I thought for sure they would run some really great specials, or atleast new specials every hour or something. I wonder if there will be any other ding specials that will come out since this one goes until midnight. I thought southwest would be trying to fill up their seats today for all of their schedule. :(

Disappointed here too. Had hoped the date would be through the end of schedule or at least through 6/9.

Disappointed in their destination sale too. STL to MCO 'sale' is 94 each way. I bought at 99 each way some time ago. I guess I could go through the change for a grand total credit of $20. but doesn't seem worth the effort.

It's getting less attractive to put up with SW's cattle call approach to boarding when their fares are not beating the socks off the other carriers. At least for the same price, can get assigned seats.

Here in Cleveland, we were disappointed as well. Just $29 - $54 OW to Chicago, Nashville, St. Louis and Baltimore. Whoopee!

No kidding. I think of SWA as the "Greyhound Bus" of the sky.

I'm in the same boat. I would have saved $20, but would have had to fly to an airport 100 miles out of the way. Not worth it.

I don't bother with Dings on a regular basis, and this is precisely why. I've always found it to be pretty useless.

I can go from Manchester, NH to either Baltimore, Chicago or Philadelphia...hmmm... where to go, where to go :scratchin ;)

I canceled my hair appointment today because I didn't want to miss any great DINGs. Seriously, I did! Now not only am I disappointed about the lack of great deals but I have roots too!

Has anyone noticed that the current Ding expires tomorrow at 11:59 PM? Whats up with that? After getting the E-mail about the birthday celebration I was hopeful for some great DINGS! But no....just everyday ordinary ones to places no one goes to!

I can't believe SW hyped us out so much and then they give us this? I'm about to book our tickets on Delta for $237 rt. That's decent right? From Nashville. SW has it for $97 ow but only one flight is open for it. Crazy.

It was dinging 39 each way from DTW to MCO a few weeks ago and DH wasn't sure then. Now that we decieded to go, no dings. For $100 RT I will bother with a stop and SW (they don't have any non stops from DTW to MCO) but for $100 each way I might as well just do Spirit.

Come on now DING already!

 I was really expecting to see some great rates but...................

totally off topic question here sorry!

Dear Disney PHD!!

i was wondering if i could pick your brain... i too will be flying outta DTW to MCO...in september... our 4th disney trip BUT our first flying.

spirit is at 84.00 each way for us right now, my question is if in your exsperence it will drop and histrorically how far out?

thanks for your time~ :goodvibes

I'm not disappointed. I just got a killer fare for March 25...but it was on Air Tran.

$54 each way from Dulles. I wasn't planning on trying a getaway weekend during spring break but for that and an AP rate, I gotta go.

I havent flown much in Sept (DH teaches college.) but in my experince Spirit does tend to dip around 2 to 3 months out. However given that they seem to have hight prices a lot more latley, I might consider booking it now. 84 each way isn't too bad. 69 is normally the best it gets. (often it is 79, so is 5$ each way worth waiting for and risking it?)

If it was over a hundred each way I would wait. 84 right now I might just buy and not have to worry about it. They used to issue vouchers if the prices went down, but not it cost $40 to make changes, so unless it is much better then $40 it isn't worth it.

Good luck.

Now where are our dings?

The flight I want right now are 114 for Spirit. They don't seem to be going down, but I check often. :teeth:

For my family flying from DTW. It was $89 each way. Spirit was $84 going down but $114 coming back. I figured about around the high $80s was going to be the best rate this year because of gas prices so I went on and booked. Plus, I like AirTran!
