I don't think MLS will be in Hawaii's future for awhile. The most logical place in Hawaii for there to be a MLS team would be Oahu, but the problem is that Aloha Stadium in Honolulu closed down indefinitely to events in 2020 and has not reopened aside from the regular outdoor swap meets that occur in the stadium parking lot every week.

In addition to that, many residents of Hawaii have to work multiple jobs (not just 2, but often 3 per person) just in order to barely make ends meet and often there are multi-generational or multi-family households living in 1 house together, packed to the gills because housing is so incredibly expensive there. It doesn't leave any extra disposable income for something like buying tickets and paying for parking to attend a professional sports game.

The population of the rest of the islands is not big enough to warrant a MLS team.

All valid points. I do think a team, if it could be stable for a couple years, could bring in new companies (jobs) and sponsorships to the islands that could create more much needed income and revenues.

You would think if professional sports could "make it" in Hawaii, you would have seen an NFL, NBA, or MLB team there by now, wouldn't you? But MLS would succeed? Sorry, no.

MLS could capitalize on being it's only professional major league team. Vegas was a no go too once upon a time as well.
