OK, I know you are all getting sick of these patchwork twirl skirts that I have been making, but I keep getting requests for the stinkin' things. My sister asked me to make this for her neice...

i love the patchwork twirl skirts! This one is really cute, love the fabrics! I am sure your sisters neice will LOVE it!

OK, so I've cut my pattern, threaded my machine now I'm ready to sew. But I am SCARED!!! I don't want to mess it up. I'm looking at the directions but I just feel like once I stitch it, I'm going to mess it up! I hope I do it right! Wish me luck!:scared:

Just remember, if the pattern says one thing, and you've done another, doesn't mean that it's wrong.

I love it! I am sure you all remember me posting it. I just had to list that too. I am sooo sad, but I don't think nicholas would want to wear it. he did not even want to wear the white rabbit costume! THis is the only good pic I got of all 3 smiling and it is blurry! We are still thinking of this years theme, I am thinking a french theme and make the girls marie antoinette costumes! Now that will be a challange!

We're going to be Hercules. Kirsta wants to be Meg, Lou (3) will be Herc, most likely in a purchased costume. BIL wants to be Hades and my sister and I are going as Pain and Panic.

Haha, so I just tested out my machine. I think it's a lemon. That's why she sold it to me for $50. The thread just keeps jamming and winding around the bobbin case. I have to keep taking it apart and putting it back together. I know I have everything set up right. Maybe I should suck it up and buy a new machine. She said she had only used it once. The inside was rusted. I cleaned it and oiled it. But it's still jamming...boo All the reviews I've read on this machine have been terrible:sad1:

Have you looked around inside the bobbin case? Sometimes a tiny thread gets stuck and causes you to jam up. And double check the bobbin isn't in backwards. Do you have a sewing machine store near you? Sometimes you can get great deals on a used machine there, and they would have some sort of warranty on them. I got my machine at Walmart for about $180 and I love it.

I finish the farm print peasant top, as soon as I can find a camera, I'll take a picture of it and of the new sewing space.

I love the binky pictures, my DD still uses a binky, she was also a multi-binky user. Heres a picture from two years ago that I had to snap.

3binkydelaney.jpg

I plan on doing some more sewing tomorrow. I need to get on the decoupage pants tomorrow so I can manage to finish that up and an easter twirly top for an egg hunt next Saturday and dinner at my parents' house on Sunday.

Kirsta's first Disney trip, all my pics have a binky in her mouth. She was only using them for bedtime, but I couldn't get them away from her in Disney. I guess it was a comfort thing. Now well in the past!!

I Just go the Joann's flyer in my email. March 27-29 Simplicity patterns are .99cents

Already have my list made!!:rotfl:

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A past "one day only" outfit that used to be almost floor length. Now worn as a top. The ruffles on the pants were taken off of a size 3T pant.:scared1: I quickly cut them off and put them on the now 6X pant to make another "one day only" outfit!

I don't think she has a chance of being pinched in school today!:thumbsup2

I knew you'd do it!! I put a dress on Kirsta for church yesterday, that she only wore once. I made it for our trip in Sept. It was so short and the arm holes were too small! I didn't realize how much she grew!

Hi, All! I think this is my personal favorite of the customs I have made. Nana

Pirateprincesses.jpg

Besides being beautiful dresses, that is one of the nicest pictures!

I have too many favorites!

I LOVE this one and I'm not even finished with it yet! I used all my Disney scraps.

And last isn't really a custom. I think. I used a skort and tank to make this Aurora outfit.

I haven't figured out yet what Sawyer's really "into". Although, he gets awfully excited when he sees Barbie or Hannah Montana on tv. :confused3

He seems to love Mickey Mouse too!
Lydia could SO rock a pair of those pants! Tell her I said so!!

I just told Lydia what you said and showed her the pants. She then proceeded to dance around the living room to show me JUST how well she could in fact rock those pants!!! You know that girl pretty well Heather!
Since then whenever I go back and see her, she asks how our boutique stuff is coming along and how she saw sugarbees in there the other day--bizarre, no?
Bizarre YES!!!
Ok ladies and Tom! I just whipped up Georgia's St. Patty's day outfit. She didnt want the skirt I was going to make. She wanted one like Elvis and the Princess skirt. so there ya have it. haha I still need to sew on the ribbon to the skirt, but she wanted to try it on right went I was done sewing. I might try my hand at bow making tonight and make a matching bow.

47b8dd37b3127cceb61f39da132400000025101AZsXLhszbMY

This was my first piecing applique, I think it turned out ok- but I'm not a good judge- I just see what I could have done better :scared:
47b8dd37b3127cceb61f3f2113dc00000026101AZsXLhszbMY

I had planned for there to be more green in the dress when I made the bow, But I might still use it, if I don't have time or energy to make another.
47b8dd37b3127cceb61f3fae926300000026101AZsXLhszbMY

I also planned to do a rouching (sp?) ruffle on where the dress and ruffle meet- I have the "tube" sewed but now I'm not sure- What do you all think??

I think it looks adorable!!!

