear them over & over again when we go to WDW. And, if we happen to catch Capt. Jack or Capt. Hook when we're there, they usually are VERY interested in the maps on the dresses. :rotfl2:
Besides being beautiful dresses, that is one of the nicest pictures!
Oh, you are too sweet!! We went on the Magic last April, and that's when that pic was taken!!! I can't believe that it's been almost a year!

I figured out how to get Lily to pose willingly (if not a bit overdramatically) for photos--GLITTER LIPGLOSS!:cutie:

Here is my shameless glorib CASE

I love it!!! Lily looks darling. I've said it before, but I love seeing her little curls hanging down! That outfit is fantastic!!!

I'm thinking I need to make some hats!
I am way behind & just spent all morning trying to catch up. Your outfits are great as always!

So, here are my newest projects. Both are reversible.

OH how cuuuuuute!!!!!!! I love the outfits and the baby!!!! She is precious!!!

Everyone has their price. :rotfl: I love it! I'm going to have to figure out how to make that skirt w/o the pattern (I'm just too cheap to buy it right now). AND I officially HAVE to make a hat now. Yours are just too cute.

BTW, it's in the 70's here today.
I know what you mean about being too cheap, me too! For the hats though, there are several free ones in the bookmarks! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop in and say hi! I have been MIA for the past couple days, but I have a very sick baby!!!! Went to the Dr. this morning and she has the FLU!!!!:scared1: Last night was AWFUL! She woke up at 1am and was pretty much up the rest of the night! She was running a super high fever and was shaking and crying it was sooooo bad! So needless to say I am way behind and I am sure that I have missed some amazing things, but I am sure you guys understand! Just a big thanks to everyone's kind comments on the newest outfits and my sweet babies! Don't be to chatty over the next few days so that maybe I will be able to catch up when I get a chance!:rotfl:
Oh, I hope she gets to feeling better real soon!!! Of course we understand!

Here is what I have been up to lately.....

celebrating Morgan's birthday!

MorganCarbirthday.jpg

There's our girl!!! I've missed you around here Cindee! I love Morgan's outfit, and those shoes are ADORABLE!!!!! How old is Morgan now?

Anyone else use the Simplicity Daisy Kingdom 2988 pattern yet? I bought it a month or so ago and have since seen others refer to it on this thread.

Well, so far, I hate this pattern!

The piping/binding is impossible to get right. I am in the process of taking the whole thing apart and starting over. But I need to figure out a different way to do the piping, because what they have in the instructions just isn't working. Anyone else run into this, or am I the only sewing stooge today?

YIKES! I bought it too but haven't started it. Now I'm scared! Ok, do me a favor and post your solution when you figure the piping out, pretty please. With piping, if it doesn't go juuuuuust perfect, I get all stressed.

Thought I'd post my favorite outfits too:

The Giselle one is one of my favorites, because I had to make the pattern all my own self, and I was pretty pleased with how it all turned out:
DSCF2227.jpg

Hmm, it still needs a ribbon though!

:snooty: (about the weather). That pattern only goes up to a size 3 :scared1: so I'm going to have to figure out how to make a size 12! If I remember correctly, it is basically 2 half circles and a quarter circle with a curve on top for the waist, stitch all 3 pieces together, hem the bottom and 2 sides, serge or zigzag the waist then make a (long) double sided waistband/tie (different fabric for each side) and just stitch it ON TOP of the waist of the skirt. Make a buttonhole in the waistband to pull the tie through and voila! It was pretty easy. And because it is adjustable, your waist size doesn't have to be perfect.

I love it! I haven't learned the overlock rolled hem on my serger yet. I was reading the instructions and the first step was take out one of the needles. Eek, no thanks!

The ribbon is just as cute and a lot easier so great job! :thumbsup2

I'm pretty lazy about that, I just snip the farthest left thread (I think we have the same brother walmart serger) and leave the needle in :rolleyes1 It pokes through the fabric, but on regular cotton or cotton/poly you really can't see the little holes. On my side settings I just flip the ones with an "R" setting to the Rs and then remove that weird pokey thing with the orange triangle--then it is super easy to switch over to a rolled hem! It takes me a few seconds.

I thought I remembered someone posting a finished dress using this pattern recently. I found this on the photobucket site

S2010089.jpg

But I couldn't find who originally posted it in the thread. I NEED to know (really, really, bad NEED to know) how this wonderfully gifted seamstress did the piping. Mine came out looking like dookie. Based on what I can see from this photo, it looks like s/he may have done it differently than the instructions in the pattern. Or, I am just totally not getting the instructions.

Oh wonderful seamstress of the above dress, please help!

hi all! ocassional poster here! I don't sew although I am in the process of learning but i thought i would share some of the things my mom (a.k.a. GRANDMA) has made my girls! I have her diligently sewing away for our trip to Disneyworld in DEC because I don't trust myself with any of the fabric!

This first pic is my youngest daughter's halloween costume. She was 10 months old at the time.
FAMILYPICS1478.jpg

this one is my daughter Carissa. My mom made this using a tshirt she saw somewhere (Kmart? I think?) and the cute pink monkey fabric from Joannes. she also made the pants that she is wearing with it. It fits her kind of long but my mom wanted versatility. I guess she could wear it as a tshirt dress also!

sorry for the long post! I'll try to post more pics as the outfits are completed!

Hey everyone! Trying to stay caught up here! Love everyone's St. Patty's customs! My kids are so deprived - they're just wearing regular ol' store bought clothes today! And jham - love the case! I may just need to find that fabric - I love it!!!

Been working on a few things - I'll post when they're finished.

Happy St. Pat's everyone!

I wish I could help, but have not used that pattern before.

I have TONS of favorites, but one of mine that I made was the Aloha Minnie
It was one of the first things I ever made..LOL

I love, love this!

My favorite things I have made:

I loved that spider fabric!

I really like the second outfit...love the pink and lime combo!

I've been sewing!! DD will wear one of these for her school pictures tomorrow. I just need to decide which one!! Which would you choose? The background will be a park setting (trees) with a tree trunk prop. These are McCall pattern 5615. The bows are making the cupcake one hang wonky!

th_IMG_0250-1.jpg
th_IMG_0248.jpg

I love both of them, but vote for the blue cupcake one for pictures.

Thanks for all the comments on my recon for St. Patty's Day!

I didn't have a green bow to match, and truthfully, Leighanna doesn't wear her bows to school much anymore. Apparently a mean and unthoughtfull girl made fun of her one day, and made her cry. I can't believe that this is starting in Kindergarten. :sad2:

I see that my Christmas dress I made has been on a few peoples "favorite" list! I feel so honored! It's one of my favorites too! ( I used red piping all around this bodice, and Yikes! I don't know if I will be doing that again real soon!) Like her little snooty pose?:snooty:
HollyJollyMinnie044.jpg

I think that one of my all timefavorites though is my "Mrs. Potato Head" set.

Welcome! Cute custom..and what a cute little tinkerbell! Just curious, where are you in Texas? Your dd looks a lot like this other little girl that I know, and her name is Carissa too, and she has a little sister, Cailey.

That last seam is a little tricky!

Make sure right sides are together, and match your shoulder seams and your bottom seams. Pin those together.

You are essentially sewing the inside seam without turning the garment inside out. It is so hard to explain.

The last little bit of the seam gets really tight, so you have to hand stitch it closed.
