Happy St. Patrick's Day!

sp08009.jpg

A past "one day only" outfit that used to be almost floor length. Now worn as a top. The ruffles on the pants were taken off of a size 3T pant.:scared1: I quickly cut them off and put them on the now 6X pant to make another "one day only" outfit!

I don't think she has a chance of being pinched in school today!:thumbsup2

Ok this is the dress and hat that I made using the new YCMT patterns.

I love these. I think I am going to buy these patterns. Very cute!

Stephres, yes I made the shorts, too. I couldn't find any that fit the way I wanted them to, so I made them.:goodvibes

Teresa, both girls are looking more like me the older they get. When they were smaller, they looked more like their daddy.:rotfl:

Tom, Love the purse. I may try this one, too. I sewed all day yesterday, and finished Kenzie's Easter outfit. Today, I am going to try to start on Caity's. I guess I need to clean a little bit first, though.:rolleyes1

I am getting so excited about my trip. Got my tickets in the mail. :cool1: :cool1:

As for my favorite dress, it would be this one:

Look at me!!!
Ok now that I have attention. Does anybody watch Corey in the House on the Disney Channel? If you have has anyone noticed that Sohie wears custom clothing and that some of her customs are made using YCMT patterns?

Usually I am just listening to it because the computer is in the kitchen. I will have the kids alert me when she is wearing something cute!

Haha, so I just tested out my machine. I think it's a lemon. That's why she sold it to me for $50. The thread just keeps jamming and winding around the bobbin case. I have to keep taking it apart and putting it back together. I know I have everything set up right. Maybe I should suck it up and buy a new machine. She said she had only used it once. The inside was rusted. I cleaned it and oiled it. But it's still jamming...boo All the reviews I've read on this machine have been terrible:sad1:

I'm so sorry, that is so frustrating. I wish one of us could run right over there (preferably Nana) and tell you whether it is you or the machine so you wouldn't wast any more time on it. I hope you get it sorted out.

I also planned to do a rouching (sp?) ruffle on where the dress and ruffle meet- I have the "tube" sewed but now I'm not sure- What do you all think??

Cute bunny: you did a great job on it! I am very jealous of your bow, it looks perfect. I think a ruffle sounds like a good idea, I would just be concerned that it would cover the bunny.

Just one...

If you could buy just one pattern to make over and over again what would it be? I want to get a good pattern that is fun but easy to make for my pattern library!

What is yours?

The one pattern I used to death was Simplicity Sewing for Dummies, twirl skirt, cropped pants and peasant top. I don't use the peasant top much any more since finding Carla's, but I still use the yoke piece when I am making a skirt and I use the pants too. It's a great pattern. I almost passed out when Scrappy chewed up the envelope, thankfully the pattern was ok!

Okay i am way too far behind to quote singly ? (SP) great stuff all .
I am up because Mayson has a high fever ( utahmama are you up with Norah?) he will not take any medicine he is so finicky so i have to hide it in his milk . and because he is sick he does not want any :headache: i finally finished jayedyn's easter dress i will post it tommorow .
I had to make an extended pattern for it but all in all it turned out cute .
My kids are once again Off Track for 3 wks so i am going to go insane.....
ELISA :congratulations on passing ! i am a lil ' behind but that is great .
Okay i am off to take a warm bath and hope that i can get some sleep tonight. or should i say today.

I hope Mayson (and you) can get some rest today. I can't wait to see the Easter dress.

Did you even have fabric that was so pretty you didn't want to cut it? I have had some pieces washed and ironed and ready to go for almost a month. DH took the kids up to the local hangout to watch the Nascar race so I bit the bullet and bought Carla's dress pattern. After it gets light out I'll try to convince Megan to try it on for pictures!

My favorite things I have made:

I loved that spider fabric!

Cute! Great job repurposing so you didn't have to make a whole new one-day only outfit! :thumbsup2

Stephres, yes I made the shorts, too. I couldn't find any that fit the way I wanted them to, so I made them.:goodvibes

They are cute! I love the lettuce edging on them. I might have to try some. I also like that they are long, some of these shorts they make for girls are practically indecent!

Ok, here it is. It fits like a glove but I could still get it over the peasant dress. I love the fabrics, with little purses all over it. Megan requested a matching dress for her dolly.

I thought I posted last night...

My favorite set that I've made is Emily's Tink set...

IMG_3182.jpg

As for sets others have made...I'll have to thik on that one. There have been so many!!

I've been sewing!! DD will wear one of these for her school pictures tomorrow. I just need to decide which one!! Which would you choose? The background will be a park setting (trees) with a tree trunk prop. These are McCall pattern 5615. The bows are making the cupcake one hang wonky!

I like the yellow one, because I think that it would stand out, but with Emily's complexion and hair color I would say the blue one.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's NOT green beer, it's Green Sprite!

So don't get excited:

Love the print on each! You'll have to flip a coin! :cutie:

Looks similar to the McCalls #MP251 I have but thicker straps. Love 99 cent sales!

Seriously Green! :shamrock: I love that you got to re use a 3T!
It's really cute! Wait, Hold your horses, she needs a green bow! ;)

OK, I know you are all getting sick of these patchwork twirl skirts that I have been making, but I keep getting requests for the stinkin' things. My sister asked me to make this for her neice...

This is my first Anna dress- LOVE IT! Man, no zippers, buttons, loosey goosey fitting AND it's cute? What more could anyone ask for? :cool1:

I had the hardest time trying to match a fabric to the mickey swirl. The rainbow's pretty wild, but workable for a 7 year old, lol. I'm not crazy about the straps I wanted to make them a 3rd print, but again, couldn't find what I wanted. I may just redo with the rainbow print. (Or the swirls? or one of each???)

It's not hemmed yet, trying to decide if I should put anything around the bottom? A ruffle? something for a trim? (I thought about rickrack, but I think it'd have to be something bolder than that to contrast the prints.) Any ideas?

Good Morning! I love them both. I would also say the cupcake one. I think the yellow one would be to much focus on her dress in the picture. But I love that fabric!

OMG! did you guys see on the news about the folks in AZ with the 800 DOGS?!?!

There have been over a hundred shipped up here for them to be fostered out or adpotion. Poor little Chew lalas !

These are adorable! I just looked at the pattern and I would have never bought it because it looks blah but with the straps different and those prints it is totally cute. Personally, I like the yellowy one but I do think Emily looks so pretty is blue. You can't lose either way!

Yay! Love those colors! Pink and brown is my ultimate favorite together.

Thanks! I wanted to use the leftovers to make a purse but she wants an outfit for her doll. I might have to get more of that fabric!

I can't remember what she was crying about, probably denied her a cookie! ;)

Cute! I always forget you have a Scrappy too. No one will dare pinch her today!

Love seersucker! That cupcake on the shirt is just perfect. Did you use ribbon for the ruffle, it looks great!

What about ric rac in the same color as the straps? I think it looks so cute.