Okay i am way too far behind to quote singly ? (SP) great stuff all .
I am up because Mayson has a high fever ( utahmama are you up with Norah?) he will not take any medicine he is so finicky so i have to hide it in his milk . and because he is sick he does not want any :headache: i finally finished jayedyn's easter dress i will post it tommorow .
I had to make an extended pattern for it but all in all it turned out cute .
My kids are once again Off Track for 3 wks so i am going to go insane.....
ELISA :congratulations on passing ! i am a lil ' behind but that is great .
Okay i am off to take a warm bath and hope that i can get some sleep tonight. or should i say today.
Oh, poor little Mayson!! Poor little Misty! I hope you are able to get enough sleep. I'll be thinking about you.

SOOOO cute!!! I just love that! Megan looks sooooooo very very cute in this picture!!! What a doll!
I've been sewing!! DD will wear one of these for her school pictures tomorrow. I just need to decide which one!! Which would you choose? The background will be a park setting (trees) with a tree trunk prop. These are McCall pattern 5615. The bows are making the cupcake one hang wonky!

I really like the cupcake one! They are both great though! Very springy!

OK, I know you are all getting sick of these patchwork twirl skirts that I have been making, but I keep getting requests for the stinkin' things. My sister asked me to make this for her neice...

Fantastic!!! This is so pretty! I lov the patchwork twirl skirts!

This is my first Anna dress- LOVE IT! Man, no zippers, buttons, loosey goosey fitting AND it's cute? What more could anyone ask for? :cool1:

I had the hardest time trying to match a fabric to the mickey swirl. The rainbow's pretty wild, but workable for a 7 year old, lol. I'm not crazy about the straps I wanted to make them a 3rd print, but again, couldn't find what I wanted. I may just redo with the rainbow print. (Or the swirls? or one of each???)

It's not hemmed yet, trying to decide if I should put anything around the bottom? A ruffle? something for a trim? (I thought about rickrack, but I think it'd have to be something bolder than that to contrast the prints.) Any ideas?

I think some wide ric rac would look great. It's very cute!

Love seersucker! That cupcake on the shirt is just perfect. Did you use ribbon for the ruffle, it looks great!
Thanks  Yup, it's 1.5" grosgrain. I like it because you don't have to serge the edges. You just cut it off the roll and ruffle:thumbsup2

I love it! I haven't learned the overlock rolled hem on my serger yet. I was reading the instructions and the first step was take out one of the needles. Eek, no thanks!

The ribbon is just as cute and a lot easier so great job! :thumbsup2

I love how that turned out! I have an idea in my mind for another patchwork twirl skirt.

Well, I'll have photos of Lily in her latest outfit soon. There is no way of getting her to pose for pics until Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is over!

I figured out how to get Lily to pose willingly (if not a bit overdramatically) for photos--GLITTER LIPGLOSS!:cutie:

Here is my shameless glorib CASE

And just in case you were enjoying springlike weather: (at least it is melting fast, yesterday it was 7" deep :sad1: )

Pixie Dust Lip Gloss Poses! Very cute!
Shoot, you just whipped that sucker up!

I just got a bunch of different faux daisies to affix to headbands. 50% off at the Lob.

Anyone else use the Simplicity Daisy Kingdom 2988 pattern yet? I bought it a month or so ago and have since seen others refer to it on this thread.

Well, so far, I hate this pattern!

The piping/binding is impossible to get right. I am in the process of taking the whole thing apart and starting over. But I need to figure out a different way to do the piping, because what they have in the instructions just isn't working. Anyone else run into this, or am I the only sewing stooge today?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Very cute! This is exactly why I like to make things a little big and/or long. We've turned several dresses into tops around here, some of them during the same summer. :scared1:

Not sick of them at all, I love them! I'm also glad someone else keeps getting asked to make them. ;)

I almost bought that fabric. I really wish I had now. It's just so cute & summery.

I am way behind & just spent all morning trying to catch up. Your outfits are great as always!

So, here are my newest projects. Both are reversible.

Everyone has their price. :rotfl: I love it! I'm going to have to figure out how to make that skirt w/o the pattern (I'm just too cheap to buy it right now). AND I officially HAVE to make a hat now. Yours are just too cute.

BTW, it's in the 70's here today.

oohh I just did this for the first time last week. It was NOT scary (and I live in fear of my serger :scared1: ). I have a Singer serger, it came with a little screwdriver-it took two seconds to take out the needle. I even put it back:dance3:

You can do it Stephres!!!!!

My favorite pattern is actually for pjs. I've lost count of how many times I've made this pattern just for my oldest. Little sister is just now big enough for it so I get to make some more soon.

simplicity9968.jpg

I've made almost every variation possible of this: long sleeved & angle-wing, gown, shorts, pants. I even made the robe this Christmas & it was a big hit.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop in and say hi! I have been MIA for the past couple days, but I have a very sick baby!!!! Went to the Dr. this morning and she has the FLU!!!!:scared1: Last night was AWFUL! She woke up at 1am and was pretty much up the rest of the night! She was running a super high fever and was shaking and crying it was sooooo bad! So needless to say I am way behind and I am sure that I have missed some amazing things, but I am sure you guys understand! Just a big thanks to everyone's kind comments on the newest outfits and my sweet babies! Don't be to chatty over the next few days so that maybe I will be able to catch up when I get a chance!:rotfl:
